My iPhone 4S shows no interest in using my alias email address as the default choice for sending and receiving email, even though I've changed the settings in iCloud. Mail persists in using my Apple ID as the default sending email address. It's a minor nuisance as my name shows up either way, but I'd like the correct email address to show.

Mail app appears transparent. cannot access any email. How to fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI sync my iPhone 5 with iTunes every day. In the course of charging. Now, I get an error message advising that mail accounts cannot by synced as the mail accounts are in use by the iPhone. This is new to me and is, frankly, more than an irritant if I have to turn mail accounts off.Â
What has caused this error message to suddenly appear? And how do I rectify it?Â
I'm receiving mail notifications for incoming emails but when I go to mail, the message isn't there.

I have a gmail account that I use on my iPhone, and a work email address with it's own domain. I forward a copy of all work email to my gmail account so I can receive it on my iPhone, but when I reply to work email, the Reply To address is my gmail address. Anyone know how to change this to reflect my work address? (ie: joe@abc.com)

I've just bought an iPhone 4.
I've created a new mail account and the mail icon shows 3 messages.
Touching the 'mail' icon brings up the usual list of mail services but my new account doesn't appear.
In 'Settings' my new account is there.
Why doesn't it show up in the 'Mail' list?
I just can't find out how to access/use this account
My iCloud email pushes mail to my iPhone and my iMac. But, when I delete an email from my iMac, my badge does not update on the Mail icon on my iPhone, unless I acually open mail on the iPhone. The iPhone acts like the Push function only works for receiving emails and not for deleting them from the iMac.Â
I have deleted my iCloud account on my iPhone and then reinstalled it, and that did not fix it. What can I do to fix the Push issue that I am having?Â
PSÂ I am using the latest Mail and Mavericks on my iMac and the latest iOS on my iPhone.

IPhone 4 running 4.0.1. Happened on 4.0 as well. This is the second time this has happened. Look at the center email...anything look funny? It won't let me delete and eventually changes to a date in the year 2000 then randomly will go away. It just shows up on it's own. Email setup with default gmail account settings.

My boss switched from blackberry to iPhone and is having difficulties with his email. He keeps EVERY email he receives on his computer, but does not want to keep them on his phone. I can't sent mail from my apple phone 5 and iPad both. Every time I send error msg says my mail I'd is rejected by server. Though I can receive mails. why it's happening
View 1 Replies View RelatedI deleted an old email address from my iPhone and added a new account. The phone is pulling the new account's information. Tunes is worrying me, though. In my iTunes settings for my iPhone, under the "info" tab and in the "sync mail accounts" section, my previous email address is used for the server name.
So it says:
Gmail (IMAP:oldaddress@imap.gmail.com)
Instead of:
Gmail (IMAP:newaddress@imap.gmail.com)
I installed the Mail for Exchange 2.9.158. It works fine except for one thing. I am always getting a new email icon on the top left. I tried to mark all as unread and then mark them back as read to solve the problem but it doesn't work. The Mail for Exchange reports that it has no new email i.e.
Mail for Exchange (0)
But still the top left icon for new email appears. I do not have any other mailboxes defined in messaging. Please help me with this problem.
Why doesn't this feature exsist for IMAP servers that support PUSH in the latest iOS? Will it be added to iOS in the future, or is Apple not supporting it so you have to use Message or something else? It's quite anoying not being able to have my mail show up as fast as it does on my Windows email client using push on my IMAP account. My first experience emailing on an iOS device is that it's a bit stone age with IMAP support. Change this, and I'll be more likely to buy Apple products again in the future , if not, I will be ditching it
