In Settings>Security I have it set to password (did at at&t store) now I want to remove it 2 weeks later, its annoying and I work from home.
I go to change it and the options below are greyed out:
Lock Screen
No Lock Screen
Face Unlock (wouldn't use)
Available Options:
Pattern
Pin
Password
Have done all I know to do.
I have a non rooted M8 via AT&T ...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently got an LG Xenon GR500 through ROGERS however I cannot install my own apps or games, ringtones etc as Rogers has locked all these features in the hopes that people will then buy from them. I was wondering if unlocking the phone will remove Rogers' Security policy from my phone so I can then do all this stuff. Is there anybody that has tried something like this before, perhaps even on a different phone?

We were visiting relatives at the time and did not keep a check on it. When we got home we found it had used up most of our data which created a data usage warning. We want to delete the download without installing, but there is no place to do this.

2 days ago my friend brought his 9700 for me to upgrade OS. I used security wipe, then tried using BBSAK to wipe the OS and it asked for password. Then I used AppLoder to install the new OS and it asked for password again.
Why didn't security wipe delete the device password this time?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems with my blackberry since December. 1st it starts freezing as in endlessy even when I do a battery pull it takes forever to goon the home screen and when it deos its stuck at 68% on the verifying secuiry software. It freeezes every minute I had to delete most of my apps and most of my bb contacts beacuse I thought itwas space because I do not have a memory card. I even tried goind the press alt lglg to delete the contents but it still freezes!

About a month ago I enabled the password protection option on my phone and now it will freeze about 3-4 times a week when I try to unlock the phone.I haven't pinpointed it exactly, but it seems to happen more frequently when I lock the keyboard by pressing and holding the * key along with the elapsed time for a Security Timeout happening. My screen displays a dialogue box that says "Keypad is locked. Press the Mute button to unlock." I press the Mute button, and a black dialogue box appears behind the 'Keypad is locked." one, and everything freezes. No buttons do anything.The only thing I can do is take the battery out, replace it, and wait 5 minutes for the phone to reboot.The only thing I could think of was to disable the password protection, but now there is a little lock next to the selected 'enable' password option. I am a private user and do not use a company BES. Could it be that synching with Gmail has the same effect as a security policy through a BES? And what could be causing my phone to freeze up so frequently?

I bought a used Lumia 1520 from Amazon a few days ago...been using WP8.1, no problems, so I went ahead and installed the latest Windows 10 Mobile preview last night.
Everything worked fine for about 6 hours, and then the phone started going into endless rebooting loops. About 3 hours ago, it finally booted up, and there was a message on the screen that said "This phone has been locked for security reasons. Please connect to a power source for 2 hours and try restarting".
So I've had it plugged in for the last 3 hours, and now it refuses to boot up at all. When I do the soft reset button combo, the phone vibrates like it's restarting, but then...nothing.
So, I guess I've got two questions:
1. Did Windows 10 Mobile brick my phone, or is it more likely that there was something wrong with the phone from the get go?
2. What additional things I might try for recovery? I have downloaded the Windows Phone Recovery Tool, but without the device powering on, it's basically bupkis.
I have my own mailserver (hMailServer). I can connect over the internet from my laptop and I can connect from Desire, but after connection the phone displays "No Emails". The settings is IMAP with no extra security.I know that all settings are correct because I have traced the IMAP conversation with WireShark on my server. I'm not an IMAP expert, but it looks ok and I can see email headers being transferred. But still the phone doesn't show any emails.

Download Nokia PC Suite first (the updated one) from site below ... Or if you already have it on your computer go to control panel click on add and remove then Nokia PC Suite it will ask you to install or repair click on repair and that will give you the updated version ...the only way you can remove phone lock is to update your Nokia E71s software ..But make sure you BACKUP your phone before hand or you will delete everything ..open Nokia PC Suite then click on update software takes about 15min but well worth it,you can also download the games the phone originally came with ... Solitaire etc from this site

went for a long bike ride on Sunday in wet conditions with my Blackberry in my cycling jersey.May have got wet.Keyboard will not now work.Switches on, receives text and some email messages but no phone calls and will not respond to any keys. Have taken battery out and re-inserted.No "joy".Tried the "reset" (Alt, Del, R Shift) again no "joy".Flying today, only way to tun-off phone was to remove the battery.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI know we can't remove the maps v3.08 from our phone(mine nokia c7) itself because it is not showing in apps manager.But i found out an alternate way.I have not yet tried it ,but u can see if it works and tell us about it.For this use the "Nokia PC Suite v 7.1.62.1" and not nokia ovi suite on ur pc.If u go to application manager in the pc suite it shows all the apps installed including the nokia maps 3.08 and its other files also.
