Eseries / Communicators :: Shortcut In Belle To Get Info About Current Profile In E7
Feb 18, 2012
After Belle is there an easy way to see (without many clicks) which profile is in use on the phone? On Anna you could see this straight from the start screen....
E90 Communicator for the past 4 years, I figured it's time for a little upgrade (sticking with Nokia...have been since 1998).Is the E7-00 the current pseudo-Communicator? I'm very tempted, but acutely aware of it still running Symbian with Nokia now putting its all into Windows Phone 8. If I get one.will technophiles eventually work out a way to hack the E7 and run WP8 on it? Or should I be eyeing something else up?I tend not to be a phone philanderer, so I'll probably stick with my next purchase for a few years.
I have setup and used a SIP profile through the advanced VOIP settings etc. However once a net call is made, the profile registers with the ITSP, but then stays linked whilst the E72 is within range of one of the WiFi access points. Is there any way of manually disabling the profile so it disconnects from SIP until another call is started?
just installed Anna yesterday, with both updates. a long-press on the asterisk, instead of switching on bluetooth, it does nothing, and after the third attempt, causes the phone to reboot. well done, Nokia!
When writing a text, sometimes I accidentally press some random keys on the keyboard and suddenly the sms is send. I manually tried to find these keys but couldn't. Is there any advice on how I can turn the shortcut off? it can be really annoying sometimes.
I have brand new Nokia E-72 phone. I have downloaded and installed Nokia Ovi suite 3.0.0.290 and have updated the phone. My problem is I DO NOT have a vibrate profile under profiles in setting. It only switches from normal to silent.
do anyone know that whether there is any shortcut method to see the caller details in call log. Actually, otherwise we have to see the details through selecting the desired call log number and then selecting edit from options menu.
I'm trying to reconfigure the Home Page on my newly acquired E72. I understand how to select the application shortcuts to be used. What I don't understand is how to make an application appear in the list I can choose from. If I install a new application (or remove an old one) is there a way of editing this list?
i am encountrying a problem regarding my nokia e5 , i've just bought it recently and still left with 8 months warranty. The problem i am facing is, the message shortcut key which is on the keypad of this Phone, is not working properly. When i do long press to open new text msg, it sometimes doesnt opens any thing and sometimes even open messaging and then close it. At a certain angle i have to apply a little more force in order to operate it properly. wheather its a hardware problem or any sort of dust particles have emerged inside the keypad resulting in loose contact of the button and the motherboard.
I had received a letter of advice (you can call it a letter of warning) from the local authority on nuisance calls made to the local emergency hotline. There had been a few instances of this issue happening, and I would like to find out if there is a shortcut key. I had the latest happened to me again yesterday and I think the local authority will be writing to me again very soon. I would like to do either of the following:- 1. Change the local emergency number to a invalid entry so that it shows up an error whenever I try to call. 2. Disable the emergency call totally 3. [last resort] get local mobile service provider to bar all emergency calls made from my phone. Am not sure if the local mobile service provider will bar emergency calls...
I just got my new Nokia E72, happy with it overall, just a couple of niggles (apart from the build quality...), which I'd like to check with more owners of this phone.
When I press the EMail shortcut key, on the top right side of the keypad, this shortcut doesn't open the general EMail "folder" where I can see my GMail, Yahoo!, and Hotmail email accounts, instead it opens my Yahoo! email account directly, and I have to go back to the general "folder" to see my other email accounts...
I've tried playing with all the different options, but so far cannot make it work as I think it should be, which would be to go to the main EMail "folder", so I can choose which EMail account I want to open/synchronise, and not just opening the first EMail account I set up... Also, is not downloading the "Sent Items" folder, even though I chose "All" in What to download...
I just bought my mom a new E72. One thing that has us stumped is how to insert a phone number from your contacts into the body of an SMS. Pretty much every phone I have ever used has an option to "insert contact" so that you can select a number from your addressbook and insert it into the body of the SMS. I have been unable to find this option in the E72. The only way I have managed to do it is in a very round about manner involving multitasking, going and opening the contact book, then finding the number, copying it, and then pasting it back in the text of the SMS. Is this the only way to do what I want or am I missing something obvious? I can't believe that such a basic functionality would have been left out of a "smart" phone ?
I am updating my E7 with nokia belle with the nokia suite on my pc when i connect my phone i have the "phone info and tools " always in the status "updating" so i can't sync. or update my E7 with Belle because the suite is always stating busy and i couldn't turn off the update.
I just got a brand new Nokia E7-00 (MODEL: RM-626, IMEI: *). I have connected my device via USB cable under OVI suite mode, updated Nokia PC suite to the latest version, 3.3.86), and tried to perform two operations; with no success:
#1: Backing up my Nokia E7-00.Result: Back up doesn't just complete, and the following screenshoot is previewed when phone settings are being backed up, and then phone is totally shut down (Contact, Calendar, etc.. Backup is done successfully and counter shows 100% for each).Definitely, I press continue (ATTACHED PIC 1) and turn on the phone again, having nothing changed..
