im trying to sync my phone to my new computer without losing all my contacts.
i dont care about the photos or music, ive got all the music on my computer anyway..... and the photos i can recover from the phone without syncing.... but as soon as i do the sync its going to clear all my contacts and and start fresh, as there is no history of my phone on my new computer.
ive gone from a broken pc ( its dead, so i cant get the old itunes history) , and now i have a MAC, and im worried that when i say YES to the sync its going to wipe the phone clean and sync it with a contact file that is blank.....
so is there a way i can get the contacts off my phone before i do the sync so i don't lose them..
I'm sure this is easy question for some, but it has me stumped, when I sync touch with outlook 2007, my contacts on the flow touch screeen disappear, the entries in contacts list are still there, but have to re'add the most frequently called folks. any ideas why, or better still how to get it to behave! anne:-)
Everytime my phone reboots, i lose contact that i have entered recently. I have checked the database size and there is not even an address book mentioned. When I back up to laptop, it does not back up contacts, Been to Sprint repair center and all they did was delete all my contacts and i have to recreate
So in the last two weeks my 8525 has started to lose access to Contacts. It will just open a white screen then close. The only way I can figure out to get it working again is to hard reset the phone. I really hate starting over with the Reg edits and loading all the stuff back on the phone. I am guessing I have hard reset the phone 5 times in two weeks. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and/or a quicker fix? The phone has been working fine and no modifications for a few months. At least since the last replacement phone came.
My current os is 188.8.131.52 is that an old os?Im new to blackberry and i was wondering how to update to a new os like the beta ones that just came out?will my contacts get lost, how do i save them to my pc?
Earlier today I went to put some pictures of my Curve on to the computer so I plug it in etc. it then tells me I need to update the phone so I agree. It was taking a while to update and I had a bus to catch so against my better judgement I disconnected the phone and now I get the "App Error 205." So I ask what is the best way to fix this for a techno-noob and will I lose my contacts etc?
Maybe it's just me, but this BB desktop manager seems to be a real POS. I want to wipe out my BB and then ONLY restore my contacts, however, I do not see any option for that. Also, I think that maybe I can't even restore my contacts since it was being (but not anymore) synched with my company's BES. Am I missing something? Does anyone have a good way I can do this without losing my contacts?
I own a business and having my contacts phone numbers is an abosolute necessity for me.I've noticed that after importing all my contacts from my SD card (after having setup the phone and creating a MotoBlur account, adding facebook, and a couple of email accounts) that the contacts whom had a Facebook profile, it REMOVED the phone numbers that were previously attached to the contact file.Is there a way to keep the phone from doing this? It did this to each contact that had a facebook profile that didn't have their phone number on their facebook profile.I've tried to go in and edit the contact but it tells me that you can't edit a facebook profile / contact.
I'm adding my work Enterprise email account to Blackberry Curve. When I go to set up on phone I receive a message about losing contacts on phone. I backed up contacts on computer. Will i have any problems updating then tranferring my contacts back to phone? Just a little nervous.
My laptop which my iphone was synced to recently broke so I had to get a new computer. I have read online how I can sync my phone between 2 computers using a hex editor, however I cannot access my itunes on the old computer to get the digits needed to edit with my new computer. Any ideas how I can use the phone with my new computer without losing all my phone music, contacts, messages etc?
I looked through the forums and didn't see anything. Ok this is what I want to do. I have my iphone synced to my work computer. I now want to sync it to my home computer and I am currently have 2.0.2 Jailbroke and want to go to 2.2. I dont want to lose my music, and all my games, as well as my cydia stuff. Is there anyway just to upgrade to 2.2 and add/remove apps and music with my home computer?
I have a jailbroken and unlocked 2g iPhone. I already know that I will lose all of my Cydia apps, and I'm ok with that. I don't want to have to re-load all of my apps that I got through the app store though or lose all of my settings. When I upgraded to 2.2.1 and unlocked and jailbroke I thought I did a back-up and restore, but all that were saved were my settings. I had to go back and re-load all of my apps. Is there a way to upgrade, jailbreak, and unlock without having to re-load all of my stuff? I guess I just did it incorrectly last time? Is there a step-by-step or something somewhere?
