i just bought my htc hero yesterday and got it flashed with all web and apps working, i brought it home and used the htc sync thing and now the internet and all things with it stopped working what do i do?
View 1 RepliesI have a HTC Hero on the regional carrier, Cellular South. For some time I've been using the WiFi, which comes in particularly handy in those places I visit where I can't get a cellular signal. Recently the WiFi just stopped working. It's turned on, it just does not work. I've uninstalled a number of applications, rebooted the phone and took it in to the Cellular South store, where the Hero expert looked at it. Their suggestion was a hard reset, which would wipe out everything on the phone. It would all have to be reloaded afterward. The suggestion came with no guarantee and they said that it might have to be replaced if the reset did not cure the problem. I've experienced other problems with the Hero falling back to "base Android" when the HTC Sense application got set to not autostart. This probably due to interaction with some downloaded application.
My question is if anyone else has experienced WiFi not working and knows of any non-destructive fixes for the problem? (e.g. look for a particular program that needs to be restarted)
is there a broadband hack to use your clearwire internet for your cell phone like you would if you had cricket, if so how would i go about doing it? i want 4G speeds on my hero.

First i compressed as .mp4 (H.264/AAC) which worked fine on iPhone, worked ok on a SE-X1 (needed to load whole movie before it could play), the Hero couldn't recognize the file at all.
The info page for Hero says it handles mpeg-4 (H.263 and H.264) and MP3/AAC.Is it just the .mp4 container that the Hero doesn't like?Does anyone know what format that would be best for video on the net to work on most phones?
My pc companion wouldnt update my phone to 2.3.3 so i decided to flash it to get the update that way, but now that ive done that i dont have any internet settings and apparantly i need to get sony ericsson to text me them

View 9 Replies View Relatedi have had my blackberry for about 4 months, i am on a sim only contract which has blackberry internet, this morning i installed the blackberry desktop manager so i could update my blackberry from version 4.6 to 5.0, wouldnt let me do it from my blackberry, dont know why. After i did this everything was working fine but my app world had gone, so i downloaded it again and it was the new version, i noticed i could update bbm, so i tried to do this, i then went out to a area which doesnt have signal for orange, so the updates cancelled, when i got back in signal it was telling me to reboot my phone, do i did this, after i did this and it came back on the internet is no longer working, instead of GRPS it says GSM and when i go to services status it says blackberry internet not connected and i cant send bbms, use facebook or the internet, im really confused and dont understand what has happened,i have tried everything but nothing works, do i need to ring Orange?

I have a rooted HTC Hero and I've previously used my phone's internet sharing mode succesfully but now it won't work. I called Sprint and they said they no longer support phone as modem but I luckily spoke to a tech that told me it is possibly and told me to ask around about how to get it to work.

My 5800XM has stopped connecting to the internet.If I go to, say the Ovi Store, I get the frot page, but instead of going to the Store, it returns to the previous screen. The same happens with other websites, too. The phone usually asks how I wish to connect - WAP, wireless network and so on, but it is no longer doing so. i just got my phone less than 2 months ago and i just somehow realized my LED doesnt work properly. I couldnt recall since when it has been like this. the LED only flashes once for every call, or incoming new messages. ive checked the LED settings turned to ON, and also used the TRY IT option in the settings, same, it only flashed once. the LED coverage indicator also had been turned on, and it only flashed once, eventhough the network is on full coverage.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow is it possible to change the esn free without cdma ws newer paid versions.I was able to use Qpst for m old thunderbolt and unlocked the nvm folder and hex edit the esn.Im able to use UNI_CDMA and read the memory and Change the Esn by hex editing the file. But when I go to restore and Click mix match esn. It restores but stops at 100% and the phone resets and it says connect error.
