Best way to transfer files with osx using usb? My mac doesn't see it as usb storage device, and htc sync manager doesn't work. Using airdroid currently, but not as fast as i'd like.
I'm trying to transfer files between my G4 and my Macbook but every solution I've found by researching has not worked. I have installed the most current driver for the G4 and tried running Android File Transfer, where it will not recognize my device. I've tried changing the type of USB connection back and forth, but I had no luck with that. Is there any way of being able to manage my files on my G4 with my Mac through a USB connection? I know AirDroid is an option of transferring files without a USB cord, but I'd prefer to use a USB cord. I'm running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2.
I've connected my Z3 to my PS3 via USB and successfully transfered Mp3 files onto my storage card. I can also access the transferred files via the PS3 from my phone also. However, I cannot for the life of me access the Mp3 files directly on my phone.
I followed the instruction on this forum for using Forklift. When I transfer a file the progress bar gets about half way and then the transfer fails. I cannot attempt to do a transfer again until I turn the phone off and then back on (and redoing the ##77 code and enable ftp).I was transferring an image someone here used as a background, just to see if the process works.I am using a 17" Macbook Pro.
Did something happen with the way you transfer files on the new S6? I finally got the wife to switch from iPhone, and when she plugs in the phone to her computer, it just charges. It doesn't show in "My Computer" like every other android device I've ever used. Sometimes I'd have to drag down the notifications and select file transfer, or MTP, or something similar. This phone doesn't do any of that. It just charges, very frustrating.
I tried a different cable. Still, the phone just says its charging.
I even figured I'd go to settings, storage, but the menu option in there for "USB Computer Connection" is missing too. Its like the core functionality for usb file transfer is just gone.
What am I missing? Has it been this way for a while and I just never knew because I've been nexus for so long? I don't think thats it. Surely something is wrong and I'm just overlooking it.
For what its worth, it didn't work on my Mac either using the Android File Transfer program. That just says No Android Device Found.
So today i went back to stock htc sense software after running a test with different custom roms. Well now when i plug up to the usb android file transfer no longer opens. Im not sure why this is happening. Now i cant transfer photos an videos like i was once doing. Before kitkat 4.4.2 (at&t) it was working perfectly but now nothing opens up.
I followed the instruction I've found in this place to be able to make file transfers (pictures in this case) from my LG290C Tracfone to my computer, using Bluesoleil. This works, indeed! But I have a question. After I installed bluesoleil in my pc, there is a new connection icon on the tray (like the icon with 2 small monitors, only that this one has a re X on it.Everything is working perfect...but I don't know if this new Icon with the red X means that something else may be wrong (I can't find anything wrong until this moment, except that, when windows start, an small and never seen before window opens, asking for a password. Then I hit ok without entering a password and then windows load normally. When I place the mouse cursor over the new icon on the tray, it reads "a network cable is unplugged".If I open this icon, a window with 3 different connections opens, showing this new "connection" as:
LOCAL AREA CONNECTION 3 NETWORK CABLE UNPLUGED, FIREWALLED. BLUETOOTH PAN NETWORK ADAPTER
Is the above normal when you install a bluetooth adapter in your pc, or when you use the Bluesoleil software?
I've been having a problem since before i updated my phone, i've used 3 different USB cables(sony cables-the one i got when i bought it, also, it used to connect before and i can connect other phones so it's not the cables) on 2 different laptops (works with other phone) but all it does is charge and nothing more...it doesn't give me the ''connect your phone'' option. I went into connectivity, changed the connectivity mode, tried pc companion..nothing..my phone is not rooted or anything. i've unmounted and mounted my SD card in another phone and it works so it's not my SD..
I have downloaded skype app on my computer for my xperia but i can not transfer this file to my mobile. Please suggest me how can i transfer this file to my phone or how can i install this app.
My problem: Incoming file transfer cancelled. Your built-in media storage and media card are full
There is a knowlege base KB29417 descussing the error, and it says that we have to upgrade to BBM 6.1.0.37. The problem is I have 6.1.0.49 and cannot downgrade to that version.
I need to put the back up from my old device on to my new Blackberry, but I no longer have my old Blackberry, and I need my contacts, and my device manager says I have to have the old one to do this. Is there any way I can just transfer the back-up file on to my new phone?
How to put my contacts from my Contacts book on Mac into the Htc One? I dont really need to sync anything because i rather drag an drop like i do with photos etc using AFT. Is there a way to do the same but with the vcards?
My nexus 5 worked perfectly with Android File Transfer, and suddenly, about a week ago it stopped working, nothing has changed in that week, except that AFT was behaving in an unexpected manner and I force quit it several times. The device shows charging but no connection. When I open AFT, it says plug in the Android device.
I did usual troubleshooting:
1) checked on the mac attached devices, my phone wasn't one of them 2) re-installed Android File Transfer, same issue 3) trying changing the settings on the device - turning off and on the USB debugging, changing type of connection with the computer from Media device to camera and back. 4) Restarted both devices and tried various cables, still nothing.
There is a video file (MP4. H.264,AAC) which is normally support by my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 both devices. However when I sync it with my iPad, there is no problem with it at all. The video could play on iPad normally but when i sync the same file with my iPhone on the same laptop and same iTunes database, it is not working! And iTunes pop up a notification thats tell me "the file format is not support for yout iPhone".
It is the matter because of the different iOS version? My iPad 2 is operating iOS 5.1.1 and my iPhone 4 is operating under iOS 4.3.3.
I can't transfer files between my xperia x8 and my lapton using Bluetooth File Transfer (which I downloaded from Android Market). I paired the two devices but it didn't help.

When somebody is trying to send me a picture or voice note using bbm, I am geeting a message that said "incoming file transfer canceled. Your built in media storage and media card are full". I have 23.9 MB free memory and 5.1GB in the media card.My blackbery is 8520 v5.0.0.900 Bundle 1626BBM is 6.1.0.71
I just installed a new app I found in the latest issue of PC Magazine. It is called Software Data Cable. It provides ftp file transfer between an Android device and your PC. It works best with Filezilla Client to transfer files over your wifi network. Works excellent with my Xooom with ICS. Fast and no USB cable needed. Only negative is that it seems to only see the internal SD storage.
I'm switching from my old (but beloved) curve 8520 to a new bold 9900 and i would like to know how is it possible to (safely) transfer files (mail, contacts, numbers etc) from my old device to the new one. My idea was to do a back up of my 8520 and than upload it to the bold 9900. is that the right way to transfer file?
My nexus 5 is caught in the bootloop on marshmallow and I dont know how to even begin to address the problem. Power button isn't stuck as far as I can tell and I can't get android file transfer to even detect it for obvious reasons. I presume I need to flash a new version of the OS to my phone but that has never been my area of expertise.
