Apr 28, 2010My formerly Nextel BoostBerry 8350i works just fine, except for one strange thing: my phone number is listed as the old number associated with the SIM card. Even though on the Boost website my phone number and SIM number are correct, and even though if you dial the correct number my BoostBerry still gets the call, it still shows me the wrong number... and I can't for the life of me figure out how to change it.

Jun 7, 2012When i bought my iphone i kept my old number for ease but when i have synced to itunes it is showing the number given with the phone which has never before been a problem but now i have updated to 5.1 it is causing a problem with imessages as it is sending them to other iphones as my original iphone number causing people to think i had changed number. I have disabled i messages for now until i can fix. my itunes account has my number i use so not sure what to do next?

Jun 21, 2012I recently changed my number a few days ago, but my iphone 4s with sprint still displays my old number...HOW DO I CHANGE IT!?! Its driving me crazy. I already tried the turning the iMessage/Facetime on and off and it displays my new number on those settings but my old number is still on phone settings.

Jun 9, 2014Got my nice new nexus 5 and its 3 weeks old and I must say its soooo damn good to not have all the stuff put on to other android phones. This phone is simple and uncluttered, love it.
Just one little niggle. When in settings then into "about phone" and then into "status", it shows your phone number. Can some one tell me why its not my phone number. Did not think much of it until I started filling out info on my google stuff and it auto entered some info incuding the phone number, which was of course, wrong.
Simple questions really.
1. where has this number come from.
2. why is it not my number.
3. how do i change it.

May 6, 2012my daughters iphone has stopped working and has a usb and itunes displayed on phone, and when i plug it in to laptop it says it has to be restored so i did this 4 times but keep getting the error 1002 come up,i have clicked around itunes for help but just end up going around in circles as it gives no advise as to what to do. the phone is a 3gs and is a reconditioned phone it has worked ok for a month but now has this problem and wont work at all.

I followed the step att provided, after i backup and restore, I didnt get the message "congratulation your phone is unlocked". also itunes summary tab, i cannot see my phone number. it says n/a.surprisingly, my phone is receiving tmobile signal and its possible to make/receive call and text. it seems my phone is unlocked successfully, even though i didnt get the congratulation message on itunes. even though my phone is working, why my phone number is not showing up on itunes? does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Jun 3, 2012When I used the iPhone with new SIM card, it logged my "temporary number" as my phone number, iMessage phone number, and FaceTime phone number.When my real number was updated instead of the temporary number in the mobile carrier (calling someone showed them my real number), the iPhone still showed the temporary phone number in Phone Settings, iMessage and FaceTime.I corrected the phone number in the Phone Settings, and tried the instructions of previous answered-questions about this issue:
-> to turn off FaceTime and iMessage, then re-activate them, and wait for the phone-number-activation to fail (but for me, after several trials, I still did not have the option to moderate the phone number of iMessage).
I tried reseting the Network Settings. I tried removing the SIM card. I tried doing all of these things in different orders. I tried turning off-on-off-on-off-on-off the iMessage and FaceTime many times. I tried changing the phone number in my Apple ID web account.Nothing seems to work. I still cannot change the phone number in my iMessage settings.

Jun 24, 2010wondering if someone can help. here is a quick breakdown of events. received my new iphone 4 yesterday. went to store to have number ported. since i live in vegas and i have an ohio number, they had to switch the temporary las vegas number to a temporary ohio number and then had my number ported.
everything works fine except i am unable to use the visual voicemail. it says voicemail unavailable, unable to connect, when i try to log on.
Also, when i make facetime calls, my number shows up on the other persons caller id as the las vegas temporary number and not my actual number.
tried calling carrier last night, they were unable to help, so i have no idea what to do?

I made an account on the iTunes store, completed all that was, and at the end, it asked me to go into my email I provided them, and wait for the activation email they would send me. I've waited awhile now (Hours) and still no email. I even had them re-send the email various times, and still nothing.
