Galaxy S5 :: Software Upgrade Deleted All Photos
Dec 26, 2015Just accepted the new software upgrade last week and it deleted all photos from my phone's memory! They were not backed up. Is there any utility to get them back?

May 13, 2012I upgrade my iphone 4 to the new operating system as I purchased an ipad. I have noticed that all my crap photos and many unwanted deleted texts have returned. How can I ensure they are deleted permanently? Do I need to sync to Itunes, or will that bring them back again (I have gone through and deleted yet again from my iphone but dont want them to come back) I don't want them to transfer onto my ipad so I haven't linked my ipad and iphone yet.

Jul 24, 2015I keep my music on my SD card on my Galaxy S5. The other day I plugged the card into my computer, went to the music file, checked that there was only music in there, and deleted all of the songs. Then, the next day I noticed that all of my photos were gone. How this may have happened and how to get my pictures back? My photos were supposed to sync to google, but I guess they didn't because I can't find them anywhere.

Jun 6, 2015My Samsung Galaxy S5 memory was getting full so I moved 7.6 GB worth of photos onto my SD card (a 64GB micro SD card). It all went through fine and I could see that the photos had been moved to the SD card.
I went back to my the "Images" icon under the "My Files" icon and deleted them off what I thought was my internal phone's memory.
On reopening the SD card contents I have lost ALL the photos I moved plus other photos I'd previously moved to my SD card. How do I get these back???

Jan 27, 2013I accidentally deleted my whole photo history today. I had a back-up but there are several irreplaceable photos that I had taken since the last back-up.
I've read the other threads on this topic. I've installed Piriform Recuva and found the DCIM cache but got no further. The Recuva programme doesn't recognise the phone when it's plugged in to the computer.
When I go to storage on the phone, it says there's no sd card inserted (this is probably right - I remember buying one last year but I don't think I ever put it in since I used so little memory), so I can only assume everything's stored on usb or on the phone itself, but I can't see where the usb is to take it out. The only option available under storage there is 'format usb storage', which I don't want to do.

Nov 28, 2015I have a Samsung Galaxy s5, and today I decided to clean some of my files from the "My Files" application. Usually when I clean out the files, everything will be all fine and dandy, but recently (which means, 30 minutes ago), I tapped the "Device Storage." and I did something, and It processed and everything seemed to be fine, because usually when I clean something out , for instance"videos", "Audio." or "Documents.", my photos and such are still there. But when I came back from a quick errand, I went into gallery to see that ALL my photo albums were completely gone. they had vanished, and to where I have no clue. I do not have an sd card, but I do have micro SD Sim installed into my galaxy s5, and I know for a fact that everything in your phone is there for eternity whether or not you deleted it, so right now how to gain back ALL of my five albums filled with photos. I had some beautiful photos that I would hate to lose.

All of the recovery apps I've found won't work on files lost before the app was installed, and the only Windows based programs I've been able to find require the phone to be recognized as a USB device, which doesn't seem like an option for the S5. The phone is not rooted. How to recover the deleted files?

LG G4 :: Why Won't Photos Stay Deleted
Jul 15, 2015I am having a frustrating issue on my new LG G4 H815. Any photos I take with the standard photo app appear in Google photos and the gallery. When I delete them from Google Photos, they also are erased from the gallery. BUT, the next day (about a 24 hour cycle it would seem), when I check both google photos and the gallery, the photos have repopulated. However, when I log into google photos online, those deleted photos are gone - so somehow the photos on my phone are not actually being deleted, even though appearing that way at first.
I have tried deleting from the gallery, but that doesn't seem to work either and also I WANT to delete these files across both my cloud storage on google photos and on the phone. I have also emptied the trash on google photos, but still the repopulation occurs the next day. I do have Flickr Auto-backup running, but have disabled it before with no change in result. I even bought a new SD card a few days ago because I read that could be the issue, but that has not worked. I also tried clearing the data under the media storage app to rebuild the media database.

May 30, 2014I took over 30 photo's and 30 minutes of video today at my sons awards at school. I had sync turned off, all programs, Google, Dropbox, etc. I haven't rooted my HTC One M8 yet, so there's no other back up program running. I created a album in my gallery and copied the photos and video over to the album, the first option that pops up is to store them in "phone storage" I hit phone storage before I realized what I'd done. I didn't move them, I copied them. I went to Google photos and hit sync, then went back to the phones gallery, I had 2 copies of the photos and video, one set in the album I created and the other copy was on the camera. I was in a hurry when I did all of this. Normally when I create a album I move the pictures, not copy.
I went to Google photos and saw all the pics and video uploading, went back to the gallery and deleted the copy under the camera setting. The album I created is gone as well. Is there any way at all possible to retrieve them or are they completely deleted? I've sat here and repeated the exact same process with photos that are already backed up on Google and when I delete them from the camera they still appear in the album I created on the phone itself. I've created albums several times in the past and hit "copy" instead of "move", then go back and delete the copy under from the camera. I have Root Explorer installed and can't find them anywhere, I hooked my phone to my laptop and with no luck. if there's any way at all to get these photos back. it just made me sick to my stomach when I saw that I'd deleted the pics.
