I'm planning on transferring a long stream of messages from my iPhone 4 to my new 4S, but having looked around, there is no clear, adequate solution to do so. Any tips would be great!

I'm using an iMac with OSX 10.6.8, 4 with 5.1.1 and iTunes 10.
I plugged my iPhone 4 into the USB and launched iTunes, it doesn't recognize there is an iPhone plugged in. I plugged in my iPod, another iPhone and another device into the computer and on multiple ports to ensure it wasn't a hardware issue or a USB issue. All other devices were recognized. I tried plugging in my iPhone on my girlfriends computer and it still wasn't recognized. I believe this is a phone issue completely.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've been reading a lot about Nokia Messaging and some sources say that it is a real push email service like BIS but some say that it needs to maintain an active connection all the times to ensure instantenous delivery of email. What's the truth? When I choose 'push' on my Nokia E72, it is connected to the internet all the time and only pretends to be real push, but I was wondering whether it's because my operator is not supported. Also, what difference does it make when your operator supports Nokia Messaging? As far as I know, my operator is not supported, but I easily set up Nokia Messaging with my Nokia E72. So, doesn't it mean that the only thing required for the Nokia Messaging to work is a data plan? Why does Nokia make announcements about starting to offer Nokia Messaging in countries where there already is internet in mobile phones?

Nothing works for me. So please provide any solution if it is actually solves my problem.My problem is one fine bad day, I connected my xperia neo where PC companion is installed on windows xp is not detecting my phone.It rotates rotates rotates and finally says unable to detect phone. and asks to reconnect again.
Nothing was changed in phone or in my pc for this issue. I have tried almost all (mpt clean/cache clean/stop & start, windows media player reinstall, pc companion reintall , update service) etc etc. One thing observed is whenever I clean mtp service and stop service and connects with usb, pc companion is detecting for first time. When I remove again and reconnect, it stops recognizing phone again. CAN I GET A RIGHT SOLUTION ??How can I update to ICS if usb connection is not detecting??? And I don't have blutook in my laptop.

I have a blackberry bold 9000 no issues apart from the yellow circles that are appearing, it also has the digit, "2" next to it. I have gone in to messages/View folder but its empty. Is there any other solution to remove the yellow circles, by the what do they mean?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am the owner of a Sony EricksonE w580i which I am very happy with.However 2 days ago, out of the blue after sending a text I was faced with the message which I had never seen before. " REPLACE SIM OR WATCH DEMO" Despite playing the demo several times and taking out and replacing the sim several times, I was faced with the fact that my phone was locked.On replacing the sim I noticed that it was pushed into position by the battery itself, thats the way it had been set up by the Orange Shop. so it was like on a spring and the battery was pushing it into its working position.And this is the root of the problem. The sim card has to be pushed home until it clicks into position. I have small fingers and I still could not push it to its fully seated and clicked position with my fingers alone.eventually I managed to do it using the edge of a small screwdriver, but even then it took several tries before it clicked home. I believe this is a flawed design as it is not easy to do by any means. And yet using the battery to push the sim to the seated position is the way it was et up for me at point of purchase and this also gave adequate contact for me to get uninterrupted use for several months. But this is NOT correct, the Sim must be clicked and locked into position so it is no longer movable on the spring mechanism.Once it was clicked home - Hey presto ! like magic, everything worked perfectly, only had to reset the date.However, and quite worryingly, when I called the Sony Erickson help line befor I found the magic solution, I was advised that to overcome the locked system and to bypass the dreaded message, I needed to go to the Sony Erickson site, go to support and downloads then click on Update your product software/Update Service.My friendly support advisor said this would overcome the problem but the downside would be that I would lose all my memory ! I would have to start again, Calender, Tasks, Notes, Contacts. everything.This would have been a heavy price to pay, for a non solution ! Clearly the advice was a shot in the dark from the advisor ! I had already downloaded said updates as a matter of course 2 months ago so I was sceptical of solution that SE had suggested.No, this problem is mechanical/circuitry. NOT SOFTWARE !
The sim card is not locked home unless clicked, do not depend on battery pressure. Thus the phone when in "battery pressure mode" may have a circuit or a partial circuit, leaving the user at best to be in my situation to get several months of usage, and then kaputt ! as the circuit is lost and the phone thinks it needs re setting up. and it gives the message you can not get past. or the worst case of continual working /non working scenarios, which are linked to the partial contact and partial circuit.I think this may also be the route cause behind many other of the problems raised on this forum, ie; Phones turning off, or just a red light, or just a slight vibration, or phone behaving like it's dead, or phone locked etc.(from other posts it appears all the above issues are are further "encouraged" by a low battery charge) which seems to be a separate quality issue altogether.So at the end of this ramble - the tip is make absolutely sure the sim card is locked home, be patient, you may have to try many times, but it will click home if you use a tool to assist you, (fingers are not enough) and you may well just solve your problems too.Essentially I think the phone is a very good mid range phone and this design fault may be hugely tainting its performance /likability.If Sony Erickson are listening? they will correct / make easier the sim card clicking action, They will also instruct the help desk to give out the "clicking the SIM card home" advice.Rather than the totally useless - download software advice which will do nothing to create a good circuit, but will ensure lose all your information unless backed up somewhere. And while SE are at it they should also re work the battery life AND the cover panel removal. To get the back panel off is a nightmare and can lead to creating other damage as such excessive forces are required. Not good at all - BAD COVER DESIGN

Trying to do a backup in anticipation of iOS 4 and the backup process still is taking a long time in 9.2.Also, what steps can be taken to increase the speed of the backup? How would you remove items like photos, music, videos and then be able to easily put them back on the iPhone?

I have lost ~20 pictures I took during my family's 4th of July event this weekend. It was the first time they have met my 17 month old daughter. Normally I wouldn't sweat loosing pictures, but these are very important to me.It restored every picture up until the backup I did before I left Sunday morning. I have tried A few different backups, one I made before I erased and synced my phone(new computer, old one was my work computer, no access to it).

I have been backing up an iPhone 4 to iCloud for a while. I then purchased a new iPhone 4 as the old one was damaged, and set it up as a new phone. I haven't got around to setting up icloid backup yet. I now realise I want some data from an app in the old backup. Here is what I propose to do:
1. Backup new iPhone to iCloud
2. Restore new iPhone from old backup
3. Use the app's 'Email me my data feature' to get a copy of the DB
4. Restore new iPhone from new backup
Clearly I can only do this if during step 1 it doesn't overwrite the old backup. Can I have two separate backups?
I just updated to iOS 5.1.1 on my 3GS phone, previously using 5.0, while plugged into the computer and iTunes 10.6.3. I had the phone set to backup to iCloud, and ran a sync operation before updating.Does that not also create a backup?When the restore process began, it asked if I wanted to set up as a new phone or restore from backup. However the list of available backups did not have anything from today.The last one listed was from October 2011.So I cancelled that operation, went through the new phone setup and then it asked if I wanted to restore from iCloud. So I chose the most recent iCloud backup which was from around 6 AM this morning. Now it is in the process of downloading all my apps, pics, and perhaps music as well. I don't know but it's going to take HOURS to finish this.
Anyway I opened some apps that have already downloaded, and some app data appears to be intact. But other apps have nothing after October 2011. And I'm talking apps that have tracked my fitness and workout progress over the past 6 months, bike rides in the past few months, car fuel fillup and maintenance history since October, I'm talking LOTS of data that appears to be gone.What did I do wrong here? Did I not do what I should have done regarding backups? What is the point of backing up to iCloud if it's not going to back up all my app data?

I reflashed all the factory images to my Nexus 6P (except userdata), and then restored a TWRP backup of the data partition. This worked, my phone boots up and obviously has my installed apps, etc. But... on the Nexus 6P when you restart the phone you have to enter your lock pattern or PIN. My phone was previously configured with a pattern. It seems the TWRP data backup didn't backup the lock pattern, because it doesn't recognize my pattern.
My fingerprint is recognized, but on the Nexus 6P you still have to enter the lock pattern or PIN when you first reboot. So, I have no way to get into the phone. I tried setting a new lock screen password with Android Device Manager, but it doesn't work. I still get the screen asking for the lock pattern. Is there any way I can get into my phone without blowing away all the data?
I did a normal backup and just before it finished, a message came up saying the DM could not backup one Theme. I clicked OK and then it comes up with another message and it says Backup completed ... click OK .So is it just one theme that's odd and not being backed up? (which I don't mind) With (hopefully) the rest of my stuff backed up as usual.
