In setting/battery there are several apps shown. Are these the apps running in the background and consuming battery? If NOT how could I find out what apps are running in the b/g?
I stopped some of these apps (not the ones for android services) using "Force stop" but they were still appears here. So how could I stop them to save battery?
Finally got around to sticking my SIM card into my 6P and decided to leave it off the charger over night to see how much battery percentage it would take away. I fell asleep with the battery at 55% and awoke with it around 30%. Looking at the battery usage, cell standby is consuming more of the battery than anything else. I've seen this bug in previous versions of Android, but have not heard anything about it with 6.0. Is my phone bad?
I'm on Verizon if that matters at all.
WiFi in my nexus 5 is taking nearly 40% of battery though the WiFi is turned off This issue started after updating to android 6.0 . Is there any fault with my mobile.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that while in the battery stats screen Wifi is using over 10% of my battery and is on the top of the list. It was never like that in Android 5.1.1. I have restarted my phone several times.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAccording to my better battery stats my WiFi is always running. Is this normal even when WiFi is turned off?

Since T-Mobile offers unlimited streaming for many of the music services like Slacker, DI, Sky.fm that I subscribe to I wonder streaming them on LTE if it uses less battery life than streaming them on WiFi on 5 Ghz?
View 5 Replies View RelatedStrange that there aren't much complaints about that, but after I got the even buggier 5.0.1 update, the WiFi's battery drain is unstoppable. My usage and settings are exactly how I left them before the update several days ago. WiFi uses about 60% while the phone sleeping. No abnormal wakelocks details detected
View 4 Replies View RelatedI noticed that after 6.0.1 wifi drains my battery when it's off and not even kept on during sleep (it's set on never). Wi-Fi frequency band is automatic though. Location is set on battery saving mode.
When I go to battery details the first thing to appear after charging the phone to the full is Wi-Fi to 1%. The time running increases little by little, no CPU usage and the computed power use also rises in mAh as time goes by.
My wifi has been off since i upgraded to M, clean install from the Google images. It still reports my wifi as on and using up my battery....

Yesterday I did an update to several programs including Google and noticed major battery drain. I was not sure which program did it but checked Battery in Settings and saw it was the screen causing the drain. Apparently when the Google program updated, it changed the setting for automatic brightness adjustment to ON. I turned it off and the battery is fine. I keep brightness set to about one quarter to one third brightness. I think the battery life is great and I can easily get thru the day.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since the android 6 update I have noticed that Google play services is always top of my battery drain stats.
Also the mobile radio active figure is always going up and up!
I do have a android wear device synced but I always have and never noticed this is lollipop.
What could be causing this? I don't have Google now or location services on ...
Noticed that Google Play Services battery optimization is grayed out and I can't turn in on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere is a lot of RAM consuming and battery usage by the app com.sonymobile.intelligent.iengine. I have attached a screenshots for your reference. How to avoid this and is there any problems to face or performance loses if i stop this app???
Finally for which function this app (com.sonymobile.intelligent.iengine) belongs to and what are the functions it supports?
I recently updated my Neo v to ICS...I wasnt able to see songs album images in music player...so i did factory reset...music player problem is solved but now my cell is consuming too much of battery then before... Also google market is not opening...internet browser is slow.

