I used Typing Genius to enable the Emoji Emoticons on my iPhone 3G, but it no longer works on my iPhone 4. I wonder if the developers of typing genius just need to do an update or if Apple blocked this.
Anyone else able to get the emoticons working?
The Emoji keyboard is not coming up for me. Anyone else encountered this yet? Is it not iOS4 friendly or is there a work around I've missed?

One thing, among other things, that I think is missing is the ability to type in different font types....such as bold, italic...then times new roman, helvetica, comic sans, etc. With how powerful the iPhone is, don't you think it should be an option? I really don't think that is material for iOS5, but just as an extension of iOS4. Post what other things are missing....widgets, whatever...

And people are saying that the new emojis show up on the iOS 5.1 update, u already updated mine and my emoji is the same??? Does anyone know what I need to do to get them? Or exactly what app it is? I installed the Emoji-free app (IIRC from the official app store), and while I can send texts to myself I can't to other iphones. I get the error "Free Msg: Unable to send message to XX. Please try again without a symbol in the text."
Does the recipient of the text have to have Emoji installed as well? Or is this a T-mobile/jailbreak thing?

Actually this problem happened when it was a new iPhone. I am using iPhone 5S and iOS 7.Firstly, I have to say I am sure I already installed the emoji keyboard.
At the begining, I cannot see the emoji when in lock screen, they all change into '!!', but fortunately I could see it inside the app. So it did not confused me. The nightmare was happened after I updated my whatsapp today, all I received emoji inside the app also change into '!!'. However, I could see emoji send from an iPhone. So now I am wondering wether is my phone's problem or whatsapp's problem.

How do I enable Emoji on the Iphone text messaging built in
app? It shows up on my emails, notes, but not on my text messages.
Am I missing something?
I've had this problem for a while, but with the new iOS emojis, it's become even more obvious. In some messaging apps such as Line and Kakaotalk, if an iPhone user sends me an emoji, I get a blank square instead of the emoji, even though when I copy and paste into Google and search, the emojis show up in the browser. This is a very tedious workaround, though, when I want to just see the emoji and be able to respond right away.
Is there any way I could fix this and have it show the emoji? My S5 is unrooted at the moment but I don't mind rooting it if it is part of the solution.
Are there any other carriers and phones that can receive Emoji besides iPhones?

I have searched the Communities, and think encoding of emoji may be change from iOS5, but whether it changed again on iOS5.1?

My factory unlocked iPhone 4S on T-Mobile cant receive Emoji icons from an ATT iPhone. Instead I see a bunch of weird symbols, but the ATT iPhone can receive emoji's from my phone. Also some of my friends have a verizon iPhone and I can receive their Emoji icons, and they can receive mine. At one point I was able to receive emoji icons from ATT iPhones.

Was having MAJOR 3G issues with my iPhone 4. Couldnt get anything to download, complete and total data loss etc... Would format my Phone and use it for a while with no issues whatsoever. As soon as I would install and enable emoji from the app store my 3G would degrade to nothing. Each and every time I would format and then install this, it would go nuts.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone else is getting this bug. My iPhone gets into a state where in the Photos app, I am unable to change the screen orientation to landscape. This is only in the Photos app - Safari continues to work just fine on this front.
The only way I have found to resolve the issue is the restart the phone, and then it works again.
This is not the first bug I've found in Photos in iOS4/iPhone 4 the library can be slow to update, sometimes requiring me to close and reopen the app.

I am able to create folders, but for some reason I cannot multitask at all, and my friends cameras now work much faster than mine, which has stayed at the speed it always was. The upgrade to version 4.0 has only given me the ability to create folders, and absolutely nothing else.
