IPhone :: Red Exclamation Point Pops Up - Unable To Send Text
May 18, 2012
You're supposed to be able to text while you're on the phone, if I'm not mistaken. I used to do it all the time. All of a sudden, it stopped. As soon as I press send, the red exclamation point pops up and says "unable to send". How can I fix this or can I?
a symbol showed up on my phone for the first time today. Its a Red circle with a white exclamation point on the top left of my blackberry curve cell phone. Earlier today it had a 1 next to it but my phone just vibrated and now there is a 2 next to it. I've been looking at online forums for hours and havnt found anybody talking about it.
Since the 5.1 update my Nexus 6 on Sprint loses a connection a few times per day. I get an exclamation point. I have read this is specific to users of Sprint and T-mobile. I use Sprint. To correct this.. rather than restart the phone I activate airplane mode for a couple seconds. I was REALLY hoping that the 5.1.1 update would correct this. Nope. I have seen posts for this on the Google forum, but so far no solutions or solid reasons why it only affects Sprint and T-mobile devices. As I stated before.. this started AFTER the 5.1 update.
I purchased the Moto X second edition unlocked pure version, from Motorola web site. For a month I was able to run on KitKat without any issues. After I have upgraded to Lollipop (5.0) I am seeing an exclamation point next to the data icon. Sometimes it takes a minute sometimes maybe 5 minutes to be able to use my data plan and access the internet!
There were situations when I could not even make a call. When switching to WIFi mode I am able to use the phone to full capability. It is just when I am trying to use my carrier's network when I have a problem. It is not related to the amount of data available, it reacts the same when I am at 100mba or 4 Gba.
Why when I try to send a text to canada while vacationing in Greece, do I always get a message send failure message, but I can still receive messages from Canada.
I just got an iphone 4 and I added my friends in contacts. When I try to text them, I do not get the delivered message and they are not getting the text. But if they text me first then I am able to send a message and have them receive it..
Phone adds a 1 in front of the phone number of the text. I am only using a 10 digit munber, but the phone keeps adding a 1. I get an error message saying invalid number and to resend using a valid 10 digit number. iMessage works fine. It's only when I try to text someone not using an iPhone.
I just got my iphone4S a couple of days ago. I am able to use iMessage to an iPhone user on my same carrier but not another carrier. I am not able to send any SMS text messages even though it is switched on in the settings list.
I replaced 3 iphone 3g's with 3 new iphone 4's on my family plan. 2 of them are working just fine. The other one is unable to send or receive texts or mms. Anyone else having this problem? Or anyone that can suggest how to fix this? I wonder if I might have misstyped in the ime or SSID info on the at&t page incorrectly on that one unit. This is a non jail broken phone. Just a regular 3g.
carrier: vodafone India (mumbai)Model info and OS version: v5.0.0.592 (Bundle 1096, Platform 5.2.0.64)Application memory: 128.7 mb free Did a battery pull fix your issue? No Issue: I recd an sms from my friend which had an exclamation mark. When i tried to reply it gave me the following message "Requested facility not implemented" & i could not reply. (i have attached the screenshot..i have darkened the area as it was a personal message)Also i asked my friend did he set any priority, he said no as he had a basic nokia handset. So how is it possible to receive an sms with red exclamation (i understand that red exclamation means high priority)
My E72-1 just developed this annoying and hard-to-fix problem: It can't send SMS messages anymore. I hadn't noticed it at first, was wondering why the persons I sent messages didn't replied when I responded to their messages. Then happened to check my phones Outbox, and 6 text messages are stuck in there for several hours already. Just to test the phone further (to check if it might be a SIM card problem), I put this SIM card on another phone, and I was able to send messages on that phone. I also placed another SIM card on the E72 and tested sending a message -- the message sending gets stuck at the Outbox and never sends. Receiving SMS messages appears to work fine. Also, calling out (voice calls) and receiving calls work. other notes: in settings: "Phone Memory" (instead of memory card) is used for text messages, configured to have up to 999 messages. Currently, have around 600 SMS messages in the Inbox and maybe 150 text messages in the Sent folder. Let's says that's only around 800 messages (not yet 999 messages). What I tried: I changed the setting from "phone memory" to "memory card", but still unable to send messages. (I reverted it back to phone memory since that's where my messages are residing.) I did a soft reset *#7780# which reset the E72's settings. Tried again to send SMS message -- it still fails. I decided to do a hard reset, so I did a full backup using Ovi Suite first. Then I did the hard reset *#7370# -- and it did solve the problem (able to send messages again), unfortunately, I would need to reinstall all the applications, contacts and restore the messages I saved. I tried restoring the backup (it was pretty big at 2.3Gb), but it's taking a very very long time (nearly an hour) and it seems to fail near the end of the restoration. The backing up of the phone took awhile (maybe 20 minutes or so) since it backedup probably the whole memory card too. (I should probably have deleted a few unneeded big files from the memory card before I did the backup since it appears that Ovi Suite is also backing up those big files).Right now, I'm doing the restoration a second time (a few hours since I first tried that and it sort of failed). During the restoration which ended with failure, it seems that when I tried sending SMS messages, it fails again. (ie. if I restore the backup, the problem is also restored) -- I'll check this again later if this is indeed the case. I still had around 130Mb free space left in the C: phone memory and the 4Gb microSDHD memory card had around 900Mb free space when I started the backing up in the first place. (mentioning these in case these might be related to the problem.)any idea what's causing the unable to send SMS message problem? another thing: does restoring backups really take an extremely long time? (I haven't tried the restoration function before, though I did a backup maybe 2 months ago) Does the phone get in a sort of "stuck" or "hanging" mode during the latter part of the restoration procedure?
I cant send text messages - although I can receive them - can someone please help me in setting this up in my phone.it has to be in the settings somewhere.
I just recently got my Xperia Ray phone and i love it, however, I'm recieving messages perfectly fine but everytime I try to respond to the messages it just says that the message could not be sent
I can't send group text on my lumia 800. I tried turning off the group text in settings, then I also tried turning it on but still I could not send group text, the message is "can't send try again".
