the phone maybe 6/7 weeks ago, plugged into laptop, checked up to date, restored some data from S3 backup, installed a few standard apps, all good.. After two weeks or so phone starts randomly rebooting - not with any specific app, could even be sat on the table and you'd suddenly hear the start up noise. Spoke to EE Support, tried some 'resetting the network' thing from their end, no change. Called again and was passed to Samsung Support - talked me through a hard reset. No change. Posted back to Samsung. Came back a few days later saying no fault found but they wiped it, updated it and it's good to go. Booted and phone was crashing every time I opened Internet and a few other apps. Didn't get as far as installing apps or backup. Posted back again. Phone came back again, no fault found but same problems straight out of the box. Called and explained again, posted again, this time they've told me that the phone has been damaged and is beyond repair and included a screenshot of a screen saying 'Know Warranty VOID 0x1'.
After having a rant about their packaging and that it must have been knocked in their support centre (yes, that is my level of knowledge of phone rooting) I've just Googled and found it actually means that the phone has been rooted. The phone definitely hasn't been rooted by me on purpose and the only update I've run is through Kies. The only apps installed via Play Store. Is it possible that something that Samsung Support has done or asked me to do has changed this flag?
I've been having the same problem with 3 different audiobook players on the S6. These include Overdrive, Audible, and Smart Audiobook Player. All 3 behave identically. Tech support for Overdrive and Audible are at a loss.
First, audio pauses randomly over a period of 5 minutes to 1 hour. Second, the audio paused by this bug and/or manually paused will magically start playing over a period of 1 hour to 8 hours. This is very annoying when it happens at 3:00am.
I wiped my phone and reinstalled from a backup. Things worked fine for a few days. The problem then came back.
I got a new phone from Verizon warranty. For the first 4 weeks things worked fine. Then, suddenly the problem came back. I wiped the phone. The problem went away (I think - it's only been a day). I can't see wiping my phone once every week or two indefinitely.
So far this has happened 3 times:I was listening to music on the phone and then suddenly it stoped and played the startup music. When I unlocked the phone it had a blank screen and only a couple of icons at the top, one being the battery indicator. A few seconds later and its fully rebooted with signal strength etc
In the last 3-4 weeks, I've seen my Nexus 5 rebooting here and there randomly. He's not stock into a boot loop, he works just fine and then 'pop', I can see it rebooting without reasons.
I'm running stock 5.1.1, kernel 3.4.0-gbebb36b, Build number LMY48B. The phone is rooted manually, no automatic trick.
Does randomly reboots means something? Is there a way to see what happens/what happened like an event viewer in Windows?
Recently my phone has started to randomly restart and when it boots back up I see an error alert (!) in the notification bar indicating that the phone has recovered from an "abnormal reset" and the error message suggests sending the log file to HTC.
Recently I've been seeing that when I have my phone charging, whether it be on a portable charger or a wall charger and is just sitting there with nothing downloading, it randomly reboots. I feel the phone vibrate and when I look at my phone I see the initial boot motorola M. Not sure what can be causing this.
I've done a search and read some previous posts, and cannot work out why my N900 is randomly rebooting.I have manually restarted my phone and checked the boot count is reset to 0
I have attempted doing a nokia software updater firmware update and it confirms i'm on the latest firmware (10.2010.19.1) and i've used the app updater and updated all apps. It has happened before i enabled the extras-devel repository, so I doubt the fault lies there.
Since i restarted the device prior to running "cat /proc/bootreason" i can't find out the reason why it rebooted, but i will update this post as soon as it does it again.
I recieved this phone from Optus Australia, and is running a number of apps from both the ovi store and the app manager. The only apps i have installed from the extras-devel repository are unrar and unzip apps, although i did note that it updated a few other apps at the same time, like flashlight.
Since upgrading to 5.0, my blackberry tour does this annoying thing where it randomly starts playing the music I uploaded onto it. I'll listen to music on my blackberry while I'm at the gym and when I'm done I hit the stop button. Then I'll be standing in an elevator at work the next day and music will start randomly blasting from my phone. Needless to say this is rather embarrassing and obnoxious.
I have a Nexus 5 32gb for 1 year and 3 months. Since last week my cellphone starts to ring randomly (the ringtone of my alarm) with no notification on screen. It only goes off if I press hold or pressing the screen if it is unlocked. I have put all volumes to zero, set the priority to No interruptions but it still rings randomly (my house, my class, everywhere).
I have gone through every solution given, every method that were suggested and still it is rebooting randomly.
The rebooting occurs randomly, it can happen when I'm using the phone, it can happen when I'm not using the phone, it can happen when I charge the phone. But sometimes it work just fine. The most days I have gone without the phone randomly rebooting is 2 days.
I also noticed that before the phone starts to reboot, the screen will freeze and the back will heat up. During the annoying reboot, the phone can be hot. I think this has to do with the battery, but I am not entirely sure since I don't know what I'm dealing with. The most irritating part during the reboot is, the cellular network will not work and when it stops rebooting, the cellular network stay to not working. (My phone is unlocked and I know this because I have been using the phone with 3 different network in the past). The only way for me to get the cellular to work again is to wait for the reboot again or try to manually rebooting the phone several times until I get the network to work again.
I bought my Xperia Pro today and so far my experience with it has made me very disapointed.
First start up, everything looks ok, trying to conect to WiFi and... gets stuck there and fails to connect. I thought maybe I just needed to update the mobile phone and it was fine so I did exactly that. Since then, my new Xperia Pro just keeps randomly restarting for no apparent reason. I've tried repairing it using PC Companion but same effect. SIM card is new, goten same time has the mobile phone.
