Okay, I have looked everywhere for this. The HTC Music app has a dropdown for 'Podcasts' but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get any on there and showing in this section. I CAN get podasts using DoubleTwist or other software, but not the HTC Music app itself. But why would they have a Podcast drop-down section if you cannot add them?
Within the music player on a 5800XM, how can I control the ordering of podcasts when using the Podcasts->By Title search option with the music player...? What this currently does is orders these is the newest first order, where as if you a listening to a radio drama (like me, who listens to the Archers approx twice a week) you want these to be in the oldest first order!
I have just installed the Media Go s/w for my new Experia phone (as I want to use it to play podcasts to replace my aging Zune) Trouble is when I ran the set up of Media Go, it found all my music and podcasts but sees them ALL as music (and has put nothing into the Podcasts menu (LHS panel) and found a way to make them go to the right place?
Also, when I almost gave up and tried to just set them all up again by subscribing to them insode Media Go, the choice is REALLY limited, so is no use either.
There isn't a specific forum for this in the iOS Apps category so I am putting it here.I just downloaded the new Apple Podcasts app to my iPhone 4S.[URL]I have figured out how to find and subscribe to the podcasts I normally listen to but I am not sure how to get the podcasts to download over wifi so I can listen to them later.Don't want to burn up my data plan streaming podcasts when I'm on the road. The description says that you can do this, "Stream episodes or download to listen while offline" but I am not sure if it is happening. There is no visual clue to let me know that the casts are downloading or not.Do I just need to be patient? Or am I doing something wrong.
I got a new, shiny Nokia 5730 XM two days ago and there have been no other problems with it other than the Music Player. Everytime i go on the music player, it automatically searches for Music and Podcasts. It searches for so long (10 mins) that I go and hit the red 'end call' button to end the app with it still in the background. And when I go back to the music player, it freezes.
Is there a way to move my Podcasts (and create a seperate playlist) to the Music App? I would like to listen to Podcasts through my GPS app, MotionX, which only plays the Music App.Â
Any work around for this? I am using IO 7, iPhone 5S, and iTunes 11.1.5.5Â
Noticed short pauses or gaps in sound when playing back any sort of sound file? I'm using Bluetooth headsets of various types like jaybirds, Jabra solemate or jawbone jambox.
I'm using PocketCasts and the media is on the phone for that. Also using doubletwist and it's media is on SD.
Took me a long time to notice it because some podcasts aren't the greatest quality. Thing is if I rewind and replay that section it usually plays fine meaning the phone did something wrong.
I used to download several podcasts directly to my iPhone 4S each morning through iTunes and play them using the iPhone music player later in the day. Last week I noticed the download icons in iTunes changed (software update maybe?). The podcasts still download in iTunes but they no longer appear in the music player app (the old episodes are still there in the podcast menu). I can still play the new podcasts in iTunes but it does not automatically go to the next file when one ends like the music player does. This is annoying when listening to multiple shorter files. Also, I am concerned iTunes will not play the episodes if it can't connect to the server. Tested this out in airplane mode and it would not even let me access the iTunes podcasts despite supposedly being "downloaded". My mobile reception is poor in the office and there are times accessing iTunes is very slow or impossible. There are also times when I listen to them while in the car on trips through areas with little or no mobile data service.
TL;DR: iTunes podcast downloads used to show up in iPhone music player. Now they don't.
Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1, All other apps most current version
It isn't 100% consistent, it's about 50% consistent, but, if I plug my Atrix HD into a computer with the USB cable (which I have to do quite often since the battery isn't long-lasting), playing audio stutters about every 15 to 30 seconds. Sometimes the pause/stutter can be for 2 or 3 seconds. However, mostly it's probably only 1/2 second. Regardless, it's disconcerting to listen to music or a podcast and have it pause every few seconds.
Is there any way to have my "plain" bluetooth headset that is NOT A2DP stereo to playback music etc? Basically I want to listed to podcasts & books so I don't care about music or stereo. My BB Bold used to do it. My iPhone 3Gs is jailbroken.
The other day I was listening to a partically downloaded podcast (poor service) on my 4S when suddenly the sound stopped (external speakers). I assumed it had come to the end of what had downloaded so far but now any music and podcasts I listen to are muffled (like they have too much bass) and they stop and start when I use the external speakers. The sound quality before was so good! Playback is fine when I use the headphone jack. I installed all updates and restored the phone, but to no avail.
