My cousin has an unlimited plan now but she has no idea how much data she uses per month... i vagely remember reading about finding out via text ....how can i do this?

May 27, 2012During the weekend I am helping one family member to upgrade the iOS on her iPhone 3G from 3.1 to the latest available, 4.2.1?Before the upgrade, iTunes warns me "Upgrading to iOS 4.2 will delete all of the apps and media......" and suggest me that I should apply this update on teh compuetr where I syn apps, music, videos, and photos from. The problem is, this user has never sync it with a computer. She had been using this phone for over 2 years, she has 5 pages worth of apps, and of course she would have data in some apps. She has no problem letting me make my computer as THE computer that her iPhone syncs to, and I even created a new iTunes profile for her, authorized her Apple ID, and transferred her purchase into iTunes. But when I check "Syn App" on, it tells me that all apps and data on the iPhone will be replaced with the data in the iTunes library. Well, I know what this is about, this is like.. one way overwrite type of sychronization.
But when I looked over everything again, it seems like in the iOS3 era, if you don't sync your apps with a computer on day 1 before you start using the phone, you permanately lose the ability to backup the apps' data and restore to another device? I like to emphasize again that my focus is in data, not apps, I know I could transfer purchases from phone A to iTunes to phone B, it's the inability of backing up data. Do I miss anything here? Is there still a way I could upgrade this phone from iOS 3 to iOS4, without losing her app data?

I have made several backups and using Itunes I am always able to make a complete restore.
I am on a macbook air. The newest Itunes version.
But using HTC Sync manager I am only getting to the point: Transfer and Backup, Iphone, getting started. I only get the message We cannot find any backup of your Iphone in Itunes.

Sep 11, 2015I'm constantly battling low internal drive space on my Tab S (I'll NEVER buy another 16GB internal drive device), but this question should also pertain to my S6.
When I go into my "Storage" settings, I have the option to clear my cache with one click. I'd like to use this function to clear off my cached browsing, imgur, etc., but my concern is my games.
1) If I clear the cache, will I lose my saved game data?
2) Will I lose any settings for any apps?

Apr 14, 2010I have not thought about this in months since i have not restore to a new phone in months, but since installing 4.0 i have, and have made the mistake of downloading apps i thought i bought already, but it turns out i did not! (alot of work related stuff from the same app developer who's icons look the same for the different apps he creates)
I know you could not find this out as of mid last year, but what about now? Is there a history anywhere that will show you what you have paid for? IMO itunes should automatically download all the apps you have purchased whenever you login if they are not there.

Mar 25, 2012I have been trying to sync my iPhone to my iTunes account and whenever I plug it into my computer there is nothing there. None of my old apps I have bought are there and it will not add the new apps I have on my phone. My computer crashed and I had to have it fixed but I am completely freaking b/c I had a lot of apps I had bought on there and now they are gone and I don't want to have to buy them all over again b/c that is not fare at all.

Dec 11, 2014Since iOS8.1, spotlight search no longer seems to be able to find apps on my device.I have 450 apps, and have used spotlight search since it was first introduced to find apps buried in directories on various home screens. I've tried turning off all other areas spotlight search can search, leaving only applications, yet that doesn't work. Jul 29, 2010Say you have an app (Facebook, for arguments sake) which has messages, cached pictures etc. Is that info stored in the actual app file (iTunes Media > Mobile Applications) or do you have to trigger an iTunes backup? For context, I don't have access to a backup to restore my phone from however I do have a file system backup of my applications folder. If I install these apps to my new phone will they be fresh installs or will they retain my old data?

IPhone :: Syncing Apps With New Mac And NOT Loose Their Data?
Jun 26, 2012I bought a new (to me) Macbook Pro running Lion. I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1 that I keep backed up to iCloud. With my PC I used to always keep semi-frequent backups to the computer along side the iCloud backups, never can be too careful. Now since most everyting with Lion intergrates and syncs with iCloud I haven't needed to check to sync those in iTunes.
Now to get to my question, for my apps I know I can "transfer purchases" so that my apps show up in my iTunes library, but when I check to sync the apps it completely rearranges them on the little pictures of the screen on computer. Now a long time ago with iOS 4 and my old iPhone 4 when I did this on my new at the time PC it wiped out all the app data and basically reinstalled the apps as brand new apps. I DO NOT want to loose the app data as some of apps like LockBox store critical data that I cannot loose.
Will checking to sync my apps clear the data within the apps? Again I am ONLY concerned about APP DATA ! All other data on the phone has been taken care of and synced with the computer.
