Apr 12, 2012The apple logo appears for 5 seconds then disappears for 10 then appears for five and so on. I can get it to the connect to iTunes screen but as soon as I unplug it from the wall it shuts off completely. A laptop with iTunes isn't enough to power it up.

Jan 9, 2015My co-worker asked me to fix her Galaxy S5 because I have the same phone, but I can't figure it out.
The display dims after 12 seconds and shuts off 3 seconds later.
I've turned off power saving features and even changed the time out to 10 minutes and no luck.
I tried turning on smart stay, but that got me to about 30 seconds and no farther.

I was using "Swype" and thought it was a problem with that, but after switching keyboards and re-installing them, I realized it's a universal issue. This especially happens in Whatsapp, but I spend 95% of typing time there, so I can't say fairly.

Aug 23, 2010On my brother's 9700, he's experienced two random shut downs. He's with Rogers and has the latest OS installed (.743). He would notice that sometimes the phone sort of shuts off by itself. Normally he would keep the phone on standby or lock, but when he'd go to unlock the phone, he'd notice that none of the keys work (screen remains black). Normally the screen would light up and say that the phone is locked, but this doesn't happen. Then, he would hold down the End key for a couple of seconds to power up the phone, only the phone doesn't boot up from scratch. Instead, the Rogers splash screen would appear and it would go directly to his home screen. The phone is only about a week old and is brand new (not refurbished). Is there some sort of lock/standby feature that I'm unaware of that his phone is going into? Has anyone else experienced this?

Mar 22, 2012My iPhone 4S screen shuts off randomly while I am using it. It only happens when I unlock the phone or open an app. The screen shuts off and stays off until I hit the home button, and then it comes back on but instead of showing the lock screen, it shows the animation of the app closing and going back to the home screen. I have restored my phone and that did not fix the problem. Any other ideas of what I could do to fix it, or should I take in in to an Apple store and have them check it out? It happens probably once or twice a week.

Jan 10, 2010Woke up this morning and hit the home button on my iPhone, only to have the screen flicker white and then turn off. I tried pressing the home and sleep buttons, with no luck. In the fist five minutes, the screen flickered white 3 times but then proceeded to a dark screen and has not turned on since.
I have attempted soft and hard resets like some other users, but the screen is still blank. I even put the phone into recovery mode and attempted to get it running with iTunes. I re-installed 3.1.2, but no luck. The sleep button is pretty iffy, and requires you to hold it down in certain positions to get it to work, so it has been hit or miss to get the phone into recovery mode.
Two weeks ago, I reformatted the phone, updated to 3.1.2, jailbroke and unlocked the phone with blackra1n, with no problems in functionality.I also tried re-installing from a backup. I get vibration notifications in conjunctions with emails (since I see them on my laptop at the same time as the vibration), so I know there is some functionality, I just can't see anything. There is no passcode on the phone either.
My guess is the LCD went out since resets and recoveries have not been able to bring anything back on the screen. I'm about to order a new screen, I just wanted to confirm that I'm taking the proper next step.
