I would like to use my new MacBook to manage the information on my iphone.Attempts to use any other computer other than the original one used in the initial setup generates a message that warns me that everything on the iphone will be erased? How can I back up the information and switch to the MacBook?
My original computer died, and I don't have a phyical back up of my data. If I try to sync the device to a new computer will I lose everything currently on my phone? If so, is there a way around this?

I am having trouble syncing ringtones to my phone after installing 10.5. Prior to that I had my ringtones set for individuals and lost all of it. Now, I have redone all the tones into iTunes but don't seem able to synch them to my phone. I have looked everywhere I can think of to try and get answers with no success.
My IPhone 4s was working properly and will NOT sync to my PC using Windows 7 or Windows XP, Latest version of ITunes Available, and everything updated. I updated my IPhone to the latest version of IOS available yesterday, and now it will not Sync. Nothing else has changed but the update was made yesterday, I have turned my phone off and on a couple of times, tried turning the WiFi on and off, restarted my computer, tried 3 USB Cables, but nothing. I have two screen shots attached of progress bar and error message received. Sync Session Fails to Start?
I recently got a macbook pro and I was just wondering how to sync my iPhone 4 to my new mac without losing all of my contacts, pictures, etc. I have set up icloud and home sharing and all of my contacts and pictures from my phone are saved on my macbook through that, I just want some reassurance that if I plug it in I shouldn't loose that stuff before I actually tried it.
I got my iPhone 4s back in October, and it worked just fine when syncing with iTunes and all that. Recently however, like in the last 3 weeks or so, whenever I try to plug it into the computer, my computer won't recognize it. It dings like I've inserted a USB, but it doesn't show up in "My Computer" or iTunes, and does not charge. I have tried two different cords. I tried plugging it in on my dad's Macbook, and it was recognized immediately, so I don't think it is the phone. I followed all the steps listed on the Apple technical website, and nothing has worked. I've restarted my phone, reset my phone, updated iTunes and restarted my computer, but to no avail. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad W510 and am running Windows 7. It charges just fine when plugged into the wall using the same cord. Other USB's work fine when plugged into the computer.
i have an iPhone 4S and I wanted to know if there is anyway that once we get to our max of 5 athorized computers, is there a way to unthorized them to undo it?
The hard drive in my old computer is totally fried, and my iphone is the only place my music is backed up. Is there a way to get my music from my iphone to my new computer?
My operating system crashed last 2 weeks. That was the OS my iphone syncing with itunes. I recovered my music and videos from it and then when I reformat my laptop I put my songs and videos on the same directory as my old laptop's music and video directory. today I plugged my iPhone to my newly reformatted laptop to delete all the music but when I went to the "iPhone name" > "music". due to reason that I can't delete or even add a new music into my iphone I check the "Sync Music" checkbox and asked me "Are you sure you want to sync music? all existing songs and playlists on the ''iPhone name' will be replaced with songs and playlist from your iTunes library". So I clicked the "Sync Music" and hit the "apply" button on the lower right part of iTunes. After clicking the button I received another confirmation shown below...
If click the "Erase and Sync", what kinds of contents iTunes will erase? I'm afraid it might also erase my apps. or even my contacts.
I recently bought a new laptop. I transferred my iTunes library to the new computer, deauthorised my old library and authorised my new library. I've synced my iPhone a few times but it's not adding new apps to my iPhone, or syncing contacts, bookmarks etc
when i plug my iphone 4s into my computer it is not detected in itunes, device manager or by drivers. it makes the connection noise and shows the charge indicator, nothing else my classic and shuffle connect fine on my computer my friends iphone 4s phones connect and are detected fine on my computer i have tried my iphone on my friends computer and it does not detect (apart from charge) i have tried a full format and re-install of windows i have tried full phone reset of settings and data it does detect and work when plugged into a sound dock (although i cant load music onto it so just played off Internet) to me it like a part of ios that syncs with the computer is broken, but i have no idea how to sort this as its not detected when plugged into a computer?
