Mar 25, 2015This could be a lollipop related issue. This is irritating, because i have to wait for the screen to tun on,or the caller to hang up, and sometimes takes a while.

Galaxy S5 :: Home Screen Icon Shifts Keeping Home Screen Blank
Feb 28, 2015Just discovered my home screen is blank, so I thought I had accidentally changed/moved it when I turned on "Easy Mode" to check that out. Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.

I guess it happened since I installed BestBlacklist free applications from ovi site. Then I uninstalled that application and even restored factory settings, but notifications didn't come back. I input all of my phone numbers in Outlook in the following format: (XXX) XXX-XXXX, but when I receive an incoming phone call on the home screen the numbers appear as XXXXXXXXXX (name is correct). When I look on the call log, they appear correctly and when I check my address book in the device, they appear correctly.I only sync one way - from Outlook to the Device. How do I get them to appear in the correct 10 digit phone number format with parentheses and hyphen?I had another Bold before this and had no issues with this at all. I am wondering if I need to use the Backup and Restore feature in the DTM to delete the address book completely and start again.

May 28, 2011I couple of days ago it shut itself off again. I took out the battery to reset it, but when it came back on the home button quit working, on both the front screen and the keyboard. Also, all of my calls are going straight to voicemail and the Happenings widget isn't working right. When there are no current happenings it says "keep up to date with friends in social networks". If you touch it, it says to setup a Motoblur account to use this service, but I already have one. I've tried just resetting the password on there, but that did nothing. And if I try to set it up, it comes up with a force close screen.

Apr 2, 2012We have two iPhone...both 4. Both are running the latest software. We both have the same issue. One is that frequently when you press the home button to escape an app it doesn't work. If you press the on/off button and then go back to the home button it may work, but not always. It takes repeated tries to get a response.
The second, and perhaps related, issue is that calls frequently do not connect. I can select a contact from either my favorites or the contact list. When I select the name the phone appears to be dialing. You hear the ring once, but no more and the call doesn't connect. Then you can't end the call to start over you have to wait for it to decide to end.
I don't know whether to restore both phones or not. We are thinking of visiting the Genius bar, but we're sure they will work perfectly there.

Jul 1, 2015You will need a root explorer and All in One Gestures app.
Look in device/system/usr/keylayout for generic.kl
Make a backup of this file before editing.
Open it in a text editor and look for lines "Key 158 BACK" and "Key 172 HOME"
Swap BACK and HOME then save and reboot.
Then open All in One Gestures and under hardware keys tab, swap function of home and back again.
Somewhere along the line the wake function is dropped. Everything else works as normal.

Jul 22, 2015I was using my phone earlier, everything was fine. I looked at it later, all my folders and icons are gone from my home page. The only thing on the page are the four things on the bottom. Phone, Chrome, Contacts and apps. I can get to everything from the app drawer, should be a simple matter to repopulate my home page. I've restarted my phone several times. I've both just restarted, and shut down, then restarted. All of my history seems to still be in the apps, I.e my email accts are signed in, my s-health history is there. Jan 2, 2016I've had a Galaxy S6 for about a month now, and for the past two weeks I've been fighting tooth and nail with it to try to fix the issue in the title. I believe (based off what little I've learned from Googling this up) that it's an issue with apps that use push notifications (GCM?) alerts, and includes Facebook messenger, Google Hangouts, Steam chat, TheScore (sports app), and some others. If I'm on my home wi-fi, those alerts MIGHT show up, but 95% likely won't; as soon as I disconnect from my home wifi, I'll get a deluge of alerts that had been 'backed up' and waiting for the chance to be delivered.
This does not happen while on cellular data, and it does not happen on other wi-fi networks from the same ISP.
After Googling the heck out of this, things I have tried include:
* Making sure that the 'keep wi-fi on while asleep' setting is set to always.
* Adding the affected apps to the priority list.
* Having a Samsung employee at Best Buy reinstall the OS. (I think that's what she said she did.)
* Changing my router to a static DNS, pointed at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
* Downloading that DNSet app, though I quickly deleted it both because it didn't seem like it was working, and because I didn't savor the idea of an app sitting in the middle of my data like that.
The handful of other threads I've found with a similar issue have all seemed to devolve down to a single thought: Lollipop (perhaps even specifically Lollipop on Verizon Wireless devices) does not always play well with IPv6 data, though it's entirely possible I've settled on that as the culprit just because it makes me feel better having a specific target in mind.
My router (Netgear C6300) does not seem to have a setting to specifically turn off IPv6 data. Any way to specifically turn off IPv6 usage on a Galaxy S6 without rooting the device?

Unfortunately the actual URL changes every day, and the website takes care of the details by changing the URL from a generic one to a specific URL based on the current date. All I have to do is navigate to the generic URL (by clicking on the website's menu), and the correct URL is formulated.
I would like to add this generic URL to my home screen. However, when the page loads it's already too late to save a shortcut to home screen, because the URL has changed. And I cannot find a way to edit the URL before the shortcut is created, or later.

Other networks can be found, like my grandparents wifi and my neighbours however I can't find my own. Even when I manually add the network using our SSID and network password it just says that the connection is "not in range".
