Sometimes I've been getting random messages when I try to download certain podcasts through the itunes app on my iphone that say, "Podcast can not be played on this iPhone" And it will not download or stream the podcast.
My phone isn't jail broken and all factory settings, so what is going on here?Is it just a random error in the OS or itunes store? Or did the podcaster actually upload the podcast in the wrong format?I can't imagine Apple even making it possible to upload in the wrong format though, given how controlling they are about the itunes store.Anyone know what is going on?
I'm thinking about getting an iPhone or iPod touch and want to listen to podcasts. With my current MP3 player/software combination I have a problem dealing with podcasts. So I'm wondering if iTunes+iPod/iPhone can do what I want. This is what I'm looking for:
I want to be able to have a playlist containing all podcasts that I haven't listened to. When a new podcast comes out I want to be able to sync with iTunes and have the new podcast get appended to the playlist. Preferably I should not have to choose which podcasts to append. All new podcasts should just be automatically appended. I don't want to have to make a new playlist everytime I download a new podcast and I don't want to lose my place in the playlist. I just want to sync the podcast and have it show up in my podcast playlist. Once I've listened to a podcast I want it to be deleted and taken off of the playlist. Thus the playlist should just act like a queue where podcasts that have been listened to get deleted and new podcasts get appended. I know that iTunes/iPod has some functionality in dealing with podcasts, but can it do all of this? If not, do you know of any device/software combination that can perhaps non-iPod or software for the iPod touch, something like that? If there's an application which can do this without syncing to iTunes, that would be work too.
how do I make sure the podcast I subscribe to, automatically syncs to my 4S? I subscribed through iTunes on Windows, so would it work just as if I downloaded a song on the computer?
I've amassed quite a few podcast feeds on my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) and wanted to remove them to free up memory on the phone. (I don't syncy through iTunes on my mac, I download them direct to the phone.) I usually just swipe and delete and removed them all last night in this way. But now all podcasts and feeds appear ghosted and can't be played or swiped. The funny thing is, the memory seems to have been freed up, so although they appear ghosted on the phone, are not actually there. I just want to remove the whole list and start again. I've tried the Settings > Usage > Music > Edit route and podcasts ahev doisappeared too.
The podcast app... which worked fine this morning... is crashing in seconds of starting all afternoon. I deleted the app, restarted the phone, and re-loaded the app.how to overcome this?
I just naturally assumed if i delete a podcast straight from the phone, that when i sync, it'll be deleted from iTunes too and poof. No more podcast. I found the opposite. Is deleting stuff one way?
I would like to record an audio track for a podcast, with the iphone 4, I have yet to buy a microphone. Anyone has experience on this? Which microphone I could buy, the IRIG?
I often download podcasts via iTunes, and some of them are showing the track IDs, as chapters. So the chapters have IDs (Artist-Title), for example in an 1 hour set, there is about 12-15 tracks with track names, but now I can't see the track names, only chapter 1, chapter 2 etc. how can i set back to "normal", to see the IDs again ?
So i noticed this morning when trying to download the latest podcast i wanted that it was just broken on my iPhone 4S. I tried everything, quitting the app, restarting the device, updating to the latest firmware that was waiting to be done. None of these things made any difference. I tried with a friends iPhone and he could see podcasts fine, ruling out the servers being down or whatever. I got home and synced my Phone to my mac and got the latest podcasts via iTunes on my Mac. Still this hasn't helped anything either I shot this shaky video to show what happens [URL]I'm a bit at a loss beyond having to fully nuke my phone which is more than a bit inconvenient.
Podcast download is different now than last week. Now it opens up Safari (didn't before - just went to iTunes), gives me an unusual looking download screen (I don't know how to get a screen shot on the iphone or I would show you what the screen looks like), and won't sort by date.
When I click iTunes and then click on podcast it automatically closes iTunes. I can listen to my music but podcast won't play. why is this and how do i fix it?
Why does itunes tell me that 1080p tv show mad men can't be played on my 4s?. And then wont let me sync it to that 4s.however i am now downloading the HD version from the cloud to my 4s.Is this bugged? will i have to download a show to my phone everytime i want to watch on the phone?
