i was unable to send/receive texts for a little, and my phone said I had almost full 3G. so I restarted my phone and that "sad iPhone" wallpaper came up along with a notification saying how I was in safe mode, etc. so I restarted a few more times and now it's back to normal. should I restore or does this just happen sometimes?

I've been given very strict instructions to 'protect' my hearing (ear defenders whenever using a powertool, turning down the volume on any personal music player, no standing infront of the speakers for 2 hour at a rave!)
Wihtout wanting to get into a debate about EU regulation or what safe volumes are, how I can cap the volume on my iPhone (iPhone 4, latest OS) to a relatively agreed safe limit? I remember that my older iPod Classic had a handy line that you could set the limit to (related, I think, to the FR/EU regulation).
I have found the slider in Settings>Music on the iPhone, how much I need to dial this down for it to be 'safe'. I intend using my noise cancelling headhone more (so I can hear more of the lower volume music)

guys at work is having trouble with his battery life. he is having to charge his phone at least twice a day. How can I extend his battery life?

A family plan has 4 lines. All lines are eligible for devices upgrade. One phone has been upgrade to IPhone 4, which extended the family plan another 2yrs. Now if upgrading the remaining 3 phones to discount phones listed on AT&T as well, will the family plan be extended 6 more years? (2 yrs x 3). I have heard, many time, that some people get iPhones 4s for all lines of their family plan. Wouldn't that make their contracts to up to 10 years? (if they open 5 lines, all upgrade to iPhone 4s) If it is true, isn't that crazy? (esp. with AT&T). The reason I bring up this question is a AT&T online chat agent told me that it is true that those 2yrs extended contract for each individual line will sum up to 2-10 years. I found it unbelievable. I want to upgrade all my lines.
View 6 Replies View RelatedBefore I got my iPhone I used my mobile phones (dumb, android, Symbian) to set an alarm with the calendar. I'm having a hard time properly doing so on my iPhone. My brain is lined with teflon and I forget a lot of stuff - up until now my mobile phones have been vital in remedying this.Â
Say that I have an important appointment at 14:00 two weeks from now, I punch it in the calendar on my iPhone and let it alert me an hour before the event. When the time comes my iPhone lets out a measly "beep" that no one hears and I miss the appointment - I can go entire work days without looking at my phone (and phone usage is strongly discouraged at my workplace) so this is really a big problem for me. So far I've missed a couple of important meetings, left important stuff undone and forgot to pick my kid up from kindergarten (my wife usually does, but there are those rare, calendar reminder occasions when I have to)!Â
On all the other phones I've owned I'd be able to set the calendar alarm so that it would go on and on and on until I reacted, thus minimizing the odds of me missing the alarm. How to make my iPhone do this.Â
Sure there are workarounds like making the calendar alarm go off a day before to remind me to create an actual alarm clock alarm for the day after but that really seems to be an uneccesary hazzle and a major design flaw - also, what if I'm really busy when the early reminder goes off and I forget to set the alarm? Or perhaps I should attempt to tame myself to constantly check my iPhone for possible alerts?

I get in there and the slider is up all the way and there is no switch but a button "Lock Volume Limit". I have no locks on this phone. My phone settings in Music for the Volume Limit says it's off. I am planning to buy my friend's recently purchased iPhone 4S. Since he was using it with his own AppleID for a month only, this 90 day limitation makes me wonder f I but it right now whether I could use it freely with my AppleID to be created new. I guess resetting it to factory settings and setting up as a new phone with a brand new AppleID should not cause any harm but I wanted to get expert opinion. I don't want to buy a phone and wait two more months to use it.
if this 90-day limitation goes away when I reset the device fully and set it up with new AppleID. I would expect no problem as none of the purchased apps/songs could be transferred from old account but still I am not sure and I need help.

I love my new LG G4, but I swear it's only ringing like 10 seconds before it goes to voice mail. I can't find an option to make it ring longer.
