When i turn on my camera facing outwards it is just black and any pictures i take are black. When i invert it the camera works and pictures work. i tried rebooting and updating software and turning my phone off and nothing works.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy 1020's FFC has been working fine until yesterday when I tried to use the FFC and it just showed a black screen and you couldn't press any buttons on the screen, I just had to go back to the home screen to do anything else. The regular camera is working fine. Proximity sensor seems to working fine as well. I have done a soft reset with no luck, about to do a hard reset... It's not a huge deal but I do like my phone to be working at 100%!

The new Facetime looks cool, the only problem is you can only do it with another ip4 owner (and over wifi, at that). What are the chances that Apple will allow a Skype app that will utilize the FF camera? Even if it's only over wifi, it would make the FF camera much more useful.

I was testing the Camera, the rear one worked perfectly fine, however when i pressed the switch button the front facing camera shutter freezed and started flickering. In order to get it back to the rear camera I have to reset my settings.why the front facing camera is doing this and how i can fix it.

I know this may be speculation but this may be the deal breaker for me to get the next phone. I have a child off to college pretty soon who uses skype video regularly with her friends and I will assume with me also. I have actually gotten the skype video to work on my little Nokia N79 fairly well and would like my next phone to also have this capability so I can talk with her when she's away but I am not near my computer.

I just purchased the htc one today, and have loved it so far. Until I sensed it was time for a selfie, and then frustration set in. The first picture I took with the front camera I noticed my head had grown about 3 times its normal size. Like all good selfie takers, I naturally raise my phone to take the picture, but the distortion does not happen when taking a picture straight on. It distorts at the bottom, and top of the picture, and also gets very dark in the same places and unnaturally light in the middle of the frame. The picture quality is also very grainy and slightly blurry.

- I have read a lot of the posts here. Some people claim its the dust entering through the ear vent.
- I used a cannister of pressurised air onit today - and it indeed cleared all the dust out of the camera.
Where did the dust go? I read soemwhere that this blown out dust can wind up under the screen..Could it also end up obstructing the proximity sensor and mess up calls (blanking screen out)?

I was so convinced on buying this phone I forgot to even test it out in-stores to check if the front-facing camera was still an issue like it was on the M7. I also bought it from an online Australian store, but imported, so I can't be bothered returning it. It seems like the S5 and a few other models have this issue?
I have already tried changing the settings by going to crop and then changing it from wide to standard. Standard works to reduce the distortion A BIT, and square is better but still distorted.
These photos are just shocking. I will post them anyway for the sake of science and hilarity. Even the more centered photo stretches my forehead. As if it's not big enough!!
After updating my device to a new software, the front facing camera doesn't work anymore. I just see a black screen and it doesn't take any pictures. I tried resetting the phone, did factory reset and everything, nothing solves the problem. I'm desperate to get this sorted.

My front facing camera very rarely works, the quality of my rear camera has considerably decreased and it seems that the focusing function is also broken.When I presented my problem to sony they told me to reboot the device with the latest software. This temporarily fixed the problem however the cameras were very laggy and still terrible quality! After a week the problem has got worse once again and now neither my front or rear facing camera work.
