IPhone :: 4 Suddenly Stopped Turning On And Will Not Charge?
May 9, 2012
My iphone 4 suddenly stopped turning on and will not charge. I tried rebooting it by holding the home & sleep buttons for nearly a minute many times. I also tried DFU mode to restore it, but I keep getting an error message in itunes when trying this. It will not restore. My itunes and Mac OS software are up to date.
my i-phone 3GS suddenly stopped working no display few minutes back i had spoked to one of my friend from the same phone and after 10-15 mins its completely stopped my charge was 47% before it stopped
My iphone 4s stopped charging suddenly and if i connect it to the computer it doesn't show up same with the wall charger it doesn't show that it's charging
My MacBook pro has suddenly stopped recognising my iphone 3GS. It said first of all that it couldn't find the required disk, then, it just stopped showing any device at all. I cannot sync it with wifi, and have not set up icloud.
My iphone4s suddenly stopped charging from the evening. I tried different chargers but no change. I also tried connecting it to laptop through USB but the device does not show. I want to go to apple store but want the backup.
My iMessages stopped working. I tried to turn off iMessages and back on, then tried to activate with my email address and when I try to sign in with apple id it goes to the screen where it shows the email address, and when I hit next it displays "verifying" and then goes back to the sign in page. I am currently not in range for cellular signal but I am on wifi. Shouldn't I be able to sign in with just my email address, as now it does not display my phone # because I do not have a cellular signal?
My viber suddenly stopped working on iphone 4s. When someone calls me on viber, they can hear me but I cannot hear them. This was working a couple of days ago. I haven't changed any settings
I've got an iPhone 3G which has suddenly stopped activating after a restore. iTunes now refuses to go through the activation process, stating: "There is a problem with your iPhone We're sorry, the iPhone you connected may be damaged and cannot be activate
my iPhone suddenly stopped receiving calls. It does not ring, vibrate, nothing. The caller gets sent to voice mail. Is there a fix?? Is Apple actively engaged on a fix?
Suddenly, my iphone 4S has stopped connecting to wi-fi.Â
Here's the problem:when I go to Settings, under "Wi-Fi", I see "Not Connected"when I tap "Wi-Fi", I don't see any networks listed at allÂ
Here's what I've tried to resolve the problemchecked to see that the wireless networks (both work and home) are actually working, by connecting to them using my laptopturned off wi-fi and then turned it back onswitched to airplane mode and then back offrest phone by pressing and holding both buttonsreset network settings by going to Settings--General--Reset--Reset Network Settings.Nothing has worked.
Yesterday, my iMessages suddenly stopped working (this is how I contact many friends and family). It is partially working - it sends messages from my "appleid" which is my college e-mail address that I no longer have access to, and many people I communicate with do not have. How can I get it to send/recieve iMessages using my phone number again? Â
When I go into Messages, and iMessage, and type in my id, it says "waiting for activation". In the meantime, I can still send/recieve messages using my email, but not my phone number. I have tried rebooting my phone, resetting network settings, resetting all settings, and nothing seems to work. I am constantly connected through wifi, and I cannot figure out the issue.Â
My I phone suddenly turned off although it is charged, and it never want to work again.I change it but it also dosent want to work.I don't want what to do to make it work it again.
Yesterday, I updated the iPhone configuration utility to v 3.5 and I was using the internet via iPhone USB tethering, as soon as the update finished, my iPhone USB tethering stopped working and its not working any more. I am on OS X Lion 10.7.3 using iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1. Now I figured out that running the OS in 32 bit lets me do USB tethering, but in 64 bit the iPhone USB Network Service shows on the right:
"Either the cable for iPhone USB is not plugged in or the device is not responding."
I've tried everything with keeping iTunes running, reinstalling iTunes, re-installing iPhone configuration Utility, but nothing seems to work! I guess the main culprit here is the new iPhone Configuration Utility v 3.5. It is so annoying to see such things breaking existing functionality. It has nothing to do with my Phone, because it works on my other Macbook Pro which I did not update and on my friends Snow Leopard.
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), iPhone 4S v 5.1
iPhone 4S - my purchased apps suddenly stopped working. Tried restarting, reinstalling, downloading free app, removing all purchased apps and reinstalling, but the apps just do not open. Running OS5.1 and iTunes 10.6
So I've had my iPhone for probably about 4 months, and up until about 2 or 3 weeks ago, WiFi was working fine on it. Then, one day, I left home and came back a few hours later, and I couldn't connect to the home network. I can still see the network, and it comes up with the signal strength and everything seems normal, but then I go to connect and a message pops up saying "Unable to join network [Home]".
There're 9 other devices on our router, which are an iPhone 4, an iPhone 3GS, an iPod touch, an Apple TV, a windows laptop, an iMac, a MacBook, an ipad, and a PS3.
I Haven't dropped or damaged the phone in the month that ive had it! All of a sudden I needed my flash and it won't go off when I take a picture. Also the flashlight won't turn on either. I've tried the soft & hard reset & updating my phone but it still refuses to work...
my iphone4 suddenly stopped working and switched off while taking a photograph and when kept charging apple logo appears and goes in 5 secs of connecting.. previously my phone is water damaged but worked after servicing for about 4 months...i tried restore but it is also not taking.... i changed the battery and plugged into computer then it switched on and showed my home screen for a while and again the same problem persists....
wi-fi used to work well but suddenly it stopped although I'm having a full signal, it says it's connected but when open Safari it says no internet connection, I restarted my phone and re- named my network but still no internet
I bought this iphone 5 six months ago and have a pay as you go plan with Kolbi I.C.E (a local provider.) Everything worked fine, until last week I was talking on my phone all morning, and then I shut it off to charge it and when I turned it back on I couldn't connect to the cellular network. Â
Since then, I have tried LITERALLY everything I can find on the internet to make it work again: toggling airplane mode, restart, refresh network settings, restore to factory, taking out the sim card and putting it back in again, EVERYTHING. And not for one single second have I been able to access the cellular network again. Â
I tried putting my simcard in my friend's identical iphone 5 and it worked just fine, leading me to believe the problem is with my iphone in particular-- but why would it just STOP connecting all of a sudden, for no reason???Â
3. Doing the home button reset thing does not work
4. Obviously I can't do the sleep + home button reset.
5. It's been sitting in rice even though I didn't get it wet, maybe someone did.
6. Has been dropped, but that was about 6 months ago, back is shattered but I have a case.
7. Charging doesn't work.
8. Thought it might have done the "black screen" thing where it has to die until I can charge it, but flicking the ringer button doesn't make the phone vibrate like it's set to.
Up to a few days ago Siri worked just fine. Now, it doesn't.Â
For some reason when I say "Call my wife" Siri can figure out who my wife is but cannot find the contact information and says there is no phone number listed for her. But when I look at my contacts myself I see the phone number right there. And, when I say "Who is my wife?" Siri then says that there are no contact details for my wife. Siri says my wife's name but no contact details! There ARE contact details though it is just that Siri cannot find them for some reason.Â
Why is this? I never changed anything on the phone in the last few days. It just suddenly stopped working.
This suddenly happened after I turned it off (By just turning it off to standby). I've tried connecting it to 2 different chargers, but my phone still isn't showing the red light at the top, like it should when it's charging. I've also tried holding the power button and volume down, power button and volume up button to see if that would work, but it didn't. Will my phone every turn on again? What else can I do to possibly make my phone turn on/charge? The phone is not running a custom ROM. It's running HTC Sense 6 and Android 4.4.3 at the moment.
