IPhone :: Can't Get ITunes To Confirm Unlock From AT&T
Apr 21, 2012
I've confirmed with AT&T that it's authorized to unlock. They said contact AppleCare. They want $30 Before they will even transfer call. Any other way to confirm unlock?
I've been trying to unlock my AT&T iPhone 4 and went through all the procedures with the carier, got the confirmation email from Apple, and have been trying to do the backup restore through iTunes... but haven't gotten the confirmation message in iTunes that the phone is unlocked. I've been restoring from backup, which I think is what I'm supposed to do.I'm trying to avoid the $30 tech support call since my phone is no longer and I'm already outside the US.
I talk to AT&T yesterday and they said since I was a loyal customer I was eligible for the full upgrade for this phone which would be $299.Can anyone confirm that the Reserved email that Apple is sending out is just saying the full retail price, then when you pick the phone up you will be charged the upgrade price? Please help
Recently unlocked my iphone 3gs through att. Did the process, everything seemed to go fine, but I can't tell if it's unlocked or not. People say the way to tell is to put in another sim card, so I put in a chinese sim card and it said no service. Havent used that sim card in a year, so it may be deactivated. I dont have any other sim cards now, but want to use it with a new sim card this summer. The only difference I can tell with the phone is that in settings, there was an option to select carrier, is this an indication that the phone is unlocked?
I have a new iphone 4 which was provided as part of a new business contract through a telecoms company not Orange. The Orange sim came separately. However the 3g web access is painfully bad as compared to my old 3gs iphone on T-mobile. It's pretty much useless in most parts of London.Which brings me to my question. Is there any way of telling if my new iphone4 is unlocked without having to buy a new mini sim card? Any way of checking through the firmware or something?I was seriously thinking there was something wrong with my phone but all my colleagues on Orange also have the same problem. We were out on a course yesterday and I had my old 3gs whilst everyone else had their new iphone4 and I was the only one able to access mail and use the web the whole way there on the train and at the actual centre itself, which a lot of my colleagues were none to pleased about. I presume it's Orange being a bit rubbish and not the new iphone4 having a weaker signal reception?
Last week I was updating some apps on my iphone and suddenly it crashed - pretty bad. Indeed it was the first time my phone ever asked me to be plugged into itunes for a complete restore. So I did. I was a bit nervous because I have over 300 apps on it, all organized in folders and I wasn't entirely sure it would re-install them the same way. so the good news, it did - all in their proper folder, on their proper page. I was missing over 60 apps! When the restore occurred, I noticed it said it was restoring from a backup dated august 2011. I know for a fact that I updated/backed-up my iphone since then, maybe 2 or 3 times, but obviously my backups did not occur as I had thought.
How do I know if my backup is properly done? Is there a place I can check to make sure, or view the backup date? I should say that I had previously noticed that it wasn't taking as long as it should to do the backups - as you can imagine with 300 apps, it takes more than a few minutes. So I did have a flag on the question, but I didn't press it on, and well... i paid the price. (Btw, I did recover all my 62 missing apps by painstakingly going through my itune purchase history - at no extra cost other than my time. the info inputted in some apps was however gone). My iphone is a 3G (I need to upgrade that soon) runs on iOS 4.2.1 (cannot upgrade to iOS 5 with this hardware). I always run the latest itunes (presently version 10.6.1).
I have an iphone4 locked by AT&T. The AT&T Email Customer Care for Wireless had sent email to me, saying "The unlock will be available for your device in 48 hours. After the 48 hour waiting period please follow the instructions below."can I unlock my iphone4 now? How can I confirm my iPhone had been unlocked?
I have 3 iphones (all 3gs using AT&T), as well as 4 macs. I bought two iphones from an ebay seller in Hong Kong, to be used in Russia. These are said to be new and factory unlocked, from the factory in China. They have ios 5.01 and look new. How could I confirm they're factory unlocked and not jailbroken?
When I use voice dial (usually via bluetooth headset on iPhone 3GS), if the iPhone decides it has found an exact match, it will notify me of the match and then start dialing. It does not confirm the match with me, and when it starts dialing, the "Cancel" keyword does not work - nor does pressing the call button on my headset do anything.
Instead, I have to frantically dig my phone out of my pocket and scramble to the phone interface and presss "End Call" before the accidental international call goes through.
Is there a way to allow either or both actions in iOS? Or is there a way to submit an enhancement request?
I tried to unlock my iPhone with redsnow but smth went wrong and now it sais conect to iTunes, but iTunes does not recognize it. iPhone is stuck in conect to iTunes picture.

I recently bought a new strom 9500 from a friend at work, it came with all the trimmings (box, cables, charger etc) and was purportedly used by my friend (who bought it new) before I bought it.When I put a new sim into it (vodaphone contract sim) it reads invalid sim , it shows a box saying "do you want to enter the sim card pin?" with a yes or no option to click, i click yes i want to enter the code, but it won't give me an opportunity to enter a code! Please help i love the phone but cannot use it and i worry that it is blocked!
each time I delete a message, I have to confirm. How can I disable that on the Lumia 920?
Also, I spend a long time trying to figure out why my phone did not come with Nokia Music in denmak, after alomost 1 hour searching on the net, I found out that the service do not exist in Denmark... Why not just have the Nokia Music in the App store and just show a message when people try to install it, saying that its not availble in the user's country?
Is there a simple way for me to tell if I am using the wifi network at home? Is the wifi icon on top right corner of browser the indication. I am trying to make my wife feel comfortable that is OK to surf as she wishes while at home.
I love my Motorola Finiti, but I seem to be having issues with stealth mode.According to the manual, I should get a "stealth mode" prompt when turning the feature on or off. All I hear is two quick beeps. Is there anyway to confirm if stealth mode is enabled/disabled?
I just upgraded from my old Curve 8330 to the Tour 9630, both on Verizon, and I couldn't be happier with my new device -- except for one thing. The Curve had a great "standby" function I could use at night, in which the phone would lock its keyboard and effectively shut down, but still be able to receive calls if one came in. This also saved lots of battery power. After hours' worth of mashing the top "lock" and "mute" buttons on the Tour, and searching through the internal menus, I can't seem to find a similar mode on my new phone.
First: If there's a thread about this already somewhere else, I beg your pardon; I'd be grateful for a link and I'll be on my way there. But if not, does anybody know whether some devices just do not have a standby mode anymore as part of OS 5, or whether there might be something wrong with my phone because its mute key won't activate standby mode?
The key lock button the top left works, but, at least on my Curve, the key lock and standby were two very different things -- I'd lock the keyboard when I put the phone in my pocket, but I'd put it on standby before bed every night. Does key-lock mode on the Tour replace standby?
I've recently moved from Orange to O2 and my iPhone 3GS doesn't recognise the new O2 SIM card. Orange told me that they would send me an unlock code from Apple a month ago. Talked to Orange today and they say I need to get it from O2 but O2 say that's not the case.
