IPhone :: 4 Freeze, Only Itunes Appear, How To Restore It
Apr 3, 2012
i have updated my iphone 4, suddenly it appear in the itune and it say orrcured 21. after that my iphone4 black out, then appear only itunes.how can i restore bsck my iphone.
I had my phone jailbroken on 3.1.2 for a while (3G S). I was satisfied with it, although I decided to go clean on 3.1.3 and did a restore. Ever since this time I get constant freeze-ups in the SMS app. A few letters will type, and then it'll freeze up for at least 20+ seconds. I'll type on and it'll slowly add character by character and take minutes. If I add any more characters, it'll do the same; lag and then slowly catch up.
I end up using the power button and then force quitting the app, or just turning off the phone and turning it back on. Within an hour the problem will come back.
I'm on my third FRESH restore to 3.1.3. I have a few apps installed, most settings at default, and my mobileme account setup. That's it. No jailbreak. It occurs every time, after every fresh restore.
I connected my new i-phone 4 to my laptop, to save the photos that I've taken with it, and it prompted for an i-tunes update. When it was all over, it was frozen, and the only option I was offered was 'Restore', which came with a warning that I would lose all data if I chose to restore to factory settings...
I have an iPhone 4s and an iPad 2. Updated both to 5.1.1. Now iTunes on the phone freezes. Tried restart, killed all other apps but no effect. iPad 2 is working normally.
My phone worked fine this morning. Then all of the sudden when I placed or recieved calls I could not hear anything, the reciever could hear me. I could text, play games, get on the net, etc. Then I noticed I had a software update. So, I connected to itunes and performed a sync. At the end the phone powered off and on. Then itunes stated the sync couldn't be completed. So, I unplugged the phone from the computer, rebooted it, and connected it back to itunes. Now, itunes does not recognize my phone and the phone screen has a USB port and itunes logo on it. What do I do?
if I restore factory setting to my iPhone, is it still possible to restore the backup from itune/ icloud to get the purchased apps and other informations?
i restored my iphone4 to factory settings because it was running slow and some apps werent working. My phone is now stuck in repair mode and is continually rebooting itself. I know the usual solution would be to restore via itunes but itunes will not allow me to do anything as i get the error "itunes cannot find disk"
iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes. I've been getting this message while I tried to restore my phone. How can I be done with that?
My iphone dropped out of my pocket onto a carpeted wood deck floor while sitting in a lawn chair (approximately 15-18 inches). When I went to use it next, it wouldn't turn on. I tried a reset (home button and power button) and got a message to plug it into itunes for a restore.I've tried restoring it probably 25 times. I've made sure all software is up to date on my computer. I've restarted my computer about 10 times. When I try to restore it goes through all the motions and looks like it's going to work but ultimately I get an error message(I've had several different errors: 21, 2006 2001) from itunes that says it could not restore it. The only thing that shows up on my iphone screen is a graphic of a USB cord connecting to itunes.
I´m trying to restore my iPhone 4S 5.1, using iTunes, but I´m not sure if this method will upgrade to 5.1,1 I do not want to upgrade from 5.1 to 5.1.1, anyone knows if can i restore it with out upgrade?
i have used iTunes to restore my iPhone to factory settings as a new iPhone, no backup involved. So, i have plugged in my iPhone to the laptop, i have used the RESTORE button in iTunes and the process started smooth. At the end, the iTunes told me that my iPhone will restart, and it did. After the restart, of course, the configuration of my iPhone was needed. iTunes told me not to unplug my iPhone and to wait until the restart its over. And i did. When iTunes was reconnecting my device, it told me that my SIM has a PIN CODE and i need to enter it so i can proceed with configuration. So i did this step also, i have used my PIN on the device, on my iPHONE the configuration STARTED but iTunes told me that it cannot reconnect with my iPhone and that i should retry later. So i didnt used iTunes to configure, instead i did the configuration directly from the phone.
1. Why didnt iTunes reconnect with my iPhone after i entered PIN?
2. Does it matter if it didnt reconnect, so this way i was forced to do the configuration directly from my iPhone and not in iTunes like it supposed to be done after a restore made in iTunes?
3. What does EXACTLY restore from iTunes do !? And what does this mean, from the HELP iTunes files (red lines). What does it mean by "doesn't erase it?" Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPadUsing iTunes, you can update software on your iPod, or update iOS software on iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad.If you are having problems with your device, you can also use iTunes to reinstall the software and restore your device's default settings.Important: Restoring iOS software on iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad deletes your information, but doesn't erase it. Deleted information can't be accessed through the device's controls, but it remains on your device. To find out more about erasing all content and settings (if, for example, you plan to give your iPhone away), see this article at the Apple Support website.
