I have downgraded to 4.42 after the crappiness that is is Lollipop however the damn thing auto downloads again, you can ignore it a while but it eventually auto installs again. Any way of stopping this without root?
View 2 RepliesSomething is EXTREMELY bothering on iPhone and NEVER happens on other operating systems / platforms: Mail app on iPhone downloads the mail attachements, without asking me. It costs me a lot when this happens on a gsm network connection (not on wi-fi). It is normal in any mail client in the world to have the option of downloading only headers, or at least to decide when and if you want to download the attach.
Can this be set in anyway? Or is just one annoying thing that you cannot change? If so, is there a certain limit for the attachement file-size, that is used for the auto-download? I mean, above this limit, the attachements are not downloaded automatically anymore?

I have a galaxy s5 and just downloaded the new update. Before the update when I was in silent mode my phone would light up and then the LED light would flash when I got a text message. Now when I'm in silent mode nothing happens and I have to turn on the screen to see if I have a message. How can I change this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSeveral times now, I've noticed that my screen brightness is changing by itself, making it either 0% or 100% bright. I'm on T-Mobile, if that makes a difference.
I start on Auto Brightness and then move the slider to where I want to keep the brightness (thereby unchecking the Auto option), and then let my screen turn off. When I turn my screen back on, once in a while, the brightness will either be turned all the way down or all the way up. This is particularly unnerving during the day, when 0% brightness makes it look like my phone isn't turning on, and at night, when 100% brightness is practically blinding.

Very frustrating as drains battery.
I do not want to have it forget networks, as then have to key in long security key each time.
I connect my phone to my car's Bluetooth system during my drive to work in the morning in case I get a call. I usually listen to a podcast on my iPod, then switch to a CD if the podcast episode ends before I get to work. To do so, I flip past my Bluetooth audio setting on my radio. I've already disabled the Bluetooth connection for media in my phone, but all that's done is stop music from playing through the speakers of my car. My phone still begins to auto-play music, either music that's stored in my phone or launching Spotify and starting to play what I last listened to on there. I really don't like having to go onto my phone and close the app while I'm driving.

How do I stop this from happening? I saw a similar thread about SGS2's, but I think the locations of settings must have changed a bit because those directions were not completely compatible. I want to make sure I can still view my work email on my phone; just don't want my personal texts going into my work's email/network.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI cannot stand Lollipop, so I returned my phone to Motorola and received one that has KitKat on it. If I can turn off auto-updating of the OS, I will be good to go. I do not want to root the phone as that will mess up my warranty and insurance. If I cannot avoid Lollipop, I will get an Iphone or go back to a flip phone. Lollipop is the worst user interface ever. It is like the "New Coke". You cannot turn the phone to silent with the VOLUME button, how counterintuitive is that!? Also I don't want to see every update on the locked screen, the little pictures are fine. However with Lollipop, it is all the alerts or none at all.

Once i got them all updated and the phone restarted, the download action icon started running and hasn't stopped for nearly an hour, unless i turn off the wifi manually. it went off briefly, about 3 minutes, when i synced my playbook with my bold under the blackberry bridge app on my phone. i've tried going to the home screen where it tells which applications are running and it's just the usual ones, home, bbm, internet, phone and messages. i have tried turning off the phone several times, but still the problem persists.

I stated the TomTom download on my phone, it timed out, so I started and finished the download on the computer. Synced it to my phone. Now, since I opened App Store on my phone again, it started the download on my phone again and erased the completed copy that was on there. I've tried syncing with iTunes again to try and get the complete copy back on, but it won't do anything because the incomplete version is on the phone. I can see the incomplete download in itunes and I'm letting it complete on the computer, but it's going to take 17+ HOURS to finish (what the heck is wrong with Apple's servers? I know it's over a gig, but you'd think Apple of all places would have downloads running at more than 17kb/s on my 10mbps line). I've tried rebooting the device, no luck.

Now I'm having an issue where it won't stop chiming at every little thing. I've turned off all notifications. But when I do anything with it, it chimes with a dink dink sound. I wake it up, it dinks. I'm sitting here typing this message, and it dinks. The only app that I like to notifications for is my SMS app handsent. It has a different chime for when I get a message. So now I get 2 chimes when I get a message; the desired chime, and the new one.
I've cleared all my cache, I've rebooted, I've tried everything.
I keep getting trial apps downloaded to my Bold 9700 and I can't make it stop. Does anyone know how? Thanks

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was downloading applications on my phone and during the process it would stop working. I closed out of the Ovi store and now it will not even open. I click on the Ovi store app button and it pops up the symbol(Nokia Ovi) and sits there for eternity. I have reset the phone 3 times and to no avail, it continues. I have uninstalled the application 4-5 times and even tried to download the earlier version. I still can't get into the Ovi store.
I am not sure what happened. I contacted Nokia and they say that my phone doesnt support the Ovi store. My question is HOW was i downloading apps for a week and all of a sudden it just doesnt work. Why would ONE phone not be supported by nokia when clearly on the box, in the instructions, etc., it states that the Ovi store is accessable? I have had this phone for a week and a half and it already has these problems? What kind of smart phone CANT support or download applications, themes, and games.

View 5 Replies View RelatedLove my fone so far, but had not too much time playing with it so far, but one thing that bugs me is that my screen autolock straight after a call even if I am not back to my home screen, how can I stop it to do this.
Reason is that when I unlock it again, I am at the previous screen, I have then to cancel screens to go back to my home page to start again, this is a pain.
When I drive around my phone tries to connect to any available wifi networks and annoys me with pop-ups asking me whether i want to do that.
Once i say no, it still takes around 30 seconds or a minute for the browser or other apps to start working because it still thinks its on wifi.
How do i stop it from trying to connect to other networks.
I can always manually turn off wifi but then i forget to turn it back on and start using my data when watching videos. I am on a verizon network.
I looked in the wifi advanced settings but i dont see anything...
I have a 6760 slide phone in a pouch on my belt. It automatically answers a call when I remove the phone from the pouch. I am positive that I am not hitting any keys when removing the phone from the pouch, and I have AnyKey answer off in settings. As far as I can see it can only be the motion detector, or the light sensor automatically answering the call. This is extremely frustrating as I do not get to decide whether to silence the call. I have looked extensively on the Internet, in the manual and in the phone settings but can not stop this happing.
