when you remove a app from cydia does it fully get removed from your iphone or does it leave anything left behind that could contribute to errors or problems in the future? or just leave evidence of being installed before?

I installed cycorder and mxtube via cydia, but when i open these apps, phone shows a black window and then goes back to the homescreen....can anyone help me out?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI had trouble with my email app on my iPhone 4 after installing a Cydia app. Trouble is I don't know which one. I uninstalled all the Cydia apps that were removable and the problem was still there (Email app would close immediately when tapping the Reply arrow) I restored and re-jailbroke, losing the nice App Store copy of MiTube that I had, but which didn''t get synced to my computer for some reason. Now MiTube is no longer on the App store..and I have yet to hear any explanation. Anyway, after the restore I installed my Cydia apps again, and after one of these installs..Cyntact, Backgrounder, Infinidock, Infinifolders, 3G Unrestrictor..The email malfunction came back. Again I removed all the apps I had installed since the email stopped working properly and the problem did not go away. This time, in addition to email crashing on reply, I could no longer connect to the App Store (I verified that it was the software on my iPhone 4 by accessing the Appstore from my older iPhone, which still worked). I also tried restting my network settings. That didn't help a bit. So once again I restored my phone and rejailbroke and put everything back except the 5 apps mentioned and all is fine. I'd love to know which of them is causing the problem, but I don't want to attempt installing any of them since it could again result in my having to go through the many hours of restoring, and resyncing all my apps and music and reorganizing the icons into folders, etc. Has anyone else encountered any problems after installing any Cydia apps which would not go away even after the offending app(s) were removed?
View 5 Replies View RelatedOk what I almost did was restore my iPhone but then relized it would go to 3.1.3 so I stopped.I want to start my jailbreak over. I have downloaded so much apps and supporting apps that I don't want on here. Alot of the support apps though I have no clue what they are for.
If I manually delete all apps through cydia or rock and then go back and install the ones I want to keep, this will be safe and effective way off ridding all jailbreak info from my phone and starting fresh, correct?
So I had my iphone jailbroken, but then like many people I had to do the dreaded 3.1.3 restore because blackrain gave up on me.So I have now jailbroken with spirit, and wondering if there is anyway of downloading my paid Cydia apps such as Anyring again without paying a second time? I didnt back up with Aptbackup or anything when I was jailbroken on 3.1.2.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 3GS on 3.0.1 that I just used Pwnage Tool to JB/upgrade to 4.0 and then unlock using ultrasn0w.. everything went perfectly..BUT... some Cydia apps don't seem to work - looked around and didn't see a thread, so I started one. Hope this information isn't redundant.
Statusnotifier: One of my favorite Cydia apps, doesn't work with IOS4. It keeps crashing the springboard and I had to uninstall it. Apparently there is a workaround but that has its own quirks, so I will wait to see if an update is forthcoming.
SBSettings: Works but has some quirks as clearly stated on the SBSettings page on Cydia. I didn't bother with loading it yet although it is by far the most useful Cydia app in my opinion.
Any others? It would be great to keep a running list of apps that don't work with IOS4, or that have been subsequently patched to get working again.
I can't seem to get App Sync 3.1 to sync the apps I've gotten from Cydia. I've tried reinstalling it, deleting it and then downloading a fresh copy of it, but no luck either way. And yes, I DID restart after both scenarios. I'm running 3.13 on a 3GS.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI hate things like facebook and twitter however my desire hd sim free came with several apps installed i.e default ones.I have downloaded god knows how many file managers that let you uninstall apps however not yet found one that will let you uninstall the default ones. My second problem is that i am trying to delete the ringtones on the internal memory and also add my own to the list as it appears that you can only assign individualy ring tones to contacts that are the default tones is this correct? I can locate the files however the phone will not let me delete them add to them or modify them what so ever. Managed to now add ringtones to the default set so i can now use my own for individual contacts, just not managed to delete the default ones. I have just found something even more annoying the phone wont let me use my own text message alert i have stored on my phone anyone found a ay round this rather than using one from the net that the phone will let you download?i have also tried doing it via plugging it into my pc however it wont let you view the system files even by changing option to view system files under windows it will only allow viewing of the sd card.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an N97 since last year the phone is working well have only 1 little problem my phone memory is full but didn't install anything on it installed all applications or games music and videos are on mass memory the only software installed on phone memory are phone platform maps etc. which was already preinstalled when bought phone the problem that I have is when try to update for eg maps the phone says to me "memory full remove some application before make installation" have tried to remove maps from phone but and try to reinstall it on mass memory but didn't get choice to choose between phone memory or mass memory. as I see all Nokia original application are installed on phone don’t have any choice to transfer it no mass memory...therefore when phone memory is full the phone platform is slow to response want to know if someone have a solution for me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone is shutting itself off or rebooting itself unreasonably often, and the camera/camcorder "fail to initialize" or exit when pressing the record button incredibly frequently. Tried uninstalling random apps with no improvement.I hope that, in the future, that Motorola will stop wasting resources trying to customize the OS and focus only on making sure things work properly.I also hope to see the ICS update as vanilla, untouched as possible.On a side note, is there any way to see debugging/error info or whatnot with these phones? I've saved myself a lot of headaches with such information on the PC - one would think a phone essentially running linux would also have some info like that.
Edit:Uninstalled the bloatware I'll never use when I first got phone - alogcat is showing a lot of warnings relating to the apps which are now "missing" on top of quite a few other errors/warnings etc. Disappointed - why can't US cell have untouched Android OS on its best phone
I am currently running PureNexus and I do like it quite a bit. However, with Android Pay only working on systemless root (which is full of bugs) I am thinking about going back to stock.
My question is, can I install the stock rom, root, remove bloat system apps that I don't want, and unroot?
Any way for me to stay on PureNexus and keep Android Pay working that would be ideal as I am getting fantastic battery life. I am a light to moderate user and I usually have 50-60% battery left at the end of the day.
I have found some zip file in the forums that removes all the unneeded google apps when you flash it. There is heaps of stuff i don't need like docs, drive ... Is there something like that for the nexus 6p?

I have backgrounder to to auto detect (I have an iPhone 4 on 4.0.1). When I do an override and set it to run as if in foreground it doesn't do it. How can I make cydia background so I can close it and open again where I was, with going back to the homescreen and reload data and such?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I first jailbroke my phone, I went and added every source I could find. In doing so, I ended up with a bunch of junk that I needed to get rid of. Let me start by saying I DO NOT use cracked apps. I have never installed any and do not intend to. I added the Inst***ous repo and realized I didn't need it and deleted it. It wouldn't delete so I manually deleted it from the source list (/etc/apt/sources.list.d) using iFile. Now it's gone but I'm still getting these errors like it's still there. How can I completely get it off my phone?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I went to the Apple store in Ardmore, Pa to pick up a ip4 and while I was waiting I picked up one of the display ip4s. I immediately noticed an app on the phone called Cydia. I had never seen a jail broken iPhone before but I have heard the name Cydia associated with JBing, but I assumed the cydia app on the display phone was something legit. I asked one of the geniuses if the phones were jailbroken because several of the phones had the cydia app on them. He scoffed and said of course they're not jail broken. Then another genius told me that they were indeed jail broken and proceeded to remove them all from the display.
