Sep 9, 2014So my gmail address list or contacts seems to have been hacked and all my contacts who are still talking to me have told me so.So I changed my gmail password.No more complaints, and probably no more friends as contacts.
But seriously, I have been able to get gmail (web) working with my new double authentication password(s). Also, my outlook for MAC is working using the special "generated App Password". (because Outlook cannot do the double authentication thingie)Ditto for the gmail app from google on my iPhone. (it works too).BUT I cannot get the iPhone Mail App to connect to Gmail.
I have deleted (i thought) my existing gmail setup from my iPhone. When I try to re establish the gmail settings, using either the password generated by the MAC / iCloud keychain generator or the App password, I get the message "My Name" is already added.
It looks to me that there is something in the iPhone that matches my gmail address, even though I deleted the account.

Apr 16, 2012everything has been fine until today. I tried to upload and send a photo from an app, but while attaching to a mail i decided to cancel it. Since then for some reason now my iphone is unable to update the mail app with my google mail. I tried deleting the account, restartng the phone, and entering all my details in again. but everytime i get the same error about cannot contact imap server or something.

I've enter in all of my gmail account info into the mail settings multiple times, and gone through the set-up instructions on both Google and Apple, and I keep getting an error saying my account name or password is incorrect. I've signed in online to verify my user name and password and they are, indeed, correct. what can be done to fix it?

IPhone :: Suddenly Unable To Use Mail App To Access Gmail Account
Apr 25, 2012Shortly after I got my iPhone 4S, I added my gmail account to the mail app (not the gmail app),so that I could read my email on my phone, and specifically not using the Gmail app, but using the email app, and adding the Gmail account as an Exchange Server so that my Google Contacts would sync to the device. It worked for weeks. Now, suddenly, it says wrong password whenever I try to check my email. I have removed it and added it back. I did not change anything on my email account configuration that would cause this.
Since it happened, though, I have removed the account and re-added it. It seems that it would stop me from adding the account if I were using the wrong password, but it lets me add the account with no problem, and only gives the wrong password message after that, when it tries to begin downloading emails.
I have typed in the password enough times today to make sure that I am typing it in correctly. I have been able to log into my gmail account via the web successfully (proving that I do know my own password). I even downloaded and installed the gmail app and was able to use it to get to my email. But that leaves my phone with zero contacts, because I keep all my contacts in Google Contacts, and the Gmail app doesn't seem to add any contacts to the contacts list on the phone. I need it to work the way it was set up & working before today. I don't know if Apple changed something, if Google changed something, or what. I would think that there would be others using this functionality who may be similarly stuck.
So my question is: How can I access my Gmail account from my iphone and have my google contacts brought into the phone's contact list, and constantly synchronized with Google contacts, like I had going before today? With the addition of iCloud, it gets really confusing really quick. The simple solution that I was using was so nice. I will be sad if it is gone for good...

Apr 13, 2012I've got a Lumia 800 that wont connect to Gmail. I get the following message:"m.google.com is currently unavailable. Try again later." and the error code 85010017.
I've tried 2 SIMs and a couple of different wifi networks, but all give this error. This happens both when using the windows phone wizard for Gmail, or by trying to set it up as an outlook exchange server. I can connect to Gmail using it's POP servers, but that sucks as I would like to have push email and have my Google contacts and calendars synced!

My Torch is not reconciling my Gmail automatically; in fact, when I go to the BB menu in e-mail to manually reconcile by selecting that command, it still doesn't work.The above wouldn't bother me quite so badly if I didn't have to delete them (again) one at a time. I'm sure there must be a way to select multiple e-mails from my Inbox to delete en masse, but I haven't hit upon it yet.

BB Curve :: Unable To Delete Gmail From 8520
Feb 23, 2011I am aware that there have been issues raised previously and particularly one thread regarding the time delay between deleting emails on the server which remain on the BB.
My problem is an inability to delete emails on the BB. This problem only affects the Gmail email linked to my BB, not the other email accounts. Prior to linking the Gmail account to the BB, I spent time archiving messages from the Gmail account. This was 10 days ago.
So today I ring my carrier (Orange) for advice. They tell me that there are over 3500 messages in the inbox on the Gmail server and that is what is causing my problem. Whilst speaking to them, I was able to look at the server and confirm that there are only a couple of hundred opened messages on the server as far as I am concerned exactly as I expected.
I do have messages in other folders but the sum total is not per Orange's advice. Its worth noting that there are many many more messages on the respective servers for the other accounts for which no problem exists.

My data connection is fine and other apps are able to connect to internet through wi-fi or EDGE without any issue.
