I'm planning to erase all content and setting of my iphone 4 ios 5.01.
My question is, after doing it what's next? do i restore from backup? will it still have the same ios 5.01 or itunes will automatically upgrade it to the latest ios?
Is it better to reset the iphone or erase all content? I have an ongoing issue that the folks at the Apple store in Cherry Hill NJ cannot resolve. They tell me to "reset" the phone. But when I do the problem eventually returns. What happens when I erase all content?
I currently have a 16g iphone 4s. I am swapping phones with my brother, and went to wipe the phone with the built in reset from settings. "Erase All Content and Settings". I clicked it and it immediately went to the "loading" screen where it is just a black screen with the white cirle, continuously circling. Now ive done this before and it took only a few minutes to reset. But this time around, i am currently going on 3 hours of it "Resetting".is there a shortcut, should i open phone up and unplug battery? let it die out? or wait it out and keep it plugged in??
When I try to erase all content and settings on my iphone 5, I get a "there was a problem deregistering this iphone with icloud try erasing this iphone again". This happens every time I try this procedure.Â
I cannot get past the Set up Iphone page when trying to transfer my old 3S phone to new 4s, all my contact etc carries over to the new phone but everytime i connect back to the iTunes it ask me to do the same thing. I am trying to set the new phone back to factory settings but it asking for a restriction passcode, I dont have one???

I am unable to erase all content and settings on my iPhone. Every time i do, apple logo appears soon after which a loading bar keeps rotating without fail for hours. That went on like for almost 5 hours last evening.
I have a big problem and I hope someone is able to help me. So i recently bought an iPhone 3g on ebay and it was already unlocked and jailbroken. I wanted to delete the contacts in there so I did the "erase all contents and settings." The things is, I did not know I was not suppose to do that to a jailbroken iPhone. Now my phone is stuck on the logo screen with the loading wheel thing. I did not look at the firmware version or any other specs. I also tried to do a restore on itunes, but I got "iphone could not be restored error 20." I am new to this, can someone please help me?
I just reset my Iphone 4 using "erase all content and settings" option and it goes blank. I connected it to my computer and it only shows the apple logo, this has been going on for several hours now. I tried to hold the power and home button at the same time, the logo just go on and off and when I release the buttons the apple goes back again. The I-tunes doe not recognized my i-phone (it was not listed on the devices).
I've never logged in the Apple site on a laptop before - I have been getting the same message 'Unable to verify iCloud account' every time I try and erase all data and content from my iPhone 4s. When I go to iCloud on my laptop and sign in using my Apple ID it signs me in. These are the same log in details I am prompted for when trying to erase all data/content from the phone.
I'm probably gonna get flamed, but here goes.I have a 32 3GS that I jailbroke with Spirit for 3.1.3. I got my new iP4 and wanted to reset the phone with out getting away from 3.1.3 (so I could rejailbreak super easy for sale). I did "Reset all Data and Settings" under the settings menu. From what I understand, this would erase all music, videos, email accounts, texts, ect and also erase everything from the JB, themes, apps, mods, ect. Basically reset it back to 3.1.3 stock, without using iTunes.I was under the impression this would take somewhere between 1 - 2 hrs. But the Apple logo and Progress Bar showed up, the Bar filled up after a minute or two and the phone restarted. It then sat at the Apple logo for over 10 minutes before I noticed. I assumed it was "bricked" and attempted to go into DFU mode. When I would hold down the SLeep and Home buttons the Apple Logo would disappear and phone would turn off, but then immediately attempt to restart without me doing anything. So DFU button combo didn't do anything, I also tried Recovery mode to no avail. Is sitting at the Apple Boot Logo forever supposed to be part of this process? Anything else I can do? I am thinking of letting the batt just die completely and recharging it and hoping that will break the endless reboot so I can DFU or Recovery mode the thing.
I started the "erase all content and settings" process and its seems to be taking forever, please how do i cancel the "erase all content and settings" process?