ShowTo update your software:HideTo restore the software on your iPod , iPhone, or iPad:Connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer. When your device appears in the iTunes window (below Devices), select it.Click the Summary button, click Restore, and follow the onscreen instructions. If you're restoring software on your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad, iTunes backs up your device at the start of the process. You can restore your settings from the backup at the end of the restore.
4. Why now, when my iPhone is factory settings with nothing on it, after pluggin to iTunes, my used memory went from 26x MB to 392 MB used?
So used the find my my iPhone app on my ipad to erase the data on my iPhone 4s. so my phone showed the apple logo then a loading bar. When it was complete it showed a loading circle, kinda like the buffering thing on YouTube. And now it's stuck in a loop. I can restart my phone and the data is not erased but after 30 secs it does the loading thing again and stays in a loop. But then I put it in Dfu mode and tried to restore it but iTunes says I don't have permission to download the 7.1.2 firmware.
i have some conection call problems and the network company tels me to make softwere to my phone so i have i backup and i make restore for all in my iphone after

itunes keeps asking me to restore my iPhone and I don't want to lose any of my applications or data, is there anything that can be done. I Try Using I Tools. But I Can't Import Or Export
I've got a JB iP4 and have been using wi-fi sync largely without issue. Today I did a sync via wi-fi sync and then added a few new podcasts. I exited out of iTunes10 and when I went back in, I got the following error message:
<<iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone "Jack's iPhone". Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings.>>
Any idea what's going on? This now happens every time the phone is connected, whether by USB or wifi Sync. The only tab that appears is the Summary tab and the only option it gives me is to restore. It still lists my software version, serial number, IMEI, phone #, etc. but the capacity is now listed as "n/a" and the Name is now listed as "iPhone"
Obviously I'd prefer to avoid having to restore & rejailbreak so I welcome any other suggestions if you've got'em.
Plugged my iPhone into the iMac today, and it wont bring up or connect to iTunes. This hasnt happened before. On my PC, same thing happened. Anyone have any ideas?
Update: Friday, Jan 22: I went into Time Machine and restored my machine a few days back, and presto....the computer now sees my iPhone and everything works fine. I still dont know what happened to cause the problem, and that bothers me.
Last week I purchased three ringtones from iTunes directly from my iPhone and when I synced up my iPhone to my Mac just now, it removed those ringtones off my phone but now I can't figure out how to get them back on! I can see those ringtones in iTunes on my Mac but when I tell it to sync those ringtones back to my phone they never show up. What am I doing wrong?
There is this 2G iPhone that is (almost?) bricked.
As far as I know, the phone did work until recently, was not dropped, but suddenly got stuck at this screen:
The owner is not computer savvy, and is unsure whether the firmware has been updated (by chance or not).
Right now the phone is stuck at the "Restore needed" screen. What have I done so far: Put it in DFU, iTunes finds is, and tells me it needs to be restored; I have downloaded the 1.1.4, 2.2, and 3.1.2 firmwares for the 2G; I have tried to SHIFT+RESTORE many times, and every single time it ends up giving me error 23.
I tried all of the above-mentioned firmwares, have tried with iTunes 9.0.3, 8.2 and 7.5 MANY times - with the same result: Error 23.
There is something interesting: when I tap the "i" on the screen, it shows a windows that says: IMEI: Unknown, and ICCID: Unknown
I have searched online for a whole day now, and people say that this is related to a hardware problem with the modem; others said that it could be fixed by flashing w/ older firmware and older iTunes version - both of which I have tried.
So bottom line is that after all I have tried I am still nowhere. And ideas what else I could try?
How do I reset and restore from ITunes.I have a IPhone 4s,and I can't reset from the phone because evidentally my 4 yr. old son set a password for restrictions.
The lock code on my iphone was entered incorrectly several times and the iphone wiped itself. ( I dont know what genius thought this feature up?).That was bad enough as I was overseas at the time and use the iphone for business. I've just tried to restore using itunes from a backup I took before heading overseas and this completed but failed to restore anything useful. Contacts are gone as are photos , notes etc . Now the old backup appears to be overwrittenm as well. Pretty close to throwing the iphone in the bin and getting a different phone. Anyone know how to restore from a backup taken on a particular date?
today i upgrade my iphone4 to 5.01 ,when use itunes to restore 4.3.2 backup .the itunes compain
'May 19 10:33:32 BigBears-iPhone BackupAgent2[202] <Warning>: ERROR: Restore error - File path in set of paths not to back up: AppDomain-com.moji.MojiWeather:Library/SyncedPreferences (MBErrorDomain/205)

I attempted to upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1.1.I selected 'back up' from the phone in the device menu and iTunes confirmed that the phone had been backed up. I then installed iOS 5.1.1 which wiped everything on the phone & now I am getting the error iTunes could not restore the iPhone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone that is being restored"I have tried restoring factory settings but iTunes simply will not restore from back up & I'm not sure what else to do
