This just started with one of the recent updates.. some of the songs that I purchased in iTunes won't play on my iPhone 5s and also have the wrong artwork.Â
I've tried a resetting, manually adding, deleting from phone, iTunes and iCloud... and then re-importing. Nothing works.
I cannot play my songs on iPhone. In trying, I'll choose a song, but another will show up, but will not play. I was told to unsync music purchased and then re-sync. How do I unsync?

I plugged my iphone 5s in to itunes and for a minute, it wouldn't let me do much. Then I noticed, once it was done doing whatever it was, that some albums were wrong. For example, Ain't It Fun by Paramore shows the Backstreet Boys album. As Long As You Love Me by Backstreet Boys shows Katy Perry, Black Balloon by The Goo Goo Dolls shows Nelly's Just A Dream.Â
This is the second time this has happened. Last time, I just deleted the songs and redownloded them, which did work, but this time there are way too many messed up. Plus, I'd rather know what's going on so it doesn't happen again.Â

Not all but few songs from an album I purchased on my iphone are no longer availble. They are grey. I synced my phone with mac and the songs don't play on the mac either through my itunes. I simply hit sync. Is there an option I can choose so that the music I purchased will play?

I cannot delete purchased tunes off my iphone 4s. I do not have imatch and I disabled the cloud from my phone. I use 2 different computers and I think this causes problems (which has nver happened in the past). I am beyond frustrated because I downloaded these songs for a wedding and I hate the music! My phone won't let me swipe the songs to even give me the option to hit delete. I believe they are all on the cloud, but I don't use the could and I have disabled "show all music" in my music settings. I even deleted all my songs from my storage and resynced my library with the computer that I didn't use to buy the songs with.Â

I've used the manual option and selected the artists, genres, etc. that I still want, but the deleted songs keep appearing. I bought these songs off of the iTunes store I didn't use my iPhone. I don't have the iTunes Match option turned on my phone, nor do I use iCloud. I don't know what else to do besides manually selecting all of my songs and putting them into a folder, deleting the blasphemous songs that I don't want anymore, deleting my iTunes library and resetting my iPhone and copying the songs from the folder back into my iTunes library.

I just updated my iPhone 4s to the iOS 5.1. I use iTunes match so my music will sync across my devices. I was playing a playlist on it in my car yesterday via my Griffin iTrip and it was working fine. But then when I disconnected the phone to go to work that playlist won't work now. I've tried deleting the playlist and then recreating it under a different name and NOW some of the songs that were on both playlists won't play. It acts like it's playing, but no sound is coming out. It also is randomly skipping some of the songs.

I have an iPhone 4S. The software on the iPhone is up-to-date (iOS 5.1). My iTunes software (PC) also is up-to-date (10.6.1).I connect the iPhone to the computer. When the iPhone appears in iTunes I choose the option to sync "selected playlists, artists, albums, genres " in the Sync music area.I choose a single playlist. I sync. I then see the playlist under the iPhone (in iTunes). The songs are listed. However, 90% of the songs are grayed out. Only a few songs appear as normal entries. Still in iTunes (but under my iPhone), if I double click on any of those gray entries nothing happens.
Now to the iPhone itself: if I look at the same playlis on the iPhone (iPhone no longer connected to iTunes) I can see all of the songs listed. However, the only songs that will play are the songs that were not grayed out in the list in iTunes

What I mean when I say not on my current iTunes, is that I had to switch computers due to mine breaking, so I lost all the music from that itunes and had to switch to a new computer. So the deleting and syncing trick will not work since I don't have the music anymore. Its bull if I seriously cant get my music and have to re-download everything. I've recently encountered a problem on my iPhone 4S
Essentially a small number of songs I purchased on the device have been duplicated as weird 'phantom' songs that don't play, don't have the artwork attached and have a weird 'stop' symbol next to each song. I cannot swipe to delete these songs on the device. I have removed all the music from the device and iTunes tells me there is precisely 0GB of audio on the device. There is nothing in my download queue on the device. While not a big deal, it's just a bit irritating, as every time I go to play the actual albums on the device, these 'phantom' songs appear in the tracklist, duplicating the actual songs, and halting the playback when it skips to them.

Now, the songs are on my iphone 4S with the cloud logo next to them, but the original files no longer exist, so they just sit there. I just bought 9 songs from Amazon music download and added them to my iTunes library. I've done this before and my previous Amazon purchased music has always and still plays fine. After syncing my new music with my iPhone I found I couldn't play these 9 songs (they play fine on my Mac in itunes, just not on my phone). They have the red square in red circle symbol next to them (see screen shot) and when I tap on one to play it just skips to the next song without the red square in red circle.
