Jan 12, 2013I've noticed this because I'm currently using Velis auto brightness which sets the brightness of the screen. The problem seems to be that 'dim' function before the screen sleeps is actually brightening the screen. I'm guessing system is not checking the current brightness of the screen. It would be great if this could be rectified.

Jun 22, 2014My iPhone 4 turned off or something when I wasn't paying attention, and so I tried to turn it on but it didn't. I've seen all these other posted questions stating to hold down both buttons or syncing it to your computer, but neither of these work for me. By this I mean that when I hold down the buttons nothing happens and when I tried to sync it to my computer my iTunes didn't even acknowledge that anything was connected. When I plugged it into my computer a red light came on above my front camera and speaker, I have never seen this ever happen nor heard of it either. It stayed on for about a minute or two and then it shut off, but then it came back on. I then tried to hold down both buttons and I watched the light, my phone didn't restart or anything but the light dimmed a couple times and it was all really weird. I know it had at least 30%, if not more, battery.

Galaxy S6 Edge :: Why Is Phone Lock Screen Dimmed / Tinted / Washed Out
Sep 22, 2015- I've already tried the suggested fixes that I could find on the forums of changing the unlocking animation and whatnot but the problem persists no matter what when reverting back to a password/pattern lock/fingerprint lockscreen.
- This is not a brightness issue.
When using any lockscreen other than swipe to unlock, my lockscreen seems to have a grey filter overlayed on top of it. It's super noticeable when using a black wallpaper. The AMOLED display should not be visible in the dark (as if it's off) but the screen is noticeably lit as if it were an LCD display. When using images as my lockscreen wallpaper they are not as vivid as when viewing the image in the gallery or even as my wallpaper on the homescreen.
The problem has gone on and off when dealing with the night clock with updates. sometimes the 'black' screen will be lit up and defeat the purpose of the nightclock and kill the battery, and sometimes the screen is pitch black and just the time is displayed dimly as it should be. Wondering if i should take it into the sprint store to see if a replacement would remedy this.

Nov 26, 2013Contrary to the posts I've seen (buttons do not turn ON), my issue is the inverse (buttons do not turn OFF). My HTC One's Home and Back buttons are always lit, even if I turn off the device.
Is this a hardware or a software problem? Could there be something I can install to fix it, i.e. like a missing driver?
This is a brand new phone, and out the box, the capacitive buttons are off. When I turned it on, the lights were behaving fine and after using it for quite a few hours, I decided to reset the phone again since I wanted to set it up from scratch.

Jul 31, 2011had the X10 since May last year, My soft keys, ie Home, Back and Menu buttons stop working randomly. I have searched this forum and haven't been able to find any answers. I do not have a case on my phone which could affect the use of the buttons.The strange thing is that I have had the phone sent for repair under my insurance policy. It comes back working fine. The problem only seems to reoccur when i go out.Phone works fine in the house but as soon as I travel half a mile away the buttons stop working. If I switch the phone off then on again they start to work but if I'm still moving (eg in the car) they stop again. Once I become stationary either at home or work, they work fine until I move again.

Oct 10, 2014I've just noticed that the Lumia 1520 (brand new, bought last week) sometimes has the haptic feedback/vibrations turn off by itself when pressing the navigation buttons on the phone. However, they are set to on, in the 'touch' settings (running Lumia cyan now).
When I do a soft reset, the buttons start working for a with vibration, then stop (just to note, they work, just the haptic goes wonky). I tried giving the phone a call - the vibration still works, just doesn't seem to work.
