I am setting up a new att line for this phone. Will i be able to have my discount applied at the apple store, or will i have to buy my phone then go get my discount applied at a att store?
Also, since i am setting up a new line of service is there anything i can do now to make it easier for me come the 24th?

the lady told me, just because I have a reservation for the phone, it doesn't guarantee me from getting the phone. I'd still have to go wait in the line. Even the people that don't have the reservation could be in front of me as long as they get there earlier than me.
AND, according to that "genius", Apple store don't give you discount on iphones even with you are suppose to get it with early upgrade. So, if you want to get an iphone from the store, you are paying full price.
I was planning on going to the Apple store to get an iPhone 4, but my wife just pointed out that when I did that to get my 3G we had a huge headache as Apple couldn't activate my phone since we have a discount on our plan... I had to go across the mall to AT&T to have them take the discount off, go back to Apple to get the iPhone (AT&T didn't have any in stock) then after all that headache we went back to AT&T and they couldn't put the discount back on for 48 hours.so I had to make a special trip to the AT&T store an hour drive.
Anyone experience anything like this last year with the 3GS? Anyone know if the issue is fixed? Or do I just need to get my phone direct from AT&T? On a side note, does anyone know if it's possible to start a new plan or add a line to an existing plan with my 3G so that line wouldn't have a new 2 year agreement?
I want to buy an iPhone but the prices are a little discouraging... Does anyone know if there is a way to get a discount on an iPhone (without getting it with a plan)?

Interested to see what the feeling is of people who will actually take Apple up on its offer, as someone who really doesn't experience the problem and have not had any dropped calls, etc, due to the "problem", and has already accumulated several cases ($.99 silicone cases from Ebay FTW), I really don't see the need to take apple up on its offer. Thoughts/Disagreements/Cheap shots?

I received email confirmation on both Apple IDs I used, however, my store (Oak Brook, IL) does not show my reservation on the main website, but does confirm my reservation on the iPhone App? Is this sufficient backup to secure my phone on the 24th?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI made a purchase for a black bumper and paid $31.60 but when I go to the Apple.com website to check the status of my refund its shows "There is no record of a refund for the receipt number you entered." I tried entering my receipt number plus last 4 of card and I also tried just entering the full CC number as well and get that response for both.
Just wanting to know if anyone has possibly experienced before, wanted to to see if any Macforum members have had this issue and what was the resolution to your issue? Should I just call Apple? Are they giving refunds in store if you take in your receipt?
My company surprised me with one so I don't need the one I purchased.

After picking my plan (I am an existing AT&T customer) it said can not pre order online please visit a store. Then let me pick from 3 local stores. I just received notice that the phones are in and I have until COB tomorrow (Friday) to pick them up. This was a no-committment on my part reservation - the Apple guy said pick them up if I want them, don't if I don't. I will probably just cancel these since I also and placed an order with AT&T on Tuesday. I logged out, switched off the phone, logged in but when I go to App to update and purchase, the ID is still my daughter's. I need to change my Apple ID in the App Store. I have it changed in SETTINGS>STORE. But when I go into the App store to buy or update anything my old e-mail address shows up for me to sign in with and it won't accept the password! Everyone keeps telling me to go into Settings>Store and that didn't work.
