Since my MBP is out of commission (posted about that in a different thread) and I don't know when/how it will be fixed, I'm trying to use my iPhone 4s on my boyfriend's PC in the meantime. I want to add some music that he made, but it won't allow me to, and if I sync it, I'll lose the music that's already on my iPhone. Is there any way to add music without syncing and losing my stuff or am I just screwed? I could redownload the stuff I bought off iTunes, but I have a lot of music on there I've ripped from CDs, half of which I don't know where they are anymore, and all of those files are on my dead MBP's HDD and time machine.
My current Macbook Pro is now five years old and I soon plan on buying one of the new flash based Macbook Pros. I would like to turn my old Macbook Pro into an Itunes/media server and keep all of my music stored there. I do not want to keep any music on the new computer. Is it possible to sync my iphone with the new computer (contacts, apps, etc.), but transer music off of the other computer onto my iphone. If it can be done, can it be done wirelessly, or would I have to use a USB cable every time I want to update my music.
I am getting my new phone tomorrow and im tired of using my laptop to sync, and would rather use my desktop. I do not want my music, just my apps - but i cant figure out how to view my apps on my desktop! I have never used it before for syncing or anything and i plugged in my phone and i wasnt able to see my purchased apps or anything. Personally i hate itunes because i can never figure out where **** is!
Also, i just updated my current phone yesterday to iOS4 and my phone is back to normal. There are no apps or music currently on it. The only thing i still have is my contacts - which is all i wanted to keep on my phone. I dont have to sync my phone and put all the apps on my phone from my laptop, then sync again with my desktop, do i? that would be horrible on Apple's part..
My Iphone 3GS IOS5 is usually synced with my home desktop Imac. I am going to travel USA for several weeks, and I wish to sync my Iphone with my MacBookAir during this trip, and go back to my usual sync with the Imac once back home.
I have been using a friend's computer, which has a CD drive, to purchase music from iTunes and burn my CDs (purchased years ago) onto the computer for synching with my iPhone4. Well, that computer finally "died," and I purchased an Ultrabook, which does not have a CD drive. However, I did not think much of this, as everything these days can be downloaded, it seems.
Well, when I hooked my iPhone up to my new computer (after installing iTunes on the new computer), it only synched the songs I had purchased from iTunes. It did not synch ANY of my own music, which I burned from my CD collection. I tinkered with some of the synch settings, and all of them will seemingly wipe out my iPhone library and replace it with the iTunes library from the new computer.
To clarify, about 90% of my music on my iPhone comes from my CD collection, which I spent WEEKS transferring So, going through that BS again is not an option, nor is buying all the music (some of which iTunes does not have), since I already purchased all of my CDs.
I had music on 2 computers that I purchased through Itunes. When I tried to transfer one set of songs to the other computer it synced (songs showed up on that computer's itunes), but now won't let me put those songs on my Iphone4s? How do I get those songs to sync with my phone.
I have always synced my iPhone 4 with my CPU at work, but I am trying to start over with my personal laptop. I have my music library loaded into this laptop just as I did at work. I am now trying to unsync my phone and just select certain genres from my library to sync. When I plug my phone in, iTunes recognizes it, I click on it on the left side, then I uncheck "Sync Music". Once I uncheck "Sync Music" it appears at the bottom that it will remove the music. It takes away all the blue from the capacity graph. I then click Apply, the sync begins and right before the end, the blue reappears on the capacity graph and all my music is still on my phone. I can't get it off to choose a new group of songs and resync it.
Can Apple iPhones (e.g., 4S and its iOS v7.1.2), with its data plan (e.g., 2 GB Verizon Wireless 3G), be used as Internet modems for computers (Mac OS X 10.5.8+, Windows XP+, and Linux/Debian [stable])? If so,
Ok i'm been reading up on syncing to multiple computers (through google and apple support) and it seems slpit on it can and can't be done... I got 2 computers, my main desktop which I use to sync everything and my laptop that i would like to sync only contacts (maybe calendar too). How can I go about doing this?
Is there a way to send a gaint vcard to my laptop's outlook to "sync" my contacts, something over bluetooth, or can I use itunes? This is the setting I'm looking to have
I have apps on my old Ipod touch that I want to put on my new Iphone. My Ipod is synched to my PC, but I want to sync my new Iphone to my Macbook Pro. I also want to put the old apps on my Ipod and put them on my Iphone. What should I do?
I try to sinc. first i get "computers not authorized, would you like to authorize". I do that then it tells me its already authorized. enter and it starts over.
I am always using manually manage my videos and mp3 s 5.0.1 ipad with many computer.just bought an iphone with 5.1.1, and i realize this function HT1202 manually manage now was disabled for many computers/itunes management. Every time it manually manage checked on default computer [home] and the iphone plugged into another computer the manually manage not checked. If i checked at those other computer , it will erase and sync. This not happen on 5.0.1 ipad, it still checked at other computers, so i can drag and drop as i want. The itunes said now only able to manually manage only 1 iphone (5.1.1) library/itunes/computer only.
I purchased songs from 2 different computers using itunes with the same apple id. I had 1 iPod I used for these but I just recently got an iPhone and I was wondering why it wasn't letting me put my purchased songs on my iPhone?
I have recently change my boss's phone over from a iphone 3 to a 4.He is not techno savvy and has never used itunes before so i set his phone up on my computer and created an itunes account for him and have transfered across all his contacts from his old phone to itunes and the new phone. But he has a separate list of outlook contacts on hs computer that I now need to add. What is the best way for this?
[url] have tried to follow this guide so my iPhone is manually managed music-wise across multiple computers. I set it to that on Mac 1, manually added some music. No problem. Then plug it into Mac 2. iTunes reports the iPhone 'manual manage' checkbox is unticked. If I try to tick it, it prompts me to erase the iPhone and sync with the Mac 2 iTunes.Any tips for why Apple's guide isn't working?
I had an Imac and had to exchange it twice and finally gave up on them and am now only working on my Macbook Air. When I synced my Iphone 4 on the Air, ITunes it says that you have now used 3 out of your possible 5 synced computers. Is there a way to regain the other two synced computer uses? I don't have them anymore and they were reinstalled when sent back.
When I press manually manage music and videos it tells me that I can only select this option if I wipe my iPhone and sync it with the second computers iTunes because it can only be synced with one iTunes library at a time. I have music on my laptop I want to put on my phone without wiping it!
I just realized, while commenting on another thread, that I am no longer tied up by wires. Ever since I switched to L920 (and now 1020) and Windows 8 - since Zune has become useless - I've found myself going wireless (including charging). I think I've used Windows Phone Connector, or whatever its called once, and I completely forgot about it. We can now update/upgrade software via cellular radio, and sync our files to the cloud (Skydrive and ATT) and access them from any device. Hell even my music (Xbox Music) that was stored on my broken laptop just appeared on my new laptop and on my new phone without me even lifting a finger.
Yes, I know we still need it for times when we don't have internet access, but I can't remember the last time I did not have internet access. I just find it so much more liberating.
I just bought an unlocked Focus and it works fine except my computer (as well as other computers) don't recognize it when I plug it in. It charges, but that's it. Without being able to put music and what not on it, it's basically useless. Does anyone know if there's a reason for this or if I just got a bad phone.
