IPhone :: 2G (8GB) Phone With Blank Black Screen
Jan 10, 2010Woke up this morning and hit the home button on my iPhone, only to have the screen flicker white and then turn off. I tried pressing the home and sleep buttons, with no luck. In the fist five minutes, the screen flickered white 3 times but then proceeded to a dark screen and has not turned on since.
I have attempted soft and hard resets like some other users, but the screen is still blank. I even put the phone into recovery mode and attempted to get it running with iTunes. I re-installed 3.1.2, but no luck. The sleep button is pretty iffy, and requires you to hold it down in certain positions to get it to work, so it has been hit or miss to get the phone into recovery mode.
Two weeks ago, I reformatted the phone, updated to 3.1.2, jailbroke and unlocked the phone with blackra1n, with no problems in functionality.I also tried re-installing from a backup. I get vibration notifications in conjunctions with emails (since I see them on my laptop at the same time as the vibration), so I know there is some functionality, I just can't see anything. There is no passcode on the phone either.
My guess is the LCD went out since resets and recoveries have not been able to bring anything back on the screen. I'm about to order a new screen, I just wanted to confirm that I'm taking the proper next step.

Nov 3, 2014Last night it turns completley blank black screen while in the process of updating an app. Have tried to hit the reset button and the volume up and powerbutton trick but it doesnt work.I cant see any logo or splash screen. Now, I'm deciding to visit the store bought it and see what they can do. Can they possibly replace my phone or will just fix the issue?.. Apr 30, 2012I have a user whose phone is slow to respond only when she selects the Telephone. So I can go into the contacts and scroll up and down and can select contacts and they come right up. I can open apps and type on the keypad with no problems. When I select the phone and say go to contacts (which worked great by itself), I slide my finger up and about 5-7 seconds later the list moves. I select a contact and wait 5-7 seconds again, I type on the number pad and it takes a long time for numbers to appear, same slowness in favorites as well. Anyone know a fix for this? I tried a hard restart by holding the wake/sleep button and home button for 10 seconds but that didn't do anything.

Jan 1, 2010i am new to iphone, this is 1st time i took touch screen mobile..being an it engg i do have habbit of messing up with gadgets and then fixing :-pdid same with new iphone 3g.. restored it manytimes like 5-6 maybe.. within 3hours of time.. jailbroken with blackrain.. unlocked using cydia..actually i was trying to fix the gps, wi-fi and Internet problem that happens when u jailbreak it.
now the issue is.. browsing options on my phone is slow dont know whats the problem..
if i go inside any application its opening slowly.. takes arround 3 secs to open, for example camera, photos, settings and sub-menus.. everything is slow
