IPhone :: Why Does My 4s Say Network Not Available
May 16, 2012
When I go to settings > general > about and look at the network, it says not available. Also, in the top left corner where it should say Verizon, nothing is there. Everything still works and I get service, but it's just annoying. I took it to the Verizon store and they couldn't help me and my complementary phone support with Apple ran out. I tried to restore it, both to factory settings and to a previous backup but neither of them worked. I also have reset the network settings 2 or 3 times and that hasn't fixed it either.
B.T.W. this happened right after I upgraded to ios 5.1.1.
no service coming... once in a while a signal shows up for a few seconds... when i try to search for a network no network is found ... rest of d fone seems to be working fine
What it says is this.."Provisioning Status".."The network is configuring your device".then it says "Your device could not be registered with the wireless network. contact your wireless service provider",but i can call and receive sms!Any suggestions?
My other half gets an error on her Razor Maxx phone that says " Network error please check the network" . It comes up just about every time she does anythign with the phone. She called the provider and did troubleshoot it and they say nothing is wrong with the settings and network. Almost say that it isn't happenning. This has become quite annoying and I've seen it myself. I have same phone and no issues with mine at all .. we purchased at same time and did upgrades at same time as well

After upgrading to iOS 5.1, my phone shows that my AT&T service is 4G. I am in Tulsa, OK and AT&T has not yet rolled out 4G and even if it had, the iPhone 4s does not support 4G so why is showing up as 4G on the screen?
Since updating to the latest iOS, I have had serious network problems. Areas where I used to have excellent signal strength now show very weak signal. Calls drop or sound robotic. Text messages 100 characters and less (not iMessage, just text) tend to break off the last word in the message and send as a separate text. Help! Can I downgrade? is a new update coming out to fix this? Thank you
Yesterday I was informed by an Apple rep over the chat support site, that the 4S when upgrade with the iOS 5.1. That it does indeed connect to the 4G network. I find it very strange that the carriers have no information on this. If Apple has a iphone that connects to the 4G network. How come they have not informed the carriers? I just spoke with Verizon and they have no information of this that I was informed of yesterday by Apple. I upgraded my daughters phone to an iphone 4S 16G and could not get the promotion, because as far as Verizon understood this phone only operates on the 3G network.
i have a iPhone 3GS and when i try to turn on the 3G network, on the top of the screen it's shown "No service". I can't make any call, text or internet using 3G, even if the area supports it, but if i turn off it and use the edge/gprs network everything works perfectly. I also tried to restore all settings, network settings and set the apn values but it still doesn't work. What could it be? I've finished my Apple's guarantee period so i hope it isn't a hardware problem
I have gone thru all the diagnostics with ATT over the phone. They think it maybe a SIM card issue or a phone hardware problem. Is there anyway I can diagnose the phone hardware?
I have an iPhone 4S which I purchased several months ago. I currently live in a 4G network covered area but have NEVER seen 4G icon on my phone. I have updated my software to 1.5.1.1 but no joy.
My provider makes a big noise about 4G and when I requested tech support on this issue, this was the response I got...
That is normal - 3g is the proper network that you should be connected to. The new HSPA+ network is technically a 3.5g network so the phone only shows 3g. Because everyone in the industry brands
HSPA+ as 4g - MTS (my provider) does the same. Is that typical across the industry? If so that's blatant deceit.
If I don't, the phone will not change time zones (when I am traveling) and sometimes will not pass smoothly from cell tower to cell tower. It came to my attention while traveling with a companion who had an identical 4S, bought 4 weeks after I bought mine in December. Email delivery to the iphone also is effected. When I found I was not getting my emails, or even my phone calls I went back to the sprint store I bought it from for help. The Sprint staffer there performed a Network Reset which cured the problem for the time being.
I bought my iPhone 4 from Singapore, currently using it in India for the past 15 months on the Airtel network. For the past 6 hours my phone is not detecting the network. It says NO DEVICE and when I checked under SETTING --> GENERAL --> ABOUT --> NETWORK it says SIM NOT ALLOWED. What seems to be the problem, is the SIM corrupt ??? Or is there a problem with the hardware itself ?
