I have a Blackberry Torch that I use for work but it keeps offering me Apps downloads - these are listed in my messages on desktop but there is no 'delete' option. If you open or scroll through the Apps pages there is still no delete option on the menu key, and there seems to be no 'unsubscribe' option either. how to get rid of the Apps offers?

I have not requested any apps but when I open the Messages folder they are permanently listed there - there is no delete facility and if you touch them they simply open up and try and get you to buy or download the app.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've spent so long googling and I've made exactly no progress at all...!!- Problem: my blackberry only keeps text messages for about a week before deleting them- Phone type: It is a blackberry Curve 9320. It seems to be on OS 7.1. I got it around the middle of October 2012.- Also worth noting: unlike most people I've found online with this complaint- my call logs aren't being deleted, and are still intact all the way back to the middle of October when I got the phone.- Also, emails aren't deleted after a week, they perhaps linger for as much as a month before vanishing.
(I don't care about those as much because I can access them other ways, whereas texts I can't)According to various googlings and also questions on here, this is most commonly due to lack of memory, therefore they suggest that you check your memory status and then free some up if required.- When I go into device and status information it tells me that my free memory is around 133602256 bytes (which I believe is in the region of 126mb?). Does this count as a lot or a little? Could this be the source of the problem after all?- Similarly when I look in memory use under media it says 'built-in media storage 96% free (30.4mb)' and 'media card storage 95% free (1.7gb)'The other obvious thing which I've checked (and initially thought had solved the problem but it hadn't) was 'Message display and actions' where I've had 'days to keep messages' set as forever but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.Am I missing something really obvious? How can I get it to keep my messages for more than 7 or 8 days?

View 4 Replies View RelatedLove my fone so far, but had not too much time playing with it so far, but one thing that bugs me is that my screen autolock straight after a call even if I am not back to my home screen, how can I stop it to do this.
Reason is that when I unlock it again, I am at the previous screen, I have then to cancel screens to go back to my home page to start again, this is a pain.
When I drive around my phone tries to connect to any available wifi networks and annoys me with pop-ups asking me whether i want to do that.
Once i say no, it still takes around 30 seconds or a minute for the browser or other apps to start working because it still thinks its on wifi.
How do i stop it from trying to connect to other networks.
I can always manually turn off wifi but then i forget to turn it back on and start using my data when watching videos. I am on a verizon network.
I looked in the wifi advanced settings but i dont see anything...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 6760 slide phone in a pouch on my belt. It automatically answers a call when I remove the phone from the pouch. I am positive that I am not hitting any keys when removing the phone from the pouch, and I have AnyKey answer off in settings. As far as I can see it can only be the motion detector, or the light sensor automatically answering the call. This is extremely frustrating as I do not get to decide whether to silence the call. I have looked extensively on the Internet, in the manual and in the phone settings but can not stop this happing.

Very frustrating as drains battery.
I do not want to have it forget networks, as then have to key in long security key each time.
I connect my phone to my car's Bluetooth system during my drive to work in the morning in case I get a call. I usually listen to a podcast on my iPod, then switch to a CD if the podcast episode ends before I get to work. To do so, I flip past my Bluetooth audio setting on my radio. I've already disabled the Bluetooth connection for media in my phone, but all that's done is stop music from playing through the speakers of my car. My phone still begins to auto-play music, either music that's stored in my phone or launching Spotify and starting to play what I last listened to on there. I really don't like having to go onto my phone and close the app while I'm driving.

I want to create all phone numbers as just a string of numbers with no formatting for each country, just a plus sign (for international calling prefix) at the beginning. It seems that editing out the punctuation in Address Book or or the iPhone has no effect. I've tried reformatting numbers manually in Address Book in my MBP but then, after I sync again, in iPhone they've automatically acquired punctuation and formatting again. I then setup formatting in Address Book prefs to a 'Custom' setting - a plain simple string of numbers with a + sign in front. But it seems to have no effect once the numbers are in the iPhone. I've tried editing those numbers in iPhone. I delete, say, a dash or a space and it automatically adds the dash or space again when I've finished and press "Done" to save it. I've even tried deleting and re-creating (in Address Book) some of the problem contacts as new contacts, hoping my custom-formatting setting in Address Book prefs would stick, but it still turns into formatted numbers in the iPhone. I tried turning off International Assist in iPhone settings but to no avail.

Something is EXTREMELY bothering on iPhone and NEVER happens on other operating systems / platforms: Mail app on iPhone downloads the mail attachements, without asking me. It costs me a lot when this happens on a gsm network connection (not on wi-fi). It is normal in any mail client in the world to have the option of downloading only headers, or at least to decide when and if you want to download the attach.
Can this be set in anyway? Or is just one annoying thing that you cannot change? If so, is there a certain limit for the attachement file-size, that is used for the auto-download? I mean, above this limit, the attachements are not downloaded automatically anymore?

View 1 Replies View RelatedCamera will display the button to take a photo, flash button and the button to swap camera views upside down and save the picture in the camera roll upside down even if i hold the phone sideways or vertical. Text messages will show up in landscape even holding the phone vertical also and safari wont switch out of landscape mode also. If i reboot the phone it all works perfect but then switches back to the problems after a few minutes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an strange, occasional problem with screen brightness. This problem has survived a factory reset and flash from Android 5.0.x to 5.1.x. I had also recently cleared the partition cache.
My screen sometimes goes very dim. I keep brightness on Auto. However, when this happens, cycling brightness to full makes no difference to the dim screen. Furthermore, the screen is dim only in some instances, such as: ChromeNova Launcher home screenSome other apps (can't recall which)
In other places, I see full brightness. For example, the notification shade is in full brightness (or whatever Auto sets it too).
The other day, I was outside in bright sunlight. My browser suddenly went dim, almost unreadable. I clicked home - dim. I pulled the notification shade down - full brightness. Pulled notifications back up - dim again. On restart, everything is fine again.
I use Screen Filter, but it was not on. In fact, turning it on darkens the screen even further.
my ray has started to play up recently, sometimes, and not all, i hear a vibration, look at my phone and there is nothing on either notification bar, no yellow 1 to say i have a text or anything, but if i go to my inbox, i can see that there was a text message and its like its already been read, but its not.