I had one little problem about two weeks after I bought it, where it suddenly froze up and then shut off and wouldn't turn back on for several hours until I connected it to my computer. Over the passed couple of weeks, I've started having trouble with it.It started as just being slow to connect to internet and to place calls, but it has steadily worsened to the point that I am randomly dropping service in places I've never had a problem with before. I keep dropping calls or calls won't go through at all, and the call quality has gone down. Messages also won't go through, and notifications from my apps won't appear. Even in my Facebook app, I'll recieve the red number telling me I have a new notification, but when I touch it, the notifications screen won't refresh. Today, the little "4G" symbol kept changing to the "E" symbol.
I bought laptop, downloaded itunes and have recently synced my phone to it. Now my music is on there but no pictures which is fine. But every time I plug my phone in it tells me that there is an update available for 5.1.1. I click update then it sends me a warning message saying updating the iOs 5.1.1. will delete the apps, media, and including the itunes purchases. To preserve the content update it to the computer where i sync music, apps, photos, and videos. Where and how do I do that and if I've already sync my phone, i think, is it safe to continue the update without losing all my music and pictures on my phone?
Some one please help it's been so long since I've done this
I've had an iPhone 3GS on Orange since April 2010, and am waiting to upgrade until the 5 (or whatever they call it) comes out later this year. I've always had a full 3G signal in my house since I have had my iPhone. Around 3 weeks ago, I suddenly noticed one evening that I had no signal, I put it down to a local reception problem or something and ignored it. Later that evening though, I realised that my wife, who has a Blackberry Curve also on Orange, still had a full signal. I also have an iPad 2 3G on Orange, which had full signal still, and then my brother came round with his iPhone 4 on Orange and again had full signal.
The next day I was driving to work and suddenly my signal reappeared, pinging in half a dozen texts and missed call alerts etc. Then when I arrived at work (where I usually get 2-3 bars of signal) again my phone showed No Signal. One of my colleagues has an iPhone 4 on Orange, and sitting on the table right next to my phone was getting 3 bars of 3g signal, where I had nothing. Walking around the town on my lunch break I managed to get 1 bar up and get a text in.
Over the last few weeks this pattern has repeated. I can still go to some places where I can get a full 3g signal. Sometimes I'm driving and the signal comes in for a while then goes. Sometimes I go to larger towns and get a full signal easily. However mostly for the last 3 weeks I'm getting no signal. When at home, if I go out of my house.
I have tried a normal restore, a reset and a DFU reset. Funnily enough these all seem to make it suddenly work again at home for about half an hour, then it disappears again. I've read about some people having a problem with jailbroken phones, but this phone never has been. I'm guessing there could be something wrong with the internal ariel, but it puzzles me why it still sometimes picks up a signal. Is there a signal amplifier in the phone that could have gone wrong and it's making it harder to find the signal?
I have received multiple errors from my iPhone 5 that say No SIM card installed. When this happens the phone and cellular data don't work. When I power the phone down and start it back up it works ok. What should I do?
Why can't I just add a ringtone from my desktop to my iphone without it deleting the other ringtones I have on the iphone?
My macbook recently crashed and my gf lost the ringtones she had on it. She made some new ones and wanted to sync them to my iphone, but the iphone wants to delete her old ringtones because they are no longer on my computer. This seems sort strange.
Also, I originally sync'd my phone up to my macbook, but later hooked it up to my desktop to try and delete some apps. lo and behold, it deleted a few apps, rearranged my icons, and deleted some critical info from my calendar.
I had never had problems using Windows software, but maybe I am missing something or is this extremely un-intuitive?
What are the basic ways to do this without losing things on the iphone?
Ok so my POS PC crashed on me and I finally bought a MacBook Pro. The only problem is there any way I can sync my iPhone 3g to my new computer without losing everything? I don't have a way to retrieve the back up from my old PC but I did an update to OS 3.1.2 for my phone on my new mac book and it said it did a back up first. (BTW that took like 10 hours for some reason) So if it did a back up why is none of the info on my new iTunes? Please help me figure this out.
I had my 3G without issue but am having a VERY annoying issue with reception. I never seem to lose reception when I actually have it, but it pops up when I go in elevators/underground/etc.
More than half the time, when I come back out I don't have reception nad it stays that way. Sometimes it seems to pick it up within 15 minutes, other imes it can lose the reception for HOURS and I have to either restart or sometimes fiddling with 3g toggle/carrier search will fix the issue. When I've been out in the open it's been "Seraching..." and finding nothing, going to "No service".
