When I get a voicemail on AT&T I get a notification from within the phone app and the AT&T visual voicemail app. How do I disable the notification for the phone app? I can't seem to find the setting.

I hate having to call into my number and listen to each voicemail individually. I heard there was talks about possibly including this feature into Android M but I can't seem to find it. Is there any applications that you can recommend that does this feature?
View 6 Replies View Relatedmy screen started to do really strange things (beyond max brightness line on the right, then black lines on the right) before finally giving up the ghost and dying completely. Is there a way of pulling the data off the phone if you don't have any visual feedback? I've powered it off and on, so my first problem is the encrypted volume login, followed by the normal login, followed by getting to the USB setting pulldown to activate MTP. is there a good way of wiping the volume short of just unlocking the bootloader and formatting the data partition? does the bootloader need to be unlocked to do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed something since I got my phone and that is that certain notifications (Snapchat and Messenger are the main 2 for at the moment) will not make a sound unless my phone is either: Unlocked or locked with the screen turned on. Sometimes I won't get even get the notification until I actually unlock my phone which then all the notifications (sometimes 10+ messages in a facebook group) will pop up and vibrate my phone multiple times.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI don't know if I am missing a setting but many times I will have no email notification and there are new unread emails in the gmail app. I have exchange and gmail addresses setup and I think it happens with all of them or it is just the exchange emails.I went into all the gmail email settings and selected notification for every email and not just once, the exchange emails do not have this option. I also have vibrate selected but I feel no vibration when they come in. I put the gmail app on priority notification but that didn't work

View 10 Replies View RelatedI noticed that the Spotify notifications disappear every once and awhile while music is playing. I'm wondering if this is something that was introduced into 6.0 or what. I can open spotify check back an hour later and it's still playing but I have to switch back to the app and the notification comes back.
This is pretty frustrating when trying to stop the music from running. It can also happen after 20 minutes it seems..Another issue is that I receive a phone call but the music starts playing in earpiece or bluetooth while the phone is occurring. Combine this with issue 1 and you have a difficult situation here...
I have a couple of questions about this.
1) With Ambient display enabled, the screen pops on when a notification comes through, or when I pick up the device. If Ambient display is disabled, the screen doesn't wake for either circumstance.
- The way I would like to have it, is where the screen only comes on when a notification comes through, and not when I move the phone. For me, it's a bit annoying most times. Is there a setting or another way to achieve this?
2) When Ambient display is enabled and I get the sound or vibration for a notification, it takes a few seconds (3-5) for the screen to come on.
- Is this normal? I'd prefer it to come on right after the notification sound/vibration.
I'm currently on build MDA89D, and have fingerprint/pin set for lock screen security.
So lately I have not been getting hangout notifications and it's driving me nuts. I have it paired to my android wear watch and 80% of the time it works fine but other times I get text messages and nothing, no buzz, not even a notification in my task manager letting me know I have a unread message, totally blank. It's not until I go into hangouts and I see the bold text that I know I got a message. Even when not paired to the watch,same thing, no buzz, sound, notification icon, nothing until I open hangouts and see it.
Fully stock and on 6.0.1 as of a few days ago and still the problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using WhatsApp a lot more than usual lately and there's something that's bothering me. While the screen is off, there's a notification for each message received. So, in case I have someone messaging me 20 times in a row, I will hear the notification tone 20 times. I know some apps limit the number of notifications by time and I'd like to do this with WhatsApp.
Is there some way to do this? To make it clear, I'd like to be able to set an option like "Only ring once for whatever number of messages every 30 seconds".
Is there any means of removing the lockscreen notifications (lux, 1weather, google now)? I'm assuming there has to be some form of xposed module that can do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedNew s6 edge+ and having trouble setting it up the way I want. When I get an e-mail (Yahoo! or Gmail) I want to see it up top on the notification line. I don't want to hear any sounds. When I get a text or other alert I DO want to both see a notification AND hear my chirp. No matter how I set it up in settings it seems as though I always get the visual notification (that's good) , but I either get sounds for everything or no sounds for everything. I can't split the sounds for just texts and alerts and no sound for email.

Currently, I have to click 'mark prior unopened' in order to erase the yellow mail icon with the red star -- so that the icon doesn't show up in the status bar.
I'd prefer to not see this notification at all. Same with facebook notifications. Haven't found the settings for these.

For some reason I have lost my Text Messaging Icon. If I look in my Contacts - I am able to select a Contact and then hit Menu and am given the option of "Send a Text Message" - which works.When I receive a text message - the appropriate notification goes off (audible or vibrate), but, there is no indication in the status bar that there is a new text message. If I go into "Contacts" and look at the individual that sent the text message, I can see the conversation in their history. Obviously, with a ton of Contacts, even if I do happen to get the notification, it can be quite the task to figure out where its coming from. I assume that any texts that do not have an associated Contact are just simply gone.
I am not receiving notifications that there are voice mails. This seemed to have started when I switched to visual voice mail (VVM). I will get notification after (a week sometimes) all at once for multiple messages.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy device runs on AOSIP Hammerhead 2.2 ROM with Solo Gapps. Everything was fine until 2 a couple of days back my device started rebooting at regular intervals. Sometimes when I unlock the screen it reboots, or which working with some application it reboots. After suggestions from some friends I did a dirty and clean flash as well and did a fresh flashing of the ROM + Gapps. But it still ain't resolving my problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded from bold 9000 to 9700. I upgraded my OS to version .743. After that, I stopped getting visual voice mail notifications. The message is there when I dial "1", but doesn't show up at all under the VVM menu, nor do I get the visual indication(s). It did work on the AT&T OS out of the box. Second issue with this O.S.- phone does not lock when it is in the holster. I have to believe both these issues are with the .743 version of the OS, but I may be missing something. I've read others with the VVM problem, not none of the threads seem to offer a solution except to say that AT&T WAS having issues with this back in November.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDuring calls my Nexus 5 has no audio in regular call mode generally, I can hear great, but people can't hear me at all. However, a headset works, and speaker phone works. More surprisingly, if you start in either of those modes, then go to regular call modes, the microphone works fine for about 30 seconds!
It has the regular vanilla Android 5.1.1 OS, I do not have root. But I would consider rooting if there was a fix.
Looks like one of the new features of Marshmallow is native visual voicemail. I think it's only active on T-Mobile so far and it seems to be working for me. All voicemail is downloaded to the dialer app and its synced with the carrier voicemail system. It's okay but not as good as Google voice as it does not convert the message to text. Otherwise pretty useful if anybody ever calls me and leaves a message.

Draft a txt and then send to multiple recipients without each recipient being able to see the other? Basically the same thing as sending an email to multiple people via BCC option.
Would be handy for business purposes. I don't care if they see my contact. I just don't want them to see eachothers contact since not everyone I'd send to would know the other (and/or want their contact information shared).
Obviously I could copy and paste the same message to multiple people via individual txt msgs... but being able to send a group txt would be way more efficient.
I got my Nexus 6P in australia yesterday and I was playing around with the settings. One of the things I wanted to enable was Now on Tap but everytime I try and enable it (either through holding the home button, or doing it through Settings), it won't enable! When I click Get Started, nothing happens. If i'm in the settings app, the toggle just turns off after I press Get Started.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am rooted on stock 6.0.1 with ElementalX kernel. I have Xposed installed, but I've tried disabling all modules. I've tried deleting the stock clock data and cache. There are no alarms set or off. I've checked the alarms.db file and there are no entries.
How do I get rid of the icon and lock screen info? I only have the Google Clock installed.
The only Google result says to do a battery pull on a different device. Can't really pull the battery on this phone, though.