#2: Upgrading my Symbian software to Belle; with no success as well.Result: after the phone is connected, back up operation starts, Nokia Suite backs up Calendar, Contacts, etc... Successfully until reaching Dictionary predetective settings to be backed up where the phone is shut down. A message similar to the above snip shot shows up saying that something went wrong, and that the phone will restart and operation will continue with no avail. I press continue, phone totally shuts down, I manually turn it on. and get the last screen shot below (ATTACHED PIC 3) (phone settings had no changes made). Screenshoots for the result are below:MODERATORS NOTE: IMEI number has been removed. Sharing of personal information is not allowed on the forums. Whenever I read the PR statements about Symbian Belle, the older Symbian^3 touchscreen only phones such as the N8, C6-01, C7 etc are mentioned as being eligible for the Belle update, but nothing specifically about the E6-00.
Does any one know if the E6-00 will get the Belle update for sure?
I have installed Nokia Suite 3.3.89 and checked for software updates. I have Symbian Anna 025.007 installed and it says there are no updates available. Well I know there are as Belle is available.
I have installed Belle yesterday on my E6. I loved the interface very much but some of the options of 'Anna' were missing here quiet to my disappointment. First of all the easy multitask viewing option of my Anna interface was missing here. Whenever I started a new program, the previous one was hard to find, even in the notification bar. I have to go again to the previous program through menu search.Secondly by D-pad is not working as it should be. Only the right and left is working, its not going up and down. I have to screen touch all the time on my E6 Maybe Belle was designed exclusively for all touch screen phones. E6 and E7 being an exception. I have to get the feedback from E7 users, if they are facing the same problem.
I had recently updated my phone with the belle update,i have had the update for slightly over 2 days. This morning at around 6am the phone was beeping or something so i put it on charge, i was too tired to realize the kind of sound it was so i put it on charge and went back to sleep and found it off later on, i tried hard resetting it, putting it on charge, but it won't come on.I lost connection to my phone during the installation of the update but after doing the the installation process it worked fine)
I got Nokia E6 with Symbian Anna on it (product code 059D5R0), installed Nokia Suite (3.4, then 3.5 beta), restarted Nokia Suite several times, I just can't see Belle in the list of available updates. There was a video called "belle_promo" but nothing else.
Where/how can I in Symbian s60rd3 disable info about calendar and meetings/events when phone is locked (device - not keypad)? For example in nokia E66 synchronized with exchange. I have on screen, when I lock device, info about meetings and other events. Exist app or function in my nokia with this?
It seems I cannot delete individual folders on the E7-00 mass memory. I mis-spelled a folder name and wanted to delete it. You can only select multiple folders and not individual folders to delete or rename.
Had to use USB connection via Windows 7 to delete folder on phone mass memory.
After upgrading to Belle on my E6, Ovi Sync is no longer working. I was using the Belle beta version (unofficial version) before and it was working fine. Now after the update to the official firmware 111.130.0625 it's not working anymore.
My Nokia history:2110 => 6110 => 8110 => 6310 => 2300 => 2600 => 6070 => E71 => N97 Mini => E72 => C7 => E7 => E6 => 700
The SIP client at my Nokia E6 with Belle can not login to the VoIP account. I receive error message - Incomplete settings please contact your service provider. With the same set of parameters my previous Nokia phones E75 and E61i worked fine with the same service provider. I have contacted help desk of my VoIP service provider and they told me me they have received huge number of similar notifications related to Anna and Belle. Moreover they told me that this issue has been reported to Nokia and they hoped the problem will be solved soon but so far it has not been solved. The VoIP provider I use is IPFON in Poland.
Has somebody faced similar problem with the same or other VoIP provider? Or any specific parameter differences between older generation of phones and Anna/Belle that should be taken into consideration while setting up the VoIP in E6.
Just updated my E6 to belle, I waited for update to be available in Slovenia. Now I have nice phone, not a smart phone. I did reset the phone several times.
Now I have problems:
1. connecting to WIFI, my phone finds my wifi network, I can connect to it, but soon the connection is lost and when I try to connect again - it finds the same network - market as unknown, (it does not remember the wepkey,
2. browsing the internet - problem because loosing connection to wifi network.
3. setting gmail only through wifi - I can set it up, when trying to download any mails, I get a notice- mobile connection is unavailable, but I cannot set it to connect via wifi - as I had it set with Anna.
4. connection settings for phone and apps - I have less settings, cannot set it as I could with Anna.
I have an installation of "DataWatch" from the Nokia Store that initially failed when my phone lost service in the middle of installation. Nothing I do seems to stop it from showing installation in progress in the store "says 'Installing.'
I've tried power off/on. I've tried holding the power button down for 10 seconds for the "completely power off" option (E7-00.) Given the amount of time required to put things back, I don't want to do a soft reset or a hard reset.
