I currently have a black Nokia e71 and my charger (genuine nokia) recently has started falling out making it near enough impossible to charge whilst using the phone in my hand (I am addicted to my phone, lol). I have to put the phone on a flat surface like anyone would do, but apply a tv remote over the cable keeping it in a firm position for it to charge. The charger is really awkward with me

Niether of these Car Chargers work, I have tried mutiple USB Cables with these USB chargers & nothing..... how can they work with my N900 & other devices, but yet my E7 does nothing when I plug them in?
I use the same cable I use hooking it to my computer, and even then.. nothing, but I know both these USB car chargers function fine. Something is wrong with the design of the phone?
Just got my E7 earlier this week. It will charge perfectly using the mains adaptor, and when I connect it to my PC via USB, it charges, but it will not work with the car USB charger that I have.I know the charger works, because I have used it on other phones, but it will not work on my E7.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently had to get a Nokia E7 as a replacement to my N900 which died and no longer stocked. My E7 has worked fine until recently, when I took it to a trip (keeping it within the UK) when I noticed it would not charge properly. It would say my charger (the wall charger which came with it, not the USB data cable) was a USB device it could not recognize! After great effort, I can get it to charge eventually, sometimes with it playing nice, sometimes it'll still say it doesn't recognize the USB device but charges (the charger plugged to the wall). This can happen both after an empty battery and when trying to charge it while there is still some charge in the phone.
View 5 Replies View Relatedevery time I plug the USB battery charger (nokia standard model), or when I connect E52 to my PC the phone goes in locked state and ask for the security/lock code to unlock it.I know it because it's the default 12345 and after pressing OK the phone continues to work, but if I disconnect USB and connect it again, it goes again to clocked state (like doing it with the power button). firmware is 71.004I have this problem sice some months, but I'm not sure when it started ... may be the last firmware upgrade ? Or the last reset of the phone ....
View 2 Replies View RelatedI think it says on my original E71's battery charger (AC-5E) that it comes with an output 5V-800mA (it is not clearly readable anymore).
However, all my other chargers have an 5V-350mA output, and when I load my E71 with them, it also takes waaay longer. But when I want to buy another charger (and I also checked the E71 page), it only says AC-5E, and I only find it with an 350mA output, never 800mA...
I tried to update my N8 to Anna. Like many others, Anna 1/2 failed. So I tried restore to factory default and reinstall Anna. It worked fine. But for the past two days, I notice some problems with my phone which were not here before. ( I am in US, BTW) Extreamely short battery life. Before anna, I only needs to charge my phone every 2 days. Now, a full battery can only last for, T-Mobile 3G/Data keeps failing. Once in a while, I have to restart my phone because T-Mobile service failed. no connect. can not get online, or make phone calls. I have to restart my phone to get service back.

I Have gone through the C memory and the below are the only items with any significant file size. Config = 86kb, Log = 157kb, Mail for exchange 26kb, Place widget 17kb, Sound files 118kb, adimagetemp 12kb, Bur_debug 43kb, debug.log 21kb, ka3d-log.txt 89kb, MdfpluginArchive.txt 27kb, Everything else is eithr 0 or bytes only, with about three more less than 10kb each.
what I can delete safely. I am no expert, however I do not see why the above quantity should be using up so much on the C memory?
I have taken back to factory settings and transferred data to PC under Nokia Suite Make Space option.
I would like to know if there is any way to disable 3g on this phone? I don't have a data plan and i would like to avoid overages.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI sent my less-then week old E6 in for repair becuase of the restart-problem. I called them on monday, and was told I'd get a call from a cust service rep. I called again today (Thrusday), and was told someone would call w/in 48 hours. Remarkably, I actually received a call.
They could not fix the E6 They offered a new, not-refurb'd N8, and not an E6 as a replacement, citing the N8 as an "upgrade".
Figure that one out.Worst_Service_EVER I do not want the N8, as it has no qwerty keyboard, but that was the only option given. She gave me 2 days to call her back after thinking about it.
Iv been using this phone for like 2 years and its working allright but since today i tried installing NetQin mobile guard on my phone but my phone got stuck and rebooted itself,after that it kept on turning on and rebooting itself.
i tried every method,hard reset,soft reset,taking out the sim card and memory then turning it on but no use! somthing must have gone wrong with the firmware but i cannot reinstall it because when ever i connect my phone with my pc and nokia pc suite,the phone doesnt stop rebooting so everytime the connection also fails.i dont understand that what should i do with my phone,i cannot find any solution to it.
This firmware have fixed very bugs. But one bug added with its new feature: when you have a new SMS or missed call, it appears the name and number of caller. But in right to left languages such as Arabic and Persian, it appears the name from left to right and is not readable.

After the trial period got over i purchased a new license and uninstalled the trial version. I pulled down the screen lock rocker to check for any updates, but there was no display. the backlights were all on though, i tried swithcing off using the power button, but it wont switch off, so i removed the batt, after that the phone simply refused to boot up. when i pressed the power button it giave me the usual vibrartion and thats it. No display/backlight or anything. I tried removing the SIM and battery and then re-inserting just the battery and then turned it on but still same result. When i put it on charge it gives me the usual blip and the charging LED blinks at times..but the phone will not start up.
Nokia E63 version 500.21.009/501.21.001 cannot check in or lcate the current location, but eariler verion can do this.
