I have just upgraded to Marshmallow (MRA58K), installed some apps. Then I went to Storage & USB and discovered, that there is 3 GB memory used of 12,55GB. The list below showed, that less than half of the 3GB should be used. Where did my 1,6GB go?

I have two Nexus 5, one is running Lollipop 5.1.1, the other Marshmallow 6.0 (OTA upgrade).
USB Audio out works fine on the Lollipop Nexus 5: I can connect a USB DAC (iBasso D-zero MK2) using an OTG cable and play streaming music with Spotify, Google Play Music and local music files with Rocket Player. Connecting the same USB DAC with the same cable to the Marshmallow Nexus 5 fails: no sound when playing streaming music and local files using the same apps. (The USB Audio Player Pro app works fine on the Marshmallow Nexus 5, though, allowing to play local music files via USB.)
I tried the "Select USB Configuration" setting in Developers Options and set it to "Audio Source", with no success. Also, the "Disable USB audio routing" setting in Developers Options is disabled.
I'm stuck on my nexus 6 on buggy Android m beta, how do I update to full marshmallow? It doesn't show in system updates
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to marshmallow, the internal storage is no longer accessible from my computer. It only works when on twrp recovery mode. Already turned off USB debugging, changed MTP and back, reinstalled the latest ADB drivers, removed the ADB drivers completely and no cigar.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo as the subject says, somehow my internal storage moved to a different location in my phone. It moved from storage/emulated/0 to data/media/0 somehow. I don't know how but now my apps and file managers are unable to access my internal storage and I am unable to download anything from my browser. My nexus 5 is rooted with Android 6.0 and has experimentalx kernel with xposed. Other than that, my nexus 5 is stock. I tried using root browser and solid browser to move my internal storage back to the correct place but that just gives me an error. I also tried using Android commander to move my storage using my pc but it's giving me permission denied. So I don't know what to do.

When I click on the three dots it says Help and Feedback. The phone is not locked. I am tethering my phone to my computer.
My goal is to transfer pictures from my phone to my computer via tethering but I cannot locate the internal storage in order to click on MTP.
I have installed cataclysm rom after doing the full wipe and it booted up without problems but then I deleted internal storage in twrp and it didn't boot anymore. I have tried reinstalling it but when it started there was no status bar and no soft keys.

I can still get into TWRP, but when I click reboot > system , I get a warning message "No OS Installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?"
I am using a Mac and have the SDK etc. installed, but I don't even see the device as a USB device in order to try and figure out how to get the system files back on the device.
Few months back i had installed the Android M preview and then to root the device i had installed a custom Kernel on my Google Nexus 5. I noticed that on my Moto X Pure (Style) before and also now on my Nexus 6P that whenever I charged it to 100% it won't say "Full" but instead "Charging on AC" still. On my Moto X before, the "Full" message will be displayed after 30 mins or so. However on my Nexus 6P now, it will take more than an hour for it to say "Full".

I saw the cm website had a new cm13 nightly for angler, so I decided to try it out, so I downloaded it and gapps, and rebooted into twrp, then I wiped everything besides for internal storage and then I proceeded to Install cm, it took a few minutes, and then when it was done I rebooted. The first sign of something weird was that after the regular your device can't be checked for corruption message it went black and then said that my device is corrupt in red letters, then it started the cm boot animation, I waited about 5 minutes and nothing happened so I rebooted into recovery and it asked me for an encryption password...
My device was not previously encrypted and I didn't require a password to Install cm, so I tried wiping everything besides for internal storage, and then I was about to flash again, but non of my files were there so I had nothing to flash.... So I rebooted into my bootloader and fastbooted stock and now I'm on stock, but all my files and backups are gone. I guess that's why it's good to have an external sd, because that never got wiped by installing a rom before, and if I would have one, I would have all my pictures, music, and app backups. But now I have to start from scratch all because I tried a new build cyanogen mod
I tried to build a zImage for nexus 5 and I did everything as usual, git cloned kerenel/msm.git, git checkouted hammerhead marshmallow-mr1, got gcc 4.8 eabi, make hammerhead_defconfig, did one change in config (the only thing I need is TTL target support), make, got no compilation errors, repacked boot.img, tried to fastboot boot and my smartpone simply stuck on Google logo. I tried to compile without any changes in config and again, the smartphone got stuck at Google logo. Unluckily, I don't have UART adapter to see boot logs.

AFAIK, i can't use the OTA update I received months ago for 5.0. Is there anyway I can upgrade (without wiping any data), to 6.0? If not, what would be the best way to upgrade to 5.0 (not a clean install/wipe)?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Nexus 5 did an OTA upgrade to marshmallow today. SMS (handcent) and email didn't work after the upgrade. I fixed the SMS by uninstalling and re-installing handcent ( I think it is called Next SMS) now.
The email still doesn't work. When I click on the existing email app on the homescreen, it says 'app not installed'. The settings/accounts shows a Personal (POP3) account set up with the correct details, but I don't know how to access it.. There is no way to add an email app/widget to the homescreen... (there is nothing to do with email in the apps or widgets sections).
I tried to update my Nexus 5 to Marshmallow using ADB/Fastboot and Googles images. I have followed a number of different (yet the same) approaches to flash the unit and NOTHING works. I tried to go back to 5.1.1 and can not restore the unit. It has not bricked (yet) and not sure what to try next. I have read options that call for reformatting parts of the operating systems but fearful this will brick the unit. I have flashed the bootloader, phone, recovery, userdata, sys, etc., and nothing works. I know others have had trouble with Nexus 5 based on what I have read however to date not be able to restore the device.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLooks like one of the new features of Marshmallow is native visual voicemail. I think it's only active on T-Mobile so far and it seems to be working for me. All voicemail is downloaded to the dialer app and its synced with the carrier voicemail system. It's okay but not as good as Google voice as it does not convert the message to text. Otherwise pretty useful if anybody ever calls me and leaves a message.

I am trying to adb shell --> su --> then
pkill -KILL daemonsu
And immediately I go into settings and try to Encrypt. I get green android screen and then the phone reboots and goes into boot loop, (I verified... waited for more than 1hr). I interrupt bootloop by powering it off and restart, it will boot normally but not encrypted.
I just got an upgrade notification to marshmallow today. But I still want to stay with lollipop yet. How to remove the notification without being wakelock.
