My iPhone 4 seems to sporadically lose its connection to my WiFi network now after the update. I'll be using it, and then suddenly notice that I'm on Edge (no 3G where I'm at currently). Then it will ask me to rejoin. I didn't have any issues on the last version of the firmware so just wondering if anyone else is having WiFi trouble.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night around 10:00pm ET I was using my3G and facetime while i was out. This morning, Cydia had a couple updates, one of them being Mobile Substrate. After updating Cydia, I can no longer get Facetime to work. It attempts to connect, but then call failed.I tried on 3G and WiFi, with no luck. ANyone else having this issue? I tried rebooting, disable and re-enable facetime, and reset network settings. UPDATE: In the Phone settings, it now says "Facetime ON. Activation Unsuccessful. Turn on facetime and try again and it repeats with attempting to activate.

I updated both Iphone 4's to 5.1.1. and now whether related or not both phones are wonky dropping WIFI in the house. It comes on and off when it pleases. I looked at the time capsule for WIFI settings and all seems fine. My Ipad2 works fine and AppleTV gen2 works fine just both Iphones. My network shows up in the WIFI list and when I touch to log in it says network is unavailable.

I had updated my phone a while back and the wifi has been hit or miss ever since but still could connect enough not to do anything about it.  Don't know why but since my husband updated his phone and connected it to the iTunes account we share none of us can connect to wifi at all. (his will connect but then go back to 3G very quickly). I've tried resetting network settings but it doesn't work. I don't get the option to "forget network".Â

(c) The only way to completely ensure that your iPhone will not revert to a cellular data connection is to turn it completely off. You (obviously) will not be able to receive calls, however.
Large data transactions in the middle of the night: Unusually large 'chunks' of data that are apparently sent around midnight are a related issue. You may think that you could avoid these mystery charges by making sure you have a WiFi connection running at night. A number of 'czars' on AT&T's site stated, however, that this is are simply an artifact of AT&T's billing system, which "aggregates" transactions that occur throughout the day into one summary charge, which is posted in the middle of the night. If this is accurate, the data connection(s) you use throughout the day will determine how large this 'summary' transaction will be.
Note: Our bill does not appear to square with AT&T's explanation. For example:
