Mar 18, 2012my iphone 4 (ios 5.1) doesn't make a sound on it's speakers when receiving a call or using app.however music plays on speakers as well as some apps like "magic piano". Internet uses speakers correctly, too. vibration works when getting a call, but no sound. turning vibration off doesn't make a difference.testing the ringtone works fine, too, but i don't hear it during a call.when using headphones all apps produce the sound they should and incoming calls play the ringtone, too. changing volume level doesn't make a difference.during a call i can turn on loudspeakers without a problem. mute works as expected, too. but no matter what i do, all incoming calls stay silent and most apps and system sounds like keyboard clicks are muted. i missed numerous calls because of that, so how can i turn the sound back on?

We've tried using *67 but that completely blocks the facetime application from even running. The other idea was to forward from our google voice number to the iPhone but that still displays our personal numbers when we intiate facetime.I know when Apple offered the Facetime demo their phone numbers were blocked when facetime opened. Is there some option we're missing that will allow us to block our number when using facetime?

Apr 5, 2012I can use Skype when connected to Wi Fi without issues (sometimes calls drop but that is another discussion), when I am in my carrier's 3G network I can't place a call (just says "connecting" then the call drops). I checked tmt 3G connection speed with Speedtest and I have 1.5 Mbps upload and download, according to skype's site I only need 100kbps to make a call.
When I use my iPhone as a hotbspot and connect my MacBook pro to my phone, Skype works withou any issues! When doing the same with my new iPad, I get the same issues as with iPhone. Is there a way to know if my carrier is blocking skype service on mobile devices such iPhone or iPad? I don't understand why when I'm connected to my phone as a hotspot there are no issues at all with Skype in my MacBook pro. My guess is my carrier is not playing fair and I would like to know if there is a workaround or a way to confirm they are blocking the service?

All was well but recently I cannot receive calls in any of my apps- Viber/Whatsapp/Kakao/Skype etc. People have been calling me using these apps but it never comes through, it never rings. When I start the app manually I see I have missed calls. Normal calls are fine though.

Jun 4, 2015I was still on kitkat on my xperia z2. One day, when trying to make a call, I just couln't anymore. Basically, I can bring up my contact list, recent calls etc. But when I go to press a contact, which would usually start ringing them, it does nothing. If I manually enter a number with the keypad and press the dial button - the keypad disappears and it isn't dialing.
I tried restarting my phone, which will then allow me to make calls as usual, but as soon as I close the "phone" app and open it back up again, same problem - pressing contacts/ dial buttons etc will just do nothing. Every time I restart my phone I can pretty much call someone once and that's it.
I went in to my apps list and founf something very strange - two standard "Phone" apps. Why there are two now, they are also different sizes (one is 1.11mb and the other is 2.0mb). I obviously cannot disable or uninstall either of them. I don't know if this is the problem.
I have updated to lollipop, thinking maybe that may work, but everything's exactly the same.