The phone had been using an iMac iTunes. I've now gone to a PC. (Forced to a PC because FCPX won't support my new video camera.) On new itunes, I registered new computer, backed up iphone, synced iphone (I think) and downloaded purchased music to new computer. But ... I can't get podcasts. I can't transfer old itunes library because it's on a large external hard drive that is not FAT 31. I am willing to lose stuff on present iPhone (only one purchased app) and I can restore music, but how do I get the iphone and new computer together so I can download podcasts, new music, new apps, etc?
Haven't tried to do this for a while but was trying to compile a playlist on my iPhone (4s, ios5.1.1) with just podcasts on it to listen in the car on a long journey. The music app doesn't give you the option of podcasts in the categories, just music. Used to be able to do this in my 3G.
When I download a podcast directly with my iPhone (in iTunes), it will be marked as "loaded", but I can't find it nywhere on my iPhone! I can go to "Music" and there to podcasts, but it says "no podcasts". If I sync it with my Mac, it will show the 2 podcasts and also sync it to my Mac. But still - no podcasts shown on the iphone, at least not accessible. It sounds like a faulty iOS update?I also tried to download a podcast on my Mac and then syncd it: It will show on iTunes under my iPhone-menue on the Mac, but on the iPhone itself it still comes up as "no podcasts".
Info: MacBook Air (13-INCH, MID 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I have de-selected some podcasts from appearing on my iphone. Unfortunately they are still on my iphone! How do I actually remove podcasts from my iphone?Â
Ever since I got iTunes 10 I have been having problems with podcasts.
My iPhone 4 will not allow podcasts to be manually added. It will only allow podcasts to be synced by playlists. This is a pain because podcasts constantly get new episodes and I shouldn't have to create a specific playlist EVERYDAY. By the way the "manaully add songs and videos" button is CHECKED and has always been checked. The only time I'm able to manually add podcasts is when the iphone syncs the podcast playlist. And sometimes this doesn't work.
I listen to several podcasts and up until just this past week, I would be able to download new podcasts anytime. Now when I'm listening to the podcast in the Music app and I click on "Get More Episodes . . . ." and it opens up the iTunes App to the page to download more episodes of that podcast. But then the page never fully loads and none of the "Free" buttons will engage. So I can't view the whole list of podcasts and I can't even download the ones I can see.
All of a sudden after about 4 years my podcasts suddenly stopped syncing. I've never seen anything like it. I have 3GB free on the phone, more than enough for an episode of This Week in Tech, and yet it (along with a few others I've tried) refuse to sync. I can see them listed when I click on my phone under devices. It shows the title of the podcast in black then the title underneath it is greyed out and has a small sync circle next to it, similar to what you see whtn the podact is downloading, except it isn't spinning. I've tried redownloading the podcasts, rebooting the phone, rebooting the Mac, unchecking sync podcasts then selecting sync again, but nothing works. I've never seen this before. And yes everyting is up to date version wise...
I want the Podcasts that I've subscribed to in iTunes to appear automatically on any device (iPhone, iPad) that I have signed in under the same Apple ID. I subscribe to about 28 podcasts and it is a real pain to have to manually add each of those to both my iPhone and my iPad — not to mention keeping all that in sync as I add or delete subscriptions over time.
Do you think Apple is working on a fix for this? I've got the latest everything, iOS 5.1.1, iPhone 4S, iPad3, iTunes 10.6.3, iCloud. No luck
I subsribe to a podcast and since the 15th it has stopped updating episodes. I can access the subsequent shows from other applications or the show's webpage, but motocast's MyMusic app doesnt show any new ones.
I have an iPhone 5c that I have always synced with iTunes on a laptop that belonged to my workplace. But I have left that job now, and with it, I have left the laptop. I now want to sync that same iPhone 5c on my iMac at home. This iMac has an iTunes that has NO podcasts on it ...Â
But when I prepare to sync the phone in iTunes and I click the podcasts tab and check the "Sync Podcasts" checkbox, it asks if I want to delete all the podcasts on the iPhone. I definitely *don't* want to do this ... I want those podcasts on the iPhone to be part of my backup on the computer. Many of these podcasts are older and no longer available for download from their original sources.Â
Is there any way that I can achieve this? It's not like I paid for any of these podcasts -- it's all free content, so I'm not breaking any copyright issues here.
