texting adds country code causing failed messages and I keep failing. I have removed assisted calling. This is a galaxy s6 edge from verizon and i am now in Germany. I am using telekom network.
View 2 RepliesHas anyone else had a problem with their Atrix while texting where the phone (or keyboard) adds a different letter arbitrarily while typing. In my case my phone adds the letter "Q" however its in lower case. I have removed battery and restarted multiple times. No better.

I bought my Curve 8520 in Indonesia when I was living there. Now I'm back in Australia and when I call a (Australian) number in my contacts that has a 0 at the front, the phone puts the Indonesian country code in front. I have to input the number in full which is areal pain expecially as all mobile numbers start with 0. Is there some way to fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am facing a bit of an irritating problem on my samsung galaxy s6. When I go to phone -> 1-9 keyboard and use it for the letters (2=a,b,c; 3=d,e,f, etc.), I can easily find the number I need. The problem is that for most of my contacts, when I click them, a second window pops up, asking me exactly which number for this contact I'd like to dial. Now.... I don't have a second number for any of my contacts.
When I go and check them in the contacts menu, they only show one mobile number per contact. When the window thingy pops up, it always shows multiple options of the same exact number, or maybe the same number with some spacings added / removed between the digits. I am 99% sure that the problem is because of google contacts, viber, whatsapp, etc., but do not know how to fix it without removing the contact from the app.
Just recently after selecting stock apps like messaging, internet, etc. instead of opening the app an add and a quick flash to Google Play takes place. I use Avast and it found no problems.

Now when I dial a number from my contact list (even one in my own city and area code), my BB puts a +1 (country code for the usa) in front of the number.As I don't recall seeing this before, is this something new? View 4 Replies View RelatedI store my contact mobile phone #s in international format (ie +61 4xx xxxxxx) so they are accessable from overseas when I travel without having to edit. Outlook 2003 seems to put a space character by default after the country code, so these appear as +61 4xxxxxxxx in Outlook.When I sync my Nokia 6120 to Outlook this space then gets transferred across to the phone as the # for the contact.When I receive anything from the contact (phone call, SMS etc), the number I have saved for them does not exactly match the number that comes through (either because of the extra space, or because it will come through in Australian format ie 04xx xxxxxx) and the contact does not get recognised by the phone, and simply appears as the #, not the contact name.If I send an SMS first & this is replied to, it comes back correctly identified, but new messages etc from contacts are not identified.
Is there any way to remove the space that Outlook seems to put after the country code by default? And is there any way for the phone to recognise +61 4xxxxxxxx and +614xxxxxxxx and 04xxxxxxxx all as the same number for the same contact?
In s 6 edge cannot find option to put signature in messages....
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having troubles with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925W8 running Android 5.1.1. Ever since I upgraded to 5.1.1 I have sometimes been unable to receive text messages. This never used to happen with the older version of software I ran when I first got my device, and it is becoming rather annoying.
At random times I cannot receive text messages, and I have found the only way to 'spur' my device to receive messages would be to sending one. But this can be rather tedious, because if I haven't received a text in a while I'm not sure if it's my phone acting up again (so I must send a random text to try and download the waiting texts) or I just genuinely have not received a text.
I got the Edge a month ago. I transferred across from an iPhone - using the Smart Switch app to transfer all of my data across as well.
Since the transfer, the messaging app freezes, becomes unresponsive or is incredibly slow (especially in text threads with a lot of messages in this). This means that the keyboard freezes, words/letters won't appear for a while after they have been typed, sometimes the keyboard doesn't appear at all, and the messages thread takes a long time to update.
What can I do about this? How can I stop my messages app freezing so often? I really enjoy the edge, but the fact that I can't message properly (or that it freezes/is so slow) is ruining the phone for me.
I am using Galaxy S6 Edge. Issue started happening two days ago. Even when there are no new messages the WhatsApp icon shows "1" suggesting there is one unread message.
Also even though there are multiple unread messages it still shows "1" in the icon.
Tried clearing cache and force restarting the app and still doesn't work.
I was wondering if there is a way to set up text messages without using a 3rd party app, to see if the person I have sent a text to, has received the text. I know on my Galaxy S5, it was in the options, but I cant find it on my S6 edge.......

View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have an S6 edge and for about a week now I am constantly getting error messages on the phone which are always that some app/Internet/samsung keyboard/touchwiz etc etc has had to stop. It can be sorted by closing the app, however sometimes the phone totally freezes so I have to manually reset it or it will reset itself. I have tried factory resets which have been to no gain and have even had the same error messages after a factory reset and there's nothing on the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently made the switch from an iPhone 6 to a SG6 Edge. I am loving the phone except for one key thing. I am unable to receive text messages that are over 160 characters. I know that once an SMS is over 160 characters, it turns into an MMS. But the thing is, my MMS settings are set up, everything should be working okay.
I don’t know if this matters but this phone is unlocked with Sprint, and I am currently using Rogers as my service provider. If I cant find any resolution to this I think I am going to have to switch phones either back to an iphone (which I don’t want to) or another Android phone.
Here is the list of things I have done to try to fix this problem:
-Factory reset my phone, didn’t work
-Configured my MMS and APN settings manually.
-Sent myself a picture message, received it fine.
-Sent myself a message over 160 characters, received it fine.
-Used the stock messaging app, as well as 3 different ones. (currently using textra due to the simplicity of it)
-When I had my iphone, I disabled the iMessage, also went on the apple website to make sure my phone isn’t linked to imessage. Its completely off
-Rogers said it’s a problem on the other end (contacts aren’t sending messages properly)
-this is false because I wont get any messages from android users, blackberry users, and iphone users. Its not just one or two contacts, its my whole contact list.
-few of my buddies have the S6 edge and none of them have this problem. (few switched from iphone)
The only solution I can possibly think of is getting a different sim card, but service provider said this will do absolutely nothing.
I run a business and I need to be able to receive SMS messages over 160 characters (no I will not use a 3rd party app which Samsung suggested. I need my texts to work.)
When I'm trying to delete text on my S6 edge, the screen keeps resizing to large. Is there anyway of stopping this from happening?

It displays all my sent messages in my inbox! Not just the ones from within a conversation, but all my sent messages... This is extremely strange. did not have that problem with my Samsung Alpha... I am at lost to understand Probably some simple setting I am missing?
