I had trouble with my email app on my iPhone 4 after installing a Cydia app. Trouble is I don't know which one. I uninstalled all the Cydia apps that were removable and the problem was still there (Email app would close immediately when tapping the Reply arrow) I restored and re-jailbroke, losing the nice App Store copy of MiTube that I had, but which didn''t get synced to my computer for some reason. Now MiTube is no longer on the App store..and I have yet to hear any explanation. Anyway, after the restore I installed my Cydia apps again, and after one of these installs..Cyntact, Backgrounder, Infinidock, Infinifolders, 3G Unrestrictor..The email malfunction came back. Again I removed all the apps I had installed since the email stopped working properly and the problem did not go away. This time, in addition to email crashing on reply, I could no longer connect to the App Store (I verified that it was the software on my iPhone 4 by accessing the Appstore from my older iPhone, which still worked). I also tried restting my network settings. That didn't help a bit. So once again I restored my phone and rejailbroke and put everything back except the 5 apps mentioned and all is fine. I'd love to know which of them is causing the problem, but I don't want to attempt installing any of them since it could again result in my having to go through the many hours of restoring, and resyncing all my apps and music and reorganizing the icons into folders, etc. Has anyone else encountered any problems after installing any Cydia apps which would not go away even after the offending app(s) were removed?
i updated my factory unlocked iphone 3G to 4.0 and activated it through itunes. I then jailbroke it with redsn0w_win_0.9.5b5-3, but since then i've been having problems. I installed cycorder and mxtube via cydia, but when i open these apps, phone shows a black window and then goes back to the homescreen....can anyone help me out?
when you remove a app from cydia does it fully get removed from your iphone or does it leave anything left behind that could contribute to errors or problems in the future? or just leave evidence of being installed before?
so far i just purchased Infinifolders and it is really awesome. i also purchased MyWi and 3G unrestrictor. those 3 apps were no brainers. also i have no real use for Signal but i may get it just to support Planet Being.what else am i missing out on? what should i get?
Ok what I almost did was restore my iPhone but then relized it would go to 3.1.3 so I stopped.I want to start my jailbreak over. I have downloaded so much apps and supporting apps that I don't want on here. Alot of the support apps though I have no clue what they are for.
If I manually delete all apps through cydia or rock and then go back and install the ones I want to keep, this will be safe and effective way off ridding all jailbreak info from my phone and starting fresh, correct?
So I had my iphone jailbroken, but then like many people I had to do the dreaded 3.1.3 restore because blackrain gave up on me.So I have now jailbroken with spirit, and wondering if there is anyway of downloading my paid Cydia apps such as Anyring again without paying a second time? I didnt back up with Aptbackup or anything when I was jailbroken on 3.1.2.
How can I find out which licenses I have actually purchased on cydia? I sure thought I had purchased BITEsms but I started getting ads today and its asking me to purchase license.
I have a 3GS on 3.0.1 that I just used Pwnage Tool to JB/upgrade to 4.0 and then unlock using ultrasn0w.. everything went perfectly..BUT... some Cydia apps don't seem to work - looked around and didn't see a thread, so I started one. Hope this information isn't redundant.
Statusnotifier: One of my favorite Cydia apps, doesn't work with IOS4. It keeps crashing the springboard and I had to uninstall it. Apparently there is a workaround but that has its own quirks, so I will wait to see if an update is forthcoming.
SBSettings: Works but has some quirks as clearly stated on the SBSettings page on Cydia. I didn't bother with loading it yet although it is by far the most useful Cydia app in my opinion.
Any others? It would be great to keep a running list of apps that don't work with IOS4, or that have been subsequently patched to get working again.
I can't seem to get App Sync 3.1 to sync the apps I've gotten from Cydia. I've tried reinstalling it, deleting it and then downloading a fresh copy of it, but no luck either way. And yes, I DID restart after both scenarios. I'm running 3.13 on a 3GS.
Whenever I try to activate backgrounder on cydia, it just goes straight to voice control with no backgrounder enabled notification. I have backgrounder to to auto detect (I have an iPhone 4 on 4.0.1). When I do an override and set it to run as if in foreground it doesn't do it. How can I make cydia background so I can close it and open again where I was, with going back to the homescreen and reload data and such?
