Eseries / Communicators :: E5 - Contact Search From Home Screen Stopped Working?
May 18, 2011When I got my E5 I could start typing a name of a contact and the search worked nicely. But now nothing happens as I type - it just shows the text/numbers that I have entered. I'd like to get this back as it's a really nice feature. Is there something I should be turning on/off to get this to work?

Nov 30, 2010The E5 has a home button and a message button that you can configure. Normally if you press the message button for a short time, it goes to messages. If you press it for a long time, it opens the create message menu. Mine worked yesterday but doesn't do anything anymore.

Oct 9, 2012I am using Nokia E7 since its launch in March 2011. Recently a part of the touch screen (The Bottom 1 cm in portrait mode) has stopped working. Rest of the screen is as good as a new one. If it is due to the software problem.

Last working was when I put my phone on charger and I deactivate power saving mode, and when I take off from charging, my touch stop working. When phone is closed(keyboard) nothing work only power buton. When I open keyboard everything working , but no touchscreen.I hope is software problem, and I reinstal, reset , and try everything I know but still same. Feb 9, 2010I have a weird problem with my E71. Occasionally the contacts search where you start typing a name and the contacts pop up filtered on the home screen just stops working. I can get it working again by disabling and reenabling the feature (by typing something and choosing options>contacts search off; then turning back on).
why it is randomly ceasing to work? It's really annoying to sometimes use it and have it not work and then have to disable and re-enable.

Aug 19, 2011I did the update yesterday, and today i did charge it for a couple of hours, but now it has stopped charging completey. even through the usb connected to a PC, even a car charger and the direct wall charger. i Have two towers of the battery remaining. The computer does not regonise the device also. Could the port be damaged? or is it a software problem??

Oct 30, 2011since Friday28th of October, in the morning I am experiencing a rather unpleasant issue: my Nokia E6 dos not connect to my company's email IMAP email accounts. I take the opportunity to report other 3 issuesI have 2 emails accounts @mycompany.com that were regularly being used. I did not update the firmware nor performed any changes on the phone, all of a sudden the E6 does not connect with the email accounts, there is no error message.I tried the following:1) Re-entered the password of the email account, I confirm this is right2) Created one of the email accounts that were on the E6 on 2 other devices (Ipad and Palm Pre), they work perfect, both on Wifi, on my operator,(Orange) and on an other phone operator (Swisscom)3) deleted one email account, from the E6. I restarted the phone (by holding the button 8 seconds) and recreated the email account, this is not possible, I get the following error message:" service temporarily unavailable. Try again later. "4) I repeated the test (point3) both on WiFi and using the 3G operator. I got the same errorOn the E6 there is also a Gmail account, which works flawlessly.Using the email is not an option for my business, so I wish that THIS TIME I will get an effective reply from NOKIA. ( NOKIA don't tell me again that I have to use OVI account or my mailprovider does not work, because as explained I tested the settings on other devices.

Oct 17, 2011All of a sudden on Saturday my nokia E5 stopped picking up a signal and started freezing, the text msg sign is also flashing on the screen. I had used the maps app earlier on in the day so don't know if this has anything to do with it. Its not the sim card because I have it working in another phone. I always know the E5 was a phone!

Nov 18, 2012so i changed the battery on my e7-00 the other day, after following a tutorial on Internet. i changed it with no problems, reassembled, and then turned the phone back on, and now the phone does not recognise when the qwerty keyboard is opened, and it hence does not turn the screen, nor type the correct letters. the phone had no problems prior to this happening.
