Just signed up w/Consumer Cellular and phone and texting works fine. Unable to get my Torch 9800 configured to their data provider (server) and their Tech Support isn't much help. They, of course, would like to sell me a new smart phone.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi am not able to connect my N8 to OVI Suite since I installed the Windows 8 Consumer Preview operating system. My USB port is working fine as I am able to charge and connect in media transfer mode. It just doesn't work when the OVI suite mode is enabled.how I can work around this please. I use OVI suite a lot as I do most of my messaging through the PC. When will Nokia release a new edition of the OVI Suite that will work well with Windows 8. On once occasion, I was able to reinstall OVI suite by right clicking and selecting Windows 7 in compatibility settings and by running the program as administrator. However, even that doesn't seem to be working anymore.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince acquiring a G4 recently I've noticed something weird going on with the phone's battery stats report. For some reason the Phone App is always listed as the highest battery consumer, even in circumstances when the screen should definitely be at the top with upwards of 4 hours of SOT.
Here's a shot from today after being off a full charge for about 15 hours and 1.5 hours of SOT (a good chuck of this was overnight idle).
This is happening on every full recharge even after rebooting and full charging in an off state.
However, the GSam report looks much more normal and closer to what I would expect to see

So I got my first ever iPhone and it's the iPhone 4. I have the 200mb plan and I plan to switch cellular data off most of the time if wifi is available to avoid overage. Thing is, with cellular data off, I can't do certain things (ex. Receive picture messages via the Messages app) unless I turn on cellular data. So as long as wifi is available, will my phone still use up cellular data even though it can get data off the wifi? Thanks.
I apologize if I failed to look up any threads on a similar subject. I did a quck search but they weren't really what I was looking for.

My partner is in the US for the week. She has turned off Cellular Data in Settings → General → Network to avoid exorbitant data costs yet when I reply to her SMS messages my messages are sent as iMessages, which she can't now receive. She's also turned off iMessage in Settings → Messages but so far my messages still default to iMessages instead of SMS. She's having this problem with other people as well, no doubt because their iPhones keep trying to send her iMesssages.
I know that I can turn of iMessage on my phone and that lets me successfully send her SMSs but I wonder if there's something she can do at her end to make SMS the default for everyone who is trying to reply to her. I've also tried Settings → General → Reset Network Settings but it hasn't solved the problem.

My phone keeps saying "Searching" on top, and because of that I think it's causing my phone to lag. Buttons become unresponsive and so do tapping on them on screen. It starts freezing up and I think it's because it's attempting to get a signal with Sprint.

My iPhone keeps being disconnected from the cellular carrier (AT&T), as well as wi-fi, and keeps asking me to restore, I did plenty of times, yet no luck. I talked to and AT&T representative, and they said Apple would replace my 3gs with the most current model (4s). I do have Apple Care. Is this true, and if there is a price, how much?

I have an iPhone 4 on 7.1.2. Ever since the beginning of this week, my cellular data was going off & on, until someday, it won't turn back on.
I turn on my Cellular Data, but there's no 3G status icon nor can I connect to anything. There's no error messages also.
I'm still under my data limit. I also did everything in this: iPhone: Troubleshooting a cellular data connection.

I have some random iPhone application transferring tons of data from my phone, even when the phone is asleep. It appears to happen once per day, around 5-6pm and for example last night it 'sent' 75mb of data out. At a 200mb cap, this is pretty scary. How can I find out which app is doing this? AT&T was useless and suggested Apple was doing this. Even though all of our iphone updates are manual, and that would be a 'receive' not a send. It's an iPhone 4 running the latest operating system.
