May 22, 2014In my old Xperia phone, I can create Direct Dial shortcut on Home Screen. In which the icon displayed for the shortcut is the photo in the Contact. However, after I changed to the new Z2, the photo can't be displayed as icon on the Home Screen.

Sep 6, 2014My iphone 4s rings at 2am in the morning. The main screen does not show a call coming in, it never shows a received or missed call so there is no phone number so i cant block it. If i shut down the phone down and turn it back on before bed it seems to work and doesn't ring. I cant shut the phone off or put it on vibrate because i have an elderly mother who lives down stairs so i need to hear the phone ring if she needs me for something. I thought maybe i should reset or restore the phone but was hoping there was an easy solution.

Mar 26, 2010So I've read all the other threads and I realize my issue is that since I recently switched over the Outlook, when I sync my contacts it also sync's my photos and now I wind up with this little crappy photos, which I don't want. I like that my contacts get sync'd so I always have a duplicate copy, but is there anyway to sync contacts without having it copy the pictures over? Or am I screwed? Before I used outlook express which can't sync photos, I never had an issue with that, however Outlook will not use the same contact formats

Mar 21, 2012I've been searching and searching on how to change to contact photo size when you make a call or receive a call. I prefer to see the small thumbnail in the upper left corner as opposed to the entire screen being taken up by the contact's photo. After checking multiple threads on this website every answer states that when you use the Address Book on the Mac it syncs the small thumbnail and when you apply the photo on the iPhone it displays the full screen photo size for the contact. Well this solution is not working for me. I've tried deleting the contact's photo then applying them using the Address Book on my Mac and after they sync with iCloud and I make a call it still displays as a full screen photo.

Jun 21, 2012I have a iPhone 4 with the latest iOS. When I add a contact to my phone, I choose a contact picture from the photo library. I make a test call to the number, and the photo appears full size. The moment I leave the contact screen and try to make a test call again (for example, adding the contact to my favorites and using a favorite link to make a test call) the picture appears as a thumbnail. This happens immediately and to every contact I have. I sync the contact list with Google contacts.

When this contact sends me an sms I only get his name, how can i see the number he is sending me that sms from? so in simpler words I want to inverse the process and instead of showing me the contact name I want my iphone to show me the phone number of the sms sender. Because oddly enough I haven't found anyone having this query online although I imagine lots of people have contacts with multiple phone numbers attached to them and inevitably sometimes you want to know which number that contact is using to send you an sms from! Feb 26, 2010I have this weird problem on my 3GS. This is what happens:
1. Someone calls me from number not in my contacts.
2. I go to my "recents" and click the arrow, and then "create new contact".
3. I type a name (Lyle) and click "save".
4. In "recents" the number now shows up as "Lyle", everything seems ok.
5. In the "contacts app" Lyle does not exist. Therefore also does not sync with mobileme.
If I add a contact in the contact app itself, everything works fine.

Nov 2, 2011Been a happy Sprint user since 2005 and have used various dumb phones and smartphones. The Photon is my 3rd Android.I have noticed that each phone , whether smartphone or not, has the same issue that has caused me to miss incoming phone calls here and there - the caller dials my number and hears several rings before my phone actually starts ringing. The phone goes to voicemail before I have the opportunity to answer the phone.The solution for my phones has always been to adjust the Slot Cycle index from the default setting of 2 to the setting of 0. This causes the phone to poll towers more frequently, thus the phone is more quickly aware of a new incoming call. The only negative implication is that the phone goes through battery a bit more quickly during the day...but it's really only a tiny difference. I've done this on my phones, on my spouse's phones, my mom's phone, etc.
Since the Photon's battery life is so much better than my prior phone (EVO 4G) I am very comfortable in adjusting the Slot Cycle index, so I obtained my MSL from Sprint and attempted the adjustment by going to the Dialer:##DATA# ->tap green Dial icon -> to the Data Settings menu...tap Advanced->From there you can see that the Slotted Index is set to 2. So I wanted to change the setting but can't get to it from Menu->Edit->enter MSL code->VerifyI called Sprint about this issue, and in the past they have helped me to change the setting. I have called more than once and have been dealing with the more advanced Tech Support team. No one at Sprint can figure out how to adjust this setting on the Photon.

Feb 13, 2015I have a Google Nexus 5 running Android 5.0.1 and have recently noticed that the time assigned to pictures taken with my phone are all time-stamped five hours later than when the pictures were actually taken. By time stamped I mean the time shown when I pull up the picture's details.
Given that it's exactly five hours off it seems to me that it's probably a time-zone issue. However, I've checked the settings on my phone under Settings/Date & Time and although both the date and time are set to Automatic Date & Time and Automatic Time Zone, the grayed out text below are showing the correct date, time and time zone. This makes sense since my phone displays the correct date and time across the board except for the photo details.Is this something that can be fixed by adjusting some settings I'm not aware of?
