IPhone :: Cant Send/receive Email On Wifi - 3G Works Fine
Jun 27, 2012
I cant send or recieve email on my iPhone / iPad when on WIFI - when I turn off WIFI, it all works fine on 3G. I tried to delete my exchange-account, and then both gmail accounts works fine on wifi. Any thoughts? or rather; I think maybe it sends/recieves, but it takes a very long time.
My husband is in France with his brand new iPhone 4s (Verizon) and cannot make a call or receive one. The wi-fi works so he can use email but no voice. Verizon says his sim is activated for global but so far ha been of no use.
i just purchased a replacement bb bold 9000 off ebay (it's an unlocked at&t handset that i bought after my bb bold got stolen... total bummer) and it was working fine all week up until last night when it stopped being able to handle incoming and outgoing calls and texts. The internet and email functions still work which is very peculiar. also some further info, when i put my sim card into another handset (in this case a nokia e65) all my normal call functions work and when i put another sim card in the bold the same thing happens (when i try to make a call it instantly pops up with a call failed warning). another thing is the bold shows full service coverage... currently the bold about shows... v4.6.0.304 (Platform 4.0.0.247) im on australia and for some reason i cant update the os to v5
I recently dropped my White Iphone 4s down a toilet on a night out!!! I quickly picked it up and took it home and dryed in off and placed it in a bowl of rice and a few days later everything was fine and working just like normal apart from some water under the screen. Also the Wi-Fi option on my iphone just isn't displayed and greyed out.
I have also recently updated the software on the phone to the new 5.1.1 which i have seen there has been problems with about the wi-fi dropping and not being displayed. I would just like some advice if anyone else has had this problem and if which i think it probably is, the hardware has become loose inside the phone and its not the software.
I have a Linxys router that works fine with my PC, Xbox, ipad, google chrome and Television. For some reason mine and my wife's iphone 4s iOS 7.1.1 will not connect all of the time. It either will tell me, "unable to connect" or it will connect to the wifi but internet will not work on the phones. This always happens in the evening. The phones will work sometimes during the day. I have logged into the router and there are no other devices connected to the wireless other than the ones that I have in my house. I also have a "guest network" that has always been turned off. All of my other devices always work while the iphones won't connect.
I have an Iphone 4S and have added my home internet email account to the phone. I am able to send and receive emails while connected to my ATT netowrk but I am unavle to send and recieve emails while connected to a WiFi. How can I get my Iphone to send and receive emails while connected to a WiFi?
I Can send i messages to other phones but my daughter can't send or receive them. As far as I know she hasn't changed any settings . Text messages are fine though.
I have the x10 and i can send picture messages perfectly fine with no problems, but i cant recieve them, people try sending me them and i get absolute nothing at all
I am trying to use Nokia Messaging (v10.2.0.4) on a 5800 (v50.0.005). I set up an IMAP mailbox to sync. My subscription with the GSM operator includes the Nokia Messaging service.I can download messages if I tap send/receive, but automatic sync does not work.If I set the sync time to Push Mail, I can see a green ring on the screen. I assume it means there is a live connection. But messages do not arrive. If I set the sync time to 15 minutes, the ring becomes grey and crossed. Every 15 minutes it changes to green and rotates. I assume it means new messages are downloaded. But they are not.
Again, if I tap Send/receive, new messages arrive.I also tried to configure a Gmail mailbox. The situation is the same. Manual send/receive works, automatic sync does not.How could I get automatic sync to work?
I have noticed that i am unable to send an email to a person if i enter the email in the TO: section of the compose email. If i am replying to an email or clicking on a link like craigslist it works fine. If i am sending the email to a contact with a stored email address it works fine.
But if i just enter the email address for instance JRSpero@gmail.com the little send box in the upper right corner is not bright and is not able to be selected.
I am having problems with my almost new iPhone3gs.I get sound on calls, alarms, all the basic utilities and the speakerphone even works. But I can only get sound on apps(Netflix, games, videos, etc.)if I pluc in headphones.I reset my phone, checked settings, and no luck,I called Apple and they said to bring to Apple store,
No sim on my iphone 4 status bar, works fine for few minutes after re-inserting SIM or restarting phone, but after a certain time reverts back to same situation, updated software still no respite.
I am having email problems. I have several email accounts. I receive email on all of them, but can't send on all of them. Not even a reply. The email accounts that work are gmail and [URL]The accounts that don't send are: 1 account hosted by GoDaddy, and a few accounts on my 2 domains [URL] and [URL] all of these accounts work fine on my laptop via outlook 2007. The place that houses my 2 domains said they don't know why I am having this problem.
So lately when I sychorinze new songs onto my phone they new ones are all greyed out and won't play. They work fine on iTunes I don't understand what's wrong? Please help!
I had an authorized seller replace the broken screen on my iPhone 4S, but now the bottom dock of icons is unresponsive. Weird thing is that I can't access the icons on the dock, nor open the lantern / calculator / clock / camera on the icons when I pull up the quick menu, but aside from that, that part of the screen works ... I can use the keyboard completely, you name it, everything except the icons on the dock and the bottom ones on the pull up menu !
The guy who fixed my screen said it must be a software glitch, but I've restarted and restored the phone (from backup and as a new one) and the problem is still there !
Any chance he messed up something while changing the screen ?
Also, iPhone isn't (and has never been) jailbroken or anything of the sorts
When out of range of wireless service but on a wi-fi network with internet access, should it be possible to still send/receive text messages? It seems to work fine with iMessage recipients but not others.
I am having extreme difficulty in setting up one of my email accounts on my iPhone 5c. The email in question is a centurylink email account ending in @q.com. When I use the mail settings lookup, this is what it tells me to do: Incoming Mail Server:
Account Type: POP Username: xxxxxxxx@q.com Server hostname: mail.q.com Server port: 110 Authentication: Password Outgoing Mail Server: Username: xxxxxxxx@q.com Server hostname: smtp.q.com Server port: 587 Authentication: Password SSL: yes
When I “pull down” on the screen to get mail, the latest mail that has come is from 5/20/14. Today is 6/21/14. When I repeat the process, it says at the bottom of the screen “Updated Just Now”, but no new emails come in. Yet, on my email on my computer, there are over 100 since 5/20/14. I can send, and it downloads the sent messages to my phone just fine. I just cannot receive messages later than 5/20/14 for some reason. How to receive email?
I have 2 email accounts set up on my Iphone - Hotmail & Mail. Both are receiving mail but cannot send anything. It just puts the message in my outbox and says Relaying Denied.