Can someone tell me exactly how to back up my 3.1.2 software with cydia for a windows computer.I read saurik's site and still have no idea what to do.A quick step by step would be much appreciated
When I first jailbroke my phone, I went and added every source I could find. In doing so, I ended up with a bunch of junk that I needed to get rid of. Let me start by saying I DO NOT use cracked apps. I have never installed any and do not intend to. I added the Inst***ous repo and realized I didn't need it and deleted it. It wouldn't delete so I manually deleted it from the source list (/etc/apt/sources.list.d) using iFile. Now it's gone but I'm still getting these errors like it's still there. How can I completely get it off my phone?
I accidentally deleted cydia. I have an iphone 4 and i have SSH installed as well as ifile and mterminal. Any idea how i can get my precious cydia back.
New app in Cydia allows you to use TomTom for navigation after you search for a location in Google maps. Been looking for something like this forever but was hoping for Navigon integration instead of TomTom. Anyone know if anything for Navigon exists?
Is anyone aware of an app in Cydia that will turn the iPhone into a WiFi hotspot? I'm of course jailbroken and tether via BT and USB but for various reasons interested in seeing if one turn the phone into a hot spot.
I saw an app described that allows you to quickly switch pages on the iPhone, but I can't seem to find what it's called now that I'm wanting to download it. Anyone know what I'm looking for? I know kirikae can do something like that, but I thought there was an app solely dedicated for this purpose.
So I went to the Apple store in Ardmore, Pa to pick up a ip4 and while I was waiting I picked up one of the display ip4s. I immediately noticed an app on the phone called Cydia. I had never seen a jail broken iPhone before but I have heard the name Cydia associated with JBing, but I assumed the cydia app on the display phone was something legit. I asked one of the geniuses if the phones were jailbroken because several of the phones had the cydia app on them. He scoffed and said of course they're not jail broken. Then another genius told me that they were indeed jail broken and proceeded to remove them all from the display.
I had used the hack to jail break my iPhone 4. At the time my OS was 4.0. Last night I updated my OS to 4.0.1 and lost cydia. And I have tried to go to the website and reinstall it but it won't work and automatically brings me back to my home screen. Is there any way to get cydia back on my iPhone or have I completely messed it up.
i was wayching something on Internet the other day and i forget exactly what it was but i wanted to add it to my iphone so i followed the instructions by first adding a source. well i guess it winds up the source was not good anymore and i got an error message and it was not added. but now everytime i open cydia i get this message. its not a huge deal because i just just "ok" out of it and cydia works fine. i searched around seeing if i could get rid of it somehow and i cant find anything. does anyone know what i mean or how to get rid of it?
is there an app to remove old cydia repositories?the errors are starting to annoy me. even though some of the old repositories have been deleted? do i have to do thhrough SSH? hopefully not
I can't seem to find the ActivateMMS on 2G on cydia. does anyone know what options I have if activateMMS is not available anymore. btw: I'm running 3.0 on my 2G phone
I recently purchased Auto Silent from the cydia store. It turns out this app is a complete dud on ios4 and the developer is no where to be seen. Is there a way I can get my money back from the Cydia store?
is there an app in Cydia that can enable you to be able to watch flash videos on the 3.1.2 iPhone? I've tried iMobile Cinema but it doesn't work. When installing it it gives me errors and I am unable to get it working.
I have really wanted this feature, i dont like waiting 15 minutes to see if theres a new email, i love how my mac checks for email every minute, and i wish my phone would do this too. does anybody know how a package on cydia that does this? even if i could get it to 10 minutes it would be better.
I restored 3.1.2 and jailbroke last night was working fine now today it's just staying at downloading packages and it's been like this now for 5 mins and I only have the bare bones of sources in cydia as you would a fresh install, I have restore today about 3 times but it's still just hanging at downloading packages, I have also cancelled the updating and it says it failed to fetch modmyi, bigboss, saurik.com, zodttd and says some index files failed to download.
If I add a source same thing happens, it downloads a couple packages then when the bar fills with blue it stays there saying downloading packages.
