Apr 11, 2015On some (but not all) apps it just seems to be there towards the bottom of the screen. If you press it you can drag it to other areas of the screen. It seems like it's a floating menu button. Is there some setting that turns this on and off?

Apr 19, 2015I used to be able to see the actual events on each day of the month but now I only see a green dot indicating there is an event. You have to click on that day to see what the event is. It was much better before when you could see at a glance your schedule for the whole month and not have to look at one day at a time. This change happened yesterday after having the phone for one week. My phone syncs with my google calendar on my computer.

May 6, 2015So close to being done with this phone as much as I like it. I've had so many problems. I now have purple dots on my selfie mode camera. They don't go away and Ive done a hard reset, too. I backed up using smart switch and when trying to restore I am getting an error and can't get my stuff back from smart switch. So frustrating. And even with the reset I still am having the small purple dots.

Apr 27, 2014I just got my new S5. It worked perfect for about two days and now my camera won't focus. It shows red circle when I tap. Also, the camera is focused for objects in 10cm distance, almost like macro mode. I've tried clearing cache, resetting data -- nothing seemed to work.

Feb 26, 2015On the app icons for Facebook and Email, I have orange circles with a number in them showing new emails or Facebook notifications. I want to make the orange FB notifications DISAPPEAR. My belief is that since I see that orange # show up so frequently, with every new comment to a FB post, that my device must be pushing notifications and checking FB every 10 minutes, wearing down my battery. So I would like to end that.
I have already:
1.Gone to App Settings > Refresh Interval and said NEVER
2.Gone to App Settings > Notifications and choose INACTIVE
3.Gone to Account Settings > Notifications > Mobile Push and UNCHECKED everything
I have also gone to Device Settings > Applications > Application Manager > Facebook and UNCHECKED Show Notifications.
The same orange circle with number of new emails show on my email icon, but I don't mind that so much. However, if I can disable it, perhaps I can find my way to disable on Facebook.

Apr 21, 2012I have a solid red circle on the phone icon at the bottom of my home screen.I Get a notification message come up on my home screen telling me that i have a new voicemail message. When i dial into voicemail it tells me there are no messages.I Have rang my network provider(3) they did a restore on my phone using itunes on my computer(remotely)but the circle is still there.I took it to my local Apple store(Milton Keynes) when he took the sim card out with the phone still switched on it dissapeared.But when he reinserted the sim it came back.

Aug 17, 2012I know this has probably been asked and answered a thousand times but...I recently took over ownership of a Galaxy 2 from someone else in the family and only use internet through wifi as I dont have data included in my tariff.However, I just saw on latest bill, I have a load of charges for data usage!I have done various searches and there seems to be lots of solutions but no DEFINITIVE one that i have read?The most obvious one I have read is to switch the data mode off from the power button. Another is to deactivate packet data in the network menu (I would have thought the first action would do the same?). I have done both but the charges still continue. I assume then that some apps are running in the background and accessing at random times?
So is what I am describing a normal 'feature' of the phone? Why is the phone allowing apps to override a very high level user setting???If this is the case, my searching has now left me baffled. I have read about downloading apps to switch the 3G connection off? Also I read I could set the phone to run on 2G?Does setting the phone on 2G affect any other functionality? I would like to use the phone for everything else eg wifi gps etc. I just dont want any non wifi internet data usage at all permanently!Lastly, I believe with the network internet connection, I cannot send or receive mms at all? I guess I will have to accept that.

The file size was around 12 MB after which it proceeded with rebooting the phone. Unfortunately my phone is not getting rebooted after the software update. We looked into sync' 2 Iphones but they kept robbing eachothers info.Apparently a pc log on is required for each Iphone,logging in to I tunes does not differentiate between users? Whilst that's ok for apps it's not so good for contacts,etc.Looking at Kies I can opt to sync' a lot better than the Itunes system,so I doubt if I'd have to sync' anything apart from updates to the firmware/software if I chose.
