have a 12-month-old Hero, which was upgraded to Android 2.1 a few months back.i used to use HTC Sync v2, but now have to use v3 with Android 2.1. The problem is, it doesn't work.the software installs okay, and the icon sits in the Windows XP system tray, but when you plug in the phone, HTC Sync fires up, the phone says "connected" and HTC Sync crashes:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error!
Program: C:Program FilesHTCHTC Sync 3.0htcUPCTLoader.exe
abnormal program termination
I also tried the latest version, which came out a few weeks ago too, with the same error.I've been corresponding with HTC C/S for several weeks with no success. They keep suggesting obvious stuff, like anti-virus software and USB problems. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've done integrity checks on Outlook data, I've been through my startups, and made sure all drivers and OS patches are up-to-date.There's not a lot of software on this laptop (IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad R52 with 2GB RAM), and there are no other software issues.
I'm a newbie in here and need help. So, to keep a long story....long. Recently Dell recalled my hard drive and sent out a new one. Previously I was running XP Pro/Outllook '03/with an 8820 and BB Desktop 4.6 flawlessly. Now, with the new hard drive I am running Vista Business (32bit)/Outlook '03/with a brand new Bold 9700 (T Mobile) and BB Desktop 5.0.1. I am unable to setup intellisync with outlook. When setting up sync, I get through all the motions and get a "Runtime error", "Unable to find system in table file". I searched all over the internet and did everything that I could find for this to no avail. I reset the connection in dos per the tech guide on here, it didn't work. I did the clean install with removing registry entries (with all available BB Desktop versions, 4.6 - 5.01) none worked. I need to be able to sync my contacts and calendar! Is there a BB tech line number?
motocast runtime error whenever i try to sync with my phone, i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling motocast still fails. I have been using it to sync for over a month and it just suddenly stoped working.
i have redownloaded and installed version 7 of the oc backup and sync software....is there a problem with it as i get an ERROR .... RUNTIME ERROE - and then it crashes and i now cannot sync with outlook - what a nightmare.
I can download the software but when I want to install it, it refuses. Always get the info:Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library and than Program: C:.. This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
I have been trying for days to get HTC Sync to identify my phone.I am running Windows7 32 bit, HTC Hero with 2.1 update and HTC Sync 3.0.5.I have tried different cables and different ports. Also I have tried ticking the usb debugging option and various other things.
Am I the only one that gets these errors everytime I connect? I just click "try again" on the first message, then I click past the second message and then it works, but it seems odd. I don't have anything special on my network, it's just a basic cable modem with a wireless router and my computer connects via wireless. See attached for errors
I'm about to compress a lot of short videos for mobile phones that will be online. First i compressed as .mp4 (H.264/AAC) which worked fine on iPhone, worked ok on a SE-X1 (needed to load whole movie before it could play), the Hero couldn't recognize the file at all.
The info page for Hero says it handles mpeg-4 (H.263 and H.264) and MP3/AAC.Is it just the .mp4 container that the Hero doesn't like?Does anyone know what format that would be best for video on the net to work on most phones?
I did a hard reset on my 5800XM and now my java apps doesnt work because i lost the Java Runtime. I tried to install some versions (beta) that i found and the problem is more or less solved but that versions had bugs etc, are not stable.. how can i get the stable version (no beta version) of the firmware or whatever?
I have a noia lumia 710, and whenever I connect my windows phone , zune opens but then an error message prompts. " Connection error, Can't connect to your phone.Disconnect it, restart it, then try connecting again."I have tried all possible solutions.I try every steps suggested in that link.htmand also that link I could do the Certificate steps cause when I open certmgr.msc I don't see anywhere the Zune certificate.
I get new phone restored and try using BB desktop to sync my Outlook contact list with phone. It wants to errase all contacts and then add all of them back in each time. Also get an error at the end of sync "During sync, some of the records were invalid. The following 1 records were skipped:Address Book: Device - 0Microsoft Outlook - 1 Do you want to view the sync log for more details Yes / No" Never did this with last phone.
I downloaded a leaked OTA link for the new Twitter app and after a reboot I get this error message after halfway through booting up - "JUM error 545".I have mac and blackberry desktop manage, but can't see to get it hooked up because it just keeps reading that error message and won't sync with the mac.
when i connect my iphone to my pc i get "itunes could not connect to this iphone. An unknown error occurred (0xE8000012) i have the correct itunes i also tried to reset my phone, i did this before i went to bed and it was still trying to reset when i woke the next day should it take this long?
No matter how hard I look I simply cannot find the select runtime option in the developer's menu to switch to ART. It's simply not there. I have a Rogers LG G3 and the device performance has been pretty sluggish since I bought the thing.
I have a Blackbery storm 9530 with software version 5.0.0.328 installed. I am using Windows Vista and trying to sync with Outlook 2007. Prior to a recent upgrade of the DM, I was able to sync my Calendar and Contacts. Now I get Blackberry Desktop Synchronization error "Determining the root configuration of main system" and then a Intellisync error follows displaying "Unknown error reported". I am unable to complete the sync.
I can send and receive sms and also I can send mms but I cannot receive mms. I've tried turning wifi off, using Handcent and disabling messages but it still won't work. Has anyone had any luck with this?
I have a HTC Hero working on metro with voice, text and web some apps work but some do not. most work through wifi. does anyone have any ideas about mms and getting all apps to work through network vs wifi. there is a guy in Hamtramk who has supposedly gotten everything working through metro. for about $100 he will take my phone and add mms.
I'm looking to switch to Sprint and get a new phone (currently have a BB 8120 on TMO). I'm considering the Hero, because I'd like an Android phone, but don't want to get locked into the $10/mo that Sprint charges for the Evo and all future 4G phones. My hesitation is the one that every gadget lover has - will the Hero be obsolete soon after I buy it? We already know that 2.1 is the last Android OS the Hero is going to get.
I'm probably worrying about nothing as the Hero can handle everything I envision doing with the phone - in decreasing order of importance: calls, texts, emails, web browsing, GPS, etc.Hero owners, what would you say to someone considering a 2yr relationship with the Hero?
I just got a Hero, am trying to get my hotmail, but it will not download emails. I am getting a message "Sorry! The application mail (process com.htc.andriod.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. " I called Sprint and they walked me through resetting the phone, deleting the hotmail account, and adding it again, but the same problem persists.
So I've done all the steps on how to send an MMS but when I click on the menu button to pull up attatchments its not there. I texted CS help (I'm with Cellular South) and they said that the Hero is unable to send or recieve MMS at this time and an app is being developed, yet I see all over the internet that people can send MMS so what is the deal?
after using htc hero for 2 months, i tell you right now the biggest problem is that the cpu is not fast enough to run android, with senseUI with its 7 screens.occosionally, IF I haven't restarted it in a long time, The phone will lag so slow that after having pressed something on the screen, it will lag and then capture the movement seconds afterwards.
I dunno if the Eris is that much better to make me stay with Verizon. The Sprint plans are just better. I really have no idea if there's any difference between the two though.
I am looking for an emulator for windows so that i can test out software functionality of the device. So far i know that rim releases such emulators for its devices and i'm hoping i can find one f or HTC Hero.If you would happen to know anything please let me know. Thank You.
I have an HTC Hero with Sprint, and I'm wondering how to tether it to get internet connection on my laptop through USB. My laptop doesn't have Bluetooth.