Is there any way, on an iPhone, to see a list of songs previously heard via iTunes in shuffle mode? There were songs I heard, very late last night, that would make a great playlist but I can’t recall all of them so it would be great to be to see a list of what had been played before.
Out of 50+ songs in my library, only one has this issue. Its format is no different from the others; I have tried deleting and re-installing the song. I have also tried unchecking the "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC" option in my iPhone settings, but the box was unchecked to begin with. I have also tried to create a compatible version ("File > Create new version > iPod or iPhone version"). It won't even give me the option of doing so. Is it just the song? Should I give up on it?Â
After about 90 minutes straight of playing spoken-word podcasts and music from my internal iPhone 4S speakers at top volume, the music now crackles when played at top volume. This change happened mid-song, when the unit was just sitting untouched on a counter. At first top volume was not as loud as it was previously, but the unit seems to have regained the functionality. I've reset the unit twice. Any idea what happened and—more importantly—how I can fix it?
I've had every iphone and I got my I4 on launch day. Since then, the two big Android devices came out (Evo/Droid X). I've always been a gadget geek, so I went and checked them out. For the most part, they are both pretty impressive. I'm not ready to give up my iPhone...yet, but there are a couple of things that I really liked that I wish the iPhone would incorporate:
1- widgets I get the feeling that the droid desktop is "alive" and some of the widgets are really useful. I know it's cliche'd, but the weather widget is really cool. If a storm is approaching, the desktop clouds up. This type of stuff isn't for everyone, but it would be nice to have the option. It makes the standard iPhone desktop feel a little stale.
2- bigger screen I thought the Evo would be way too much of a slab, but it really didn't feel too big to me. I absolutely love the I4 Retina display, but after playing with the Evo, I really think that Apple needs to offer two options in the future. The "standard" iPhone screen and a slightly larger version for those of us that want that.
I just returned from a two-day road trip and used my iPhone's Music app on shuffle for my soundtrack. I'd like to see a list of the songs that were played (in order) but can't seem to find a log or history. I went to the last song played and tapped the Back button until it reached the first song but I errantly tapped it one more time and it took me to the main menu and I couldn't return to my songs in the order they were played.
Having chosen the S2 over the iPhone and having used it now for 3 months (learning new things about it almost everyday) I think I can now arrive at a decision whether I made the right choice.Having seen peoples' iPhones and read on certain forums about them I'm glad I went for the S2 however (there always is an however!!!) there are [so far] 3 little gripes I have w.r.t. the S2
1) The OnOff button could be better in terms of positivity and position.
2) The (installed) Music Player unlike the music player on the iPhone doesn't remember the last position played on a certain track if you navigate away from it and listen to something else and then return to it. A real pain when listening to audiobooks unless you split the audiobook into small (~5mins) tracks then you just have to remember which track you last listened to when you turn the phone off or listen to something else on the music player. This is unlike iTunes, which the iPhone uses, which does it automatically when you check the 'Remember Playback Position' box. Naturally the inability to not remember the last position played doesn't really apply if you just listen to 3mins music tracks!
3) Kies for Mac (which is my main computer) is terrible slow almost unresponsive.Kies for the PC is marginally better but nowhere near as user friendly as iTunes.
I can download podcast with my previous 5800 (breaking >_<), but I can't find the podcast feature in C7. Any hint? or the feature is removed by Nokia? Why?
I installed and reinstalled the podcast app several times but every time i open the app all i get is an 'all episodes' option which has no episodes in it. I have no way to browse for podcasts or add new podcast feeds.Options takes me to media options, nothing at all about podcasts.
In my previous E63 there was a nice podcast client Nokia Podcasting. I was surprised when bought E72 and found out that this app is absent! Ok, I went to OviStore and what a bad news that there is no any podcast client there! So do somebody know podcast client for e72? If this forum reads Nokia team - why did you erase it from E72? It also S60 and diffreneces between E63 and E72 are only in feature packs!
