Jan 29, 2010now I know why they take out the slider on N97 mini. It's a megnetic switch under the slider.that means, you can not use megnetic leather case as it will activate the camera even when it's locked.I must have my leather megnetic case.

Jun 6, 2012I have recently purchased an iPhone 4s and a lifeproof case. I'm trying to attempt a mounting idea for in my truck. I've decided to glue a piece of metal onto the back of my phone, and attach a speaker magnet behind my dash. It holds rather well, but I've read much about people saying the magnet can damage the screen. If it's behind my dash, opposite of the front, does it still do any damage?

Apr 9, 2010After recently buying a new Milestone outright I'm looking to protect the hell out of it. I currently have purchased a hard case for the phone itself (seidio innocase) as well as a screen protector.Now the next thing that I am looking for is a good Vertical case/pouch.The thing is that it must be vertical and it must be open at the top (I don't want a cover at all.I want to be able to slide the phone in and out easily). I also must have a belt clip on it.I have found a few online, but for what reviews that I have read stated that they are hard to get the phone in and out of when the phone is naked (no case on it). Since I am planning to have the phone in a hard case at all times that particular case will not work for me.
I have seen the pDair case and it looks good, but $28 USD plus shipping (to Canada) I want to make sure that the phone (in a hard case) will fit in it. I havn’t found any reviews on it as of yet either.I know that the iphone & Nexus One are about the same size as the Milestone and wonder if anyone has tried any of those cases with success? As I am sure (especially for the iphone) that there is a wider selection of cases available.

Mar 11, 2010I was given a case for my n900 as a gift. I found that every time I put the n900 into the case, it would wake up. I would put it to sleep with the spring loaded switch on the side, but no matter how gingerly I put it into the case it would keep waking up. It then occurred to me to put it into the case backwards, where upon it did not wake up.
The case basically has a felt type liner and a flap which is held closed with magnets in the flap and the front of the case. I have confirmed that both pieces are magnetized. I further discovered that if I run the front face of the n900 against either the flap or the front face of the case, the n900 will wake up.
Simply touching the face of the n900 to a magnet is not sufficient, it must be rubbed or passed in close proximity to the magnet, which I presume is then inducing a current some place that causes the n900 to wake up.I don't know if it is any more of a problem than to tell the case manufacturers not to use magnets, or at least not use them where they can be in close proximity to the face of the n900. So I am passing this along as a heads up when looking into getting a case, and where hopefully someone with more technical knowledge of the inner workings of the n900 might be able to elaborate on this.
BB Torch :: 9810 Leather Holster Magnet In Wrong Spot?
May 29, 2012Blackberry makes beautifully strong and functional leather holsters until recently. My old holster is finally giving in after 5 years and I can't find a replacement.The new holsters advertised for the Torch - DO NOT WORK!!!! The magnet is in the wrong place. Sure, it sleeps the phone on the way in but when the phone is fully inserted into the holster, the phones lights back up. It passes the magnet on the way down and then thinks it has been pulled out and lights back up.

Aug 13, 2010I just picked up a new Torch today. I've have a Bold 9000 for a long time and am used to dropping it into my belt case or pouch and having it turn off and go into in-holster mode. When I put the Torch in my 9000 cases it doesn't seem to do anything. Did RIM remove the magnet sensor and no longer have an in-holster mode? Or is the sensor in a different place and it won't work with my Bold cases? Am I missing something? I don't like having to click the lock button on the top before dropping into the case.

Apr 10, 2010I am wondering if I should keep the iphone case I have which is a white incase for my 3gs on or off. I mean I have taken it off today just to remove my clear screen protector, I have now noticed dust and some tiny items around the corner of the screen and the chrome part, which I am now trying to clean out. Whats the best way to clean this phone? I am careful with my iphone, never dropped it on the concrete ground. Only might have dropped it in the car a few times and next to my bed. However it is always in a pocket with no keys or coins. What do you guys think?
I was also going to say I do have mobile phone insurance too. So if I ever cracked or damaged it without the case. I am covered that way. So what is everyones opinion?
IPhone :: Should Get A Case?
Jul 13, 2010So I bought a used 3GS on ebay. The phone arrived with a hairline crack that the seller had not mentioned in the ad! Long story short, I got the seller to knock off $40 and then called apple who agreed to replace the unit. So I ended up with a new 32GB iPhone 3GS for only $290.
Which brings me to the question: Should I get a case? I know people drop the phones catastrophically all the time, but I heard that these phones, especially with the plastic back cover, are designed to be dropped and survive. For all you owners out there: if you had to do it over, would you still go for the case?

Jun 26, 2010Posting because I don't know if anyone else has this same problem or not with cases. With my iPhone 3GS, I put an ifrog case on it and an encase. I also used a zagg shield. Worked great! After about 8 months of using that set up I noticed that dirt dust whatever gets in between the case and the phone and scratched he phone up pretty bad. My bezel is scratched, the plastic back is scratched. WTF. Now I am reluctant to use a hard case on my new iphone or iPad. Anyone else experience this?
