Everytime I set the sound I want as my text message notification sound and I go to the following screen it's set it automatically to "default (dahlia)". It won't play the song even though when I try to change it again it's still selected on the list. I checked my file manager and the songs I want are in the notifications folder.

I am using iTunes Match on my iPhone, which is great, however I sometimes would like to play only the songs I already have downloaded on my iPhone instead of streaming them. Is there a way to play just whatever is on your iPhone

The album for the band U2 spontaneously appeared on my iphone. I don't have them in my itunes and have never downloaded their album. When I try to delete it on my phone it doesn't allow me, and its not in my itunes. The album appears when I connect my phone to my PC. I want these songs deleted but I dont know how? I've tried taking all my songs off my phone, everything is removed but this U2 album remains?

I bought two whole albums off of iTunes the other day from my Mac. They downloaded, and synced to my iPhone. These albums can play on my iPhone normally but there are also duplicates with the symbol as described above, except with no art work and they will not play.I am a user of iCloud, but not iTunes Match. All the songs are properly downloaded on my Mac, and there are no available downloads. I've tried hard reset as well and powercycling my phone. I've closed down the music and tried restarting. Everything is all up to date, and I've tried taking these two albums off then back on my iPhone, but that didn't do anything. These songs are already downloaded and I just checked for downloads and there's nothing to be downloaded

My iphone 4s has been updated to the iOS 5.1.1. Since then it will not play music or give a text message alert sound. We have restored the phone, we have toggled the mute switch, and we have rebooted using the home button and power down and nothing has worked. The volume does not adjust, there is no sound bar when pressing the sound control buttons along the side of the phone. When double tapping the home button on lock screen there is no sound bar. It will ring on incoming calls and the Speaker phone does work while in call. All of the volume controls will work correctly when the headphones are in music plays, text tone works, video sound works but as soon as they are removed it reverts back.

i have an xperia x8 and have recently updated to the 2.1. I cannot access ANY donwnloaded songs I had before the update. I had used the old 'back up and restore' feature, but came across the 'updated' version before going to 2.1 The message says, 'song_title.dcf File cannot be unlocked'.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just updated my iPhone 4s to the iOS 5.1. I use iTunes match so my music will sync across my devices. I was playing a playlist on it in my car yesterday via my Griffin iTrip and it was working fine. But then when I disconnected the phone to go to work that playlist won't work now. I've tried deleting the playlist and then recreating it under a different name and NOW some of the songs that were on both playlists won't play. It acts like it's playing, but no sound is coming out. It also is randomly skipping some of the songs.

I have an iPhone 4S. The software on the iPhone is up-to-date (iOS 5.1). My iTunes software (PC) also is up-to-date (10.6.1).I connect the iPhone to the computer. When the iPhone appears in iTunes I choose the option to sync "selected playlists, artists, albums, genres " in the Sync music area.I choose a single playlist. I sync. I then see the playlist under the iPhone (in iTunes). The songs are listed. However, 90% of the songs are grayed out. Only a few songs appear as normal entries. Still in iTunes (but under my iPhone), if I double click on any of those gray entries nothing happens.
Now to the iPhone itself: if I look at the same playlis on the iPhone (iPhone no longer connected to iTunes) I can see all of the songs listed. However, the only songs that will play are the songs that were not grayed out in the list in iTunes

Music that is not in my current iTunes will not play, and some are grayed out. Some music that was from my iTunes will work like music from cds, but mp3's wont. What I mean when I say not on my current iTunes, is that I had to switch computers due to mine breaking, so I lost all the music from that itunes and had to switch to a new computer. So the deleting and syncing trick will not work since I don't have the music anymore. Its bull if I seriously cant get my music and have to re-download everything. I thought the music would stay on the phone, even if switching computers. Is there any way to get my music to play again?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently found problems with downloads certain songs. Specifically the artists Chromium, Deas Vail, Celldweller and Hawthorne Heights. What happens is I download them as usual the whole file downloads with no errors BUT the songs are firstly filed incorrectly on the P.C (not in folders of artist and album). Secondly they don't have any metadata/ info embedded in the file (artist album publisher etc) and Finally but most importantly they don't play, not on my winamp or nokia media player. If I use nokia media player an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle appears next to the Song. This has only happened with those artists so far. I'm using a Nokia N8 unlimited Music subscription.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of problems with My Music. When connecting to my computer (iMac) over wi-fi or 3g I can access the files and stream without a problem but recently I decided to download an album to my phone and although it showed all 10 songs downloaded in the notifications bar, only 2 songs appeared in the app. I tried repeating the process, again it was downloading for a while and showed all as done, but nothing new appeared in the album. I checked the location of the files and they're there - really no idea what the problem could be. I rebooted the phone - nothing.
I noticed that some of the files are mp3 and some m4a but in both types there's more than 2 files so compatibility rather unlikely. The music app is incredibly slow, even when playing files from the phone, not over the internet. I posted a separate discussion on the phone being really slow in comparison with iOS5, but I notice it especially with My Music. Does anyone else have the same problem and is there a solution? Something in settings maybe? I'm new to Android so it's likely no answer will be to basic.
How do I get greyed out songs to play on my Iphone 4?

I've recently encountered a problem on my iPhone 4S
Essentially a small number of songs I purchased on the device have been duplicated as weird 'phantom' songs that don't play, don't have the artwork attached and have a weird 'stop' symbol next to each song. I cannot swipe to delete these songs on the device. I have removed all the music from the device and iTunes tells me there is precisely 0GB of audio on the device. There is nothing in my download queue on the device. While not a big deal, it's just a bit irritating, as every time I go to play the actual albums on the device, these 'phantom' songs appear in the tracklist, duplicating the actual songs, and halting the playback when it skips to them.

With a group of songs downloaded during a short period of time (within a week,) the sound will completely cut off halfway through, but the song will keep playing. These are all songs downloaded with ITunes. It even happens on my computers iTunes. I've synced a bunch since then, and it has not resolved the problem at all.

Now, the songs are on my iphone 4S with the cloud logo next to them, but the original files no longer exist, so they just sit there. I just bought 9 songs from Amazon music download and added them to my iTunes library. I've done this before and my previous Amazon purchased music has always and still plays fine. After syncing my new music with my iPhone I found I couldn't play these 9 songs (they play fine on my Mac in itunes, just not on my phone). They have the red square in red circle symbol next to them (see screen shot) and when I tap on one to play it just skips to the next song without the red square in red circle.

This just started with one of the recent updates.. some of the songs that I purchased in iTunes won't play on my iPhone 5s and also have the wrong artwork.Â
I've tried a resetting, manually adding, deleting from phone, iTunes and iCloud... and then re-importing. Nothing works.