Why my Samsung Galaxy S6 920F is rebooting and freezing about 10 or more times a day?
- I tried to perform a factory reset + wipe cache partition; - Tried to use it in safe mode - still had issues; - It is even sometimes freezing on boot menu (power+vol_up+home)
I had stock 5.1.1 on it, but if I remember correctly, then it was happening also before 5.1.1, but not 100% what version I had. About 3 weeks ago I had same issue, but then after factory reset it was gone for 2 weeks and last friday again faced with this issue.
I went to settings and then About Phone. Subsequently, I checked for updates and after that I tried updating my phone. The file size was around 12 MB after which it proceeded with rebooting the phone. Unfortunately my phone is not getting rebooted after the software update. It is stuck with the screen showing "Samsun Galaxy S2 GT-19100G". The welcome note with the music screen is also not appearing.
I'm having a scary problem, which my friend had, which lead to her phone being a complete destruction. Basically, the battery is full, yet drains very easily, and then suddenly reboots and the battery power is gone back up etc. The random reboots are worriying me, as well as the battery.
They will automatically shut down and reboot. It seems to be very sensitive to being set down, even into my purse. It is random and can happen constantly or just a few times a day. It is showing the water damage indicator on the battery, but neither phone has really every been wet. The person at our retail store said it is very sensitive to humidity -(such as being in the bathroom during a shower) and we have had very high humidity levels in our area lately, but that seems rather extreme that our 2 1/2 month old phones can't stand the heat and humidity? They are both working properly if we can get them to stay on.
i am now on the 3rd Storm in as many weeks. Each one suffered the same problem. Random reboots/restarts.Phone 1 was the worst - I purchased it as a 2month old used unit. I wiped it clean at purchase and setup for my use. I did not enable Blackberry services with Vodacom for 2weeks. In that time it behaved with no problems. A day after enabling BB Services with service provider the random restarts would happen. It was primarily during BB Messaging, but was not limited to that. It would restart during calls. Other times i would pick it up off desk and see that it restarted. (pin was requested). There were times that it would restart 3 to 4 times in succession before eventually "stabalising"i visited Vodacom and was told that all Storm 2's before Mar 2010 were recalled" I was given a replacement unit.Phone 2 - Service Provider configured phone for me and restored only contacts. emails and messages. Next day restarts began. Display goes white and error message displays for a few seconds. Then phone restarts. It would reboot totally randomly. Taken from pocket. whilst driving, during a call, laying on desk. Vodacom gave another unit after testing it for a few hours.Phone 3 - Only contacts restored. Original OS and settings used. Random restarts 3 times in one day as with phone 2. It however seemed to be "worse" at certain location "my office".A technincian suggest setting to 2G only. This worked okay for 2 days and then i took from pocket and it had restarted.Event log just said powered off and powered on. No error message. This is a day later and no more reboots. But phone still on 2G.I see that restarts/reboots are common place with the Storm2 and wonder if it is a design fault.i am gonna re-enable 3G and watch again.
The phone will randomly reboot itself, especially after i finish using it and close the slider. I tried doing a complete wipe on the device using BBSAK and reloaded the OS.... but nothing. I had version 7.0.540 then upgraded to .585 then even updated to 7.1.0.190. I got rid of a lot of apps and problem still persists. It is still usable but its very annoying when it reboots on me like 4-5 times a day. ?
I got a new phone. It's Xperia Z2. It's almost new and it is already randomly freezing and rebooting. I've already tried soft resseting, hard resseting, factory data reset and repairing with PC companion.
I recieved iPhone 4s for Christmas and it worked fine for about a month then it started rebooting randomly. I tried factory restores, DFU and anything else (no it was not wet) and nothing worked. I took the phone to Apple in early March and they replaced the phone and instructed me to not restore from back on my computer so I did not - I still have not. It contines to reboot so I thought maybe it's a bad sim card so I got a new one. I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it and still no change.
my bb 8820 randomly reboots by itself, it happens when i listen to music then suddenly when i choose the next song the led would turn red then it would reboot.
my device is rebooting randomly. Today I took it for a run and I didn't recharge it last night, because I know it still has some battery left. But when I was outside it coudl not be turned onl. When I arrived at home I plug power to the device and it was turned on instantly. The motoactv showed that it still has 60 percentage of battery, and not long it charged instantly to 100 percent
My phone is powering down on its own and rebooting on its own. I have tried restoring to factory settings and resyncing from a back up and it didn't work. There r several codes under my Diagnostics and usage. What's wrong with my iPhone5?
my curve 8320 keeps rebooting randomly. I got it 2nd hand from a guy. It will reboot randomly, be it while running an app or just sitting still on the table. Even while recharging. I have tried everything from formatting my memory card to running on minimal apps added into my bb. I have also upgraded and downgraded the OS frm v4.5.0.124(which it came with) to .81 to .182.I haven't tried using a new battery, maybe that will help? or is it a hardware prob, which would cost alot to repair.=( Please help? I really like my new curve 8320 other than the fact that it reboots randomly frequently. help!
I have a Gravity 2 which is randomly shutting down and rebooting.Anybody else here experienced the same issue, and if so is it correctable? Network = WIND Is there newer firmware available for it?
Device getting hot when charging? or randomly rebooting? I have done power downs, reboots, I am now trying a full phone reset to see if that fixes the issue.
I also get an error message: "android.process.acore". I am now unable to use my phone as it continually restarts and I cannot access any other options.
My Nexus sometimes randomly crashes and then has problems rebooting. I have factory reset the phone and even reverted fully to stock android. However, the problem persists. I have attached the logcat file pulled up to the crash.