View 2 Replies View RelatedNexus 5, 16GB, MRA58N (stock, not rooted). Sometimes the power percentages shown for each process in the battery monitor do not add up to the total battery drain? I am finding that sometimes they add up to within 1% of the total shown.... and sometimes they are WAY off with as much as 30% of the displayed battery drain unaccounted for. Since I don''t have access to the battery terminals, I can't determine independently whether the percentages shown are simply inaccurate, or whether there are missing processes (ie., processes not shown at all in the battery monitor).
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy friend and I are both experiencing huge background data usage with the Google Backup Transport service that is part of Google Play Services.
My S6 Edge on 5.1.1 has been steadily increasing it's consumption of background data with this service over the last month and it's currently sitting at having used over 1.7GB.
My friend's Galaxy S4 on 5.0.1 is experiencing almost exactly the same data consumption over the exact same period of time. Something is deffo up with this but what it is.
Some old solutions I've read online include disabling background sync etc. but this isn't a solution and doesn't explain what it had been fine up until this month.
My 3GS has suddenly began to consume 0.8mb per hour cellular date, even when it is on a WiFi network! Have killed all apps be double clicking HOME button, and shutting them all down individually. I have also turned off PUSH mail, but problem persists. On ios5.1.1 & new battery fitted only 10- weeks ago.
Info:
iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1.1, Cellular Data used on WiFi
I upgraded my rooted nexus 5 from 4.4.4 to 5.1.1 and now it will not connect to wifi or data even though the wifi says it is connected.
Google play cannot connect.
My battery does not hit zero for it to die. It will sometimes die at 35% sometimes at 65%!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been getting pretty good battery life, but was wondering if I should be using 3G or LTE on the N5. I know the N5 has envelope tracking, but does that really work? I have looked around and there isn't much info about this. There is quite a bit of info for other phones, but almost nothing for the N5.
I usually get an LTE signal of one to two bars; around 98 to 110 dBm and 30 to 40 asu. 3G varies from two to four full bars; 85 to 100 dBm and around 10 asu. This is at my home on AT&T. I'm almost always connected to WiFi, though.Battery life has been pretty good. Usually around three to four hours of screen on time from 100% to 30%, with some standby time.
I have not had occasion to seek directions for travel using my Nexus 5 before. Today I needed directions and used Google Maps for no more than 5 minutes. The device became very hot. After I shut down the directions I looked at the battery information on the app battery notifier BT free. It said discharging, temp/health 118F/overheat. I was taken by surprise. Should I have expected that much heat from using Google Maps directions for such a short time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a second hand nexus 5 to find out that the battery indicator is always showing 42% and never updates, regardless of the actual battery charge level. I tried replacing the battery with the one from my brother`s nexus 5, then replaced the usb port board. Also tried:
- rooting
- installing twrp 2.8.7.1
- elemenalX 6.0 kernel
- Android 6.0.1
- Cache and dalvik wipe
- Use the battery until phone shuts down
Although the indicator jumped to 83% and to 54% after some actions which I dont remember. Maybe after cache wipe, not sure.
My Nexus 5 suddenly have problems about the WiFi. The WiFi is not working. If I go to setting , it is saying Turning On WiFi and it stucks there for many days. I already tried many things available online like, cache clear , factory resetting, safe mode etc. But nothing worked. It starts happening after latest update from android
View 2 Replies View RelatedNormally I wouldn't care that I'm connected to WiFi but since the WiFi where I work its terrible and there's so many routers to choose from its killing my battery. Even when I turn it off in my settings it just turns on again.
View 3 Replies View Relatedtheir N6 on Sprint where Sprint service essentially turns off whenever Wi-Fi is on. This is the only way I've been able to describe my issues with the N6. Whenever I am at home, I am usually on Wi-Fi because it works more reliably than LTE. So whenever someone calls me, the call goes straight to voicemail. I only receive a missed call notification if someone leaves a voicemail. I've been able to test this out with family members where I turn on Wi-Fi, they call me, and the call goes straight to VM. Then, I turn off Wi-Fi, they call me again, and I get the call.
Keeping LTE on all the time (and Wi-Fi off) would not be an issue but for the fact that Sprint's service notoriously sucks inside any building made of concrete (even in Manhattan). I'm not ready to switch providers because I've been grandfathered into a no-throttle unlimited everything plan where I essentially can use 5GB of data each month and pay a reasonable price. I moved to NYC recently and before lived in the D.C. area, where I lived in a house adjacent to a tower. There, I didn't mind keeping Wi-Fi off because I always had great LTE.
This is quite frustrating and it appears to be documented to some effect on Sprint's website (without a fix, of course). Sprint has now reset my network, PRL, and profile; and the only other option appears to be replacing the phone through my insurance. I'm hesitant, though, because I preordered a 6P.
I've been having problems with WiFi .
It keeps saying that it's out of range when I'm right next to it. I have to restart my phone in order for it to see it's in range. Not only mine but the one I use at work and Starbucks.
Hope it's not the new update 4.4.3
So about a week ago my WiFi just wouldn't work anymore. When I try to turn it on, it stays stuck at "Turning WiFi on". I think I've tried almost anything to make it work again. I've reflashed the factory image 3 time (Android 6.0), I've tried downgrading to Lollipop 5.1.1 but it still wouldn't work. I took it to a GSM Service and they said that there is no hardware problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on a 32gb Google Play purchased white Nexus 5, activated on Sprint. I went through a whole charge cycle yesterday with Wi-Fi off, and under battery usage / Wi-Fi / Use Details / Wi-Fi running, it showed "Wi-Fi running" 17 hours. I never even had Wi-Fi turned on once.
I've been playing with it today, turning Wi-Fi on and off, and no matter what, the Wi-Fi usage time matches my phone on time. It seems according to the battery meter my Wi-Fi is always on.
